    There is one big difference! The a77ii got XAVC-S Recording and better autofocus with software update 2.0.
    And also for sports photography its miles better, since you can shoot 24mp raw images at 12 fps, rather than low quality jpegs with a 2x crop at 8fps. I own the predecessor of the a68 the a58 and it shows how much better the a77 is in terms of software features. Oh i also forgot that the a77ii has eye autofocus too.

    Really enjoyed the video. Have got an old Minolta Dynax 9 and was looking for a Sony DSLR that I could use with the lenses. It looks like my options are an A68 or an A 77ii so your opinion is really worth while.

    Hello! Your vids are wonderful, thank you for the effort you put ino these, I was wondering if you still have the A77ii in your possesion and if you are willing to sell by any chance? Finding it hard to locate a body only seller as I have loads of A mount Sony/Minolta glass. Long shot but I thought I'd ask!

    Hey there. I know you sold off the A68 already but did you know if the A68 allowed for mic level adjustment during video recording?

    What do you prefer for me? I am a student and doesn't have so much money. So my question is whether it is worth investing in the a77ii. Or whether the a68 is sufficient. It is important to me that I can use higher iso from time to time and that it is definitely good. Maybe you can tell me if the a77ii is much better.

    • @GrandadsReviews
      @GrandadsReviews  4 роки тому

      If you require high iso then neither the A68 or A77ii will be of any use as they are not good at high iso in fact I would not use either above 800iso. You will need a more modern sensor something released within the last 2yrs.

      @@GrandadsReviews So are the a68 and the a77ii comparable in terms of the sensor? Or is there a difference to be seen.

    These cameras being DSLT, with constant live view in EVF and screen, why would they need a DoF preview button?

    • @GrandadsReviews
      @GrandadsReviews  Рік тому

      Because you don’t get a sense of the depth of field without stopping down the lens to the aperture you are planning to use as the live view and evf are only showing the image with the aperture wide open.

    • @LeoNatan
      @LeoNatan Рік тому

      @@GrandadsReviews So the SLT EVF didn’t operate as the mirrorless EVFs do? Even back in the NEX 7 days (shared sensor as a77 and a65), the EVF behaved as do modern mirrorless camera EVFs, where the live view uses the selected aperture in real time and not wide open, as did SLRs/DSLRs. I’ve never handled a DSLT, but I thought they were a good stopgap between mirrorless and DSLR, achieving fast autofocus due to the PD plane + mirror, while also having the convenience of a mirrorless camera in the form of an accurate live view.

    • @GrandadsReviews
      @GrandadsReviews  Рік тому

      @@LeoNatan All cameras SLR/DSLR or mirrorless use full open aperture to give you live view it’s only when you take a shot that the the camera closes down the aperture or on some cameras when you half press the shutter button and if you engage the depth of field preview.

    • @LeoNatan
      @LeoNatan Рік тому

      @@GrandadsReviews Mirrorless cameras do not open the aperture, by default, that is not correct. The only exception is when using a flash. I have a Sony mirrorless camera with me right now, and the aperture closes in real time, as set by the camera, even at f22. This is also true for Panasonic, Nikon and Canon mirrorless cameras.

    A very good comparison. I don't care about frame rates.
    Do you think that one could change the view panel from the A77II over to the A68, if I could get one from a broken A77II? Would it be possible from a pure mechanical point? I can't believe they use different electrical adapters inside. Can you see any electrical cables? Thank you in advance.
