I haven’t figured out which train caused the issue. The lights were blinking on the SD40’s on the WSB TV video during the fire which means they were operating in remote control mode if I’m not mistaken. So either the train was on remote control and the operator didn’t realize that the other train was fouling the switch, or the SD40’s were in the right and the other train backed into them and all those cars fell over.
@@HotspotsSoutheast The track of cars was slightly accordianed, indicating it was shoved into the SD40's fouling the switch. The cars then derailed away from the locomotives while the shove kept them going another three car lengths before stopping. The first car involved would have been the tank that ended up at the fence line, followed by the second tank. Once the first car hit the fence line, went sideways, and the second tank rolled over, the track of cars had nowhere to go and began to accordian.
@HotspotsSoutheast The switch is lined for the remote locomotive in your footage. I was told it was an NS train at fault in my briefing, but I haven't confirmed.
Firefighters used foam to extinguish the fire the started after the fuel tank on one locomotive was slashed open by the cars that were shoved into it. I believe about 1,200 gallons burned or soaked into the ground before the fire was put out.
For anyone who can’t figure out where Inman Yard, Howell Mill, etc are in the description they’re in Atlanta.
Big Blue 😍
I think the fire department skimped a little on the foam.
Looks like when Percy had that accident at the flour mill. 😂
DOT says you shall use Zipper Merge......😂
Great Footage and Great Drone Coverage. 👍🙏
great views of trains , even the small derailment . Wonder what limits are on lengths of trains are at now ?
It looks like the tanks were shoved into the SD40s
Two trains on the same track never ends well
That’s crazy!
Seems someone forgot the SD40s train was too long for the tracks parked on.

wow!
Bring in the Sidewinder Dozers. Will Hulcher get this cleanup job?
Was this in Michigan??
Ooooo now 🤔😨
Was this all CSX involvement? Another account on FB said NS was involved.
Remote controlled loco(s) pushing?
I suppose Cranemasters is on the clean up??
SERVPRO - Like it never even happened!
Probably Hulcher, only 10 minutes from their staging lot.
"Snow" covered locomotives/cars/tracks...never a good scene when the ambient temps are fifty degrees +...oopsies...
Great videography/droneography HS!
Firefighting foam.
Derailments Aren't Fun At All!!
🌹🌻🇮🇳🌻🌹
Nice
Was that sand from the engines or potash from a hopper or what, nice coverage,IM/manifest was booking!🛤🚂
Something spilled from that hopper but most of the white stuff is fire retardant.
correction, that white stuff is firefighting foam which is used to put out chemical fires@@HotspotsSoutheast
Yes the evening train was hauling for sure. The drone couldn’t catch up to it.
plastic pellets what wsb tv says spilled
