A trick i use is rubber band one of those cheap 50 cent covid masks everyone wears over the expensive cartridge filters I use.that way the expensive 3m cartridge I use is not totally covered in dirt ,in the cloud of dirt I work in.then throw away the cheap ones every break.keeps your expensive $25 cartridges from getting clogged.if you work in a dirt cloud.rototilling etc.hey,it works
Does this in any way effect the good filter? I wouldn't think so.. but just curious if it reduces it's ability in some manner. That's a brilliant idea.. I imagine you're able to keep on using the expensive filters for a lot longer.

Try to attach filters but the plastic connection turns on both sides of mask and won’t allow it to connect and tighten. Any suggestions?
We are adapting other masks to use these P3 filters. You must use the P3 filters!

I think the idea is that it filters out the droplets in the air and the spittle (not the actual virus itself, as you say)

Hi there, apologies for the very very late reply. There are no advantages with only using one side of the filters. The filtered side would be doing twice the amount of work to compensate and the user would find it harder to breath through. Recommended for dual filtered use only.

What is the point of holding your "breath for 5-10 seconds" 3:38 ? Should the air pressure slowly release for that long? My 6800 releases in one second or so. It would seem to be a VERY IMPORTANT point to make clear in your video. Please clarify.

This is very much overkill for the Wuhan Chinese coronavirus. These masks are between $100 to $140 without any filters. Now the filters are all but impossible to get. I wouldn’t waste the money on this for coronavirus.

It depends on the filter/cartridge. You wanna use at least a N95 filter, a P100 is the best one you can get.

can you do “Grinding” in these, because the extraction valve flaps i have been told let particles in to your mouth, even when face fit and with and good seal?

First off, let me say that I have a made in the USA, 3M mask. Not a Chinese knock-off. The 3M mask is high quality and designed well. If you get the right size mask and do a fit check to insure it is air tight to your face, you can work in high dust environments without trouble. The valves don’t let particles into your mouth. If someone told you that, they were probably using a damaged mask. The air enter through the filters and passes through the first set of intake valves that allow the clean air inside the window lens to prevent fogging. Then the filtered air passes through a second set of valves into the respirating cup over your mouth and nose. The exhaust you exhale goes out the bottom of the respirating space into the outside and and never into the window lens. Because if this design, all air in the mask is filtered and it mask never fogs. Hope this helps.
I bought mine for using while heavy duty sanding with an angle grinder on cedar, and that fine dust does not get past the filters. You have to have the filters on for any sort of grinding. The flap for the exhaust from your mouth is only one way, out. So how could particles get in?
Chris Donaldson when you are close up working in confined spaces that’s when, also some are wondering it could be the seal isn’t designed good enough when moving about and when you’re face fitted by health and safety representatives you are sat down in a chair wired up to a computer, to many people at our work complaining about them and that’s with the best filters you can get for these 3M full face masks

Of course ff-403 series. But it's really specialized. If you are not working in toxic environment, 6800 should be fine.

If you use it for COVID-19, then you have to disinfect the entire mask after each use. If you use filters with a plastic cover, then you can wipe the plastic off with disinfectant.
Replace the filters when it becomes hard to breath through.
