She’s working on her legato again. She isn’t taking as many breaths between every couple words like before. Her upper register is still not there, but her mid register sounds good to me. I like how people just shut up and listen, she still delivers this song really nicely considering everything her voice has been through. She could stick with her mid register for the rest of her life and she’d still sound incredible to me.
yes! her middle register sounds great. Her belts are also great, unless the nodules get in the way. Overall, I'm really loving how she's singing now than the last few years. She's regaining fluidity in her runs!!! ❤️
It can't be easy for her, not knowing from one day to the next what her voice will and won't allow her to do. Somehow, she finds a way to perform and still do a good job. I'd be grateful for the chance to see her perform live. Who knows how long her voice will allow her to perform?

I can’t imagine having the top voice and skill in the world and then having it not come out. That’s soul-crushing. More people should be understanding. Moreover, they should recognize her musical ingenuity. She will always be a musician, no matter what happens with her voice.

Come on now, we all love her but she is human. Actually, to me she sounds better than a couple years ago. Even a voice as uniquely awesome as hers can't last forever. She is still our girl and we love her. She is also flesh and blood like the rest of us. I pray that she's going thru a thang with maturing and hopefully she will get most of her voice back. @@clos1393 I'm also a singer. I would not say she's struggling, just because she's not doing demanding vocals every performance does not mean her voice is gone or that she is struggling. She's been doing the same vocally demanding songs for decades, it's not always going to sound or be the same.
In my opinion she still has unbelievable vocals and an amazing voice.
her voice definitely doesnt sound as constricted and bad as last year. Her vocal ability is back to about 2019 again.

Ok let's keep it real, her voice is shot. To hear perhaps the greatest female voice of all time struggle in this way is genuinely sad, but even in this condition she has moments of genius that display her musicianship. The consolation is she has zero left to prove. She was given the most incredible gift and shared every last ounce of it with all of us - all whilst inspiring a new generation of singers. Thank you forever MC.

To be honest, I don’t expect her to at least match her best vocals in the mid-2010s now that she’s in her 50s already. I mean even some of the most well-preserved voices in pop (such as Patti LaBelle) experienced issues with their vocal consistency, let alone Mariah who is known ta have had an especially inconsistent voice after her prime. I expect her voice to deteriorate more rapidly as the years go.

This lady hasn't consistently sung in almost two years and fans expect her voice which is known to be unpredictable to sound like 1996 again. We know she also has very bad stage fright sometimes due to pressure from these same fans. Touring like she did just a couple of years ago wasn't really healthy for her but I do believe it can help increase her confidence and regain some of her voice if she decided to do it once more.

I commend her for not lip syncing. I truly feel for her-I can’t imagine losing your voice. It’s like a painter losing their hands. She had such a good run in her younger years. If I were in her position, I would make music that suits my new voice. She doesn’t need to belt anymore. She can challenge herself with minimalism.
I just wish fans would admit she lost her voice, rather than making exuses and calling those who say so haters. I'm not hating. I will always consider her the greatest singer of all time and support her no matter what. But yeah, her voice is gone. Does this make it bad? Not at all! She set the bar so high though that it's hard not to be sad when we remember what she used to be capable of. This is really good compared to most other singers. It's just not the Mariah I first fell in love with.

YES. I would rather she adjust her songs to suit her new voice than strain it to hit notes and runs she can no longer do (or do very inconsistently). There is nothing wrong with her new voice, but she won't adapt to it. She has a great lower and mid register and there is nothing wrong with altering songs or singing newer songs with it.

Wow this performance is good. She was physically shaking but she still sounded nice. The falsetto was on point and her mid belting range was good. I mean if she had not been that nervous she would have sung that song better but I'm not complaining at all.

@@butterfly-qj8rh no it isn’t. No one’s had an issue with that since Julie Andrews 25 years ago. Thousands are done a day and many singers you know have had them removed to save their voice.
Mariah's biggest competition will always be herself from previous eras. I do my best not to compare and instead I just listen and enjoy.

I have so much respect for Mariah. I can honestly not even fathom what it must be like to go through so much vocally and have to find your way to work with how your voice changes. All I can say is that I will love every single note she ever sings. We see how much she's working on improving her voice, and I for one can really hear the difference with a couple of years ago, she is not only improving with how she sounds but MUCH MORE IMPORTANTLY: she seems happy. And thats all I want for her.
And for real, the 2:40 belt really made me emotional. It wasn't large or anything, but I didn't expect her to touch upon that note so I was baffled. Thank you for being you Mariah!

Y’all say “as lamb” to hold some weight but the real is the lady has been singing and over singing constantly for the last 30 years. Mind you she has been the laughed at, ridiculed, and often thrown aside as a joke because she’s not singing the same at 53 when she was 25. You’d never treat Aretha, Whitney, or Celine like this who all faced MAJOR vocal decline why is Mariah the subject to bullying? Mariah is a gift from GOD and her voice is still in good shape maybe it could be better if she got her nodules taken out who knows but one thing about MY MOTHER is that she is not afraid to fight.

Did you not see the reviews on Whitneys live performances right before she passed? Whitney was getting the same treatment when her voice declined. It's not right. But alot of things being said about Mariah and her current voice is true. The voice is borderline gone. It's more bad moments now than there are good moments. Still love her tho.

y'all aren't giving her enough credit. the only thing she's lacking a bit right now is some confidence and a bit of belting range. but everything else has made significant improvements. go back to when she would perform hero in 2016. this sounds *way* more fluid and less constricted. the legato improvements are terrific. but enough of the hyperanalyzing, we love you and support you always mimi!!!

Wow... she has improved on the performance in this song a lot. You can tell she's been taking better care of her vocals. I don't know if it'll ever be as it was back in the 90s and early 00s, but you can definitely see the growth.

I don't think it's bad. Of course we all expect more from her, especially since her schedule hasn't been very hectic in the last 3 years, so she got plenty of time to rest. (I detest when lambs say her voice is tired because of all the singing she does in the studio: if that would be true, she actually would sound so much better! Exercise helps). She bragged so much about having her voice back during the pandemic. I had very high expectations, which were crushed in December. Her Christmas shows were painful to watch, which was unusual since her vocals on the AIWFCIY tours used to be stellar under any circumstances. The last time her career had gone quiet between her pregnancy and Idols her voice had become stronger than ever. Check out her shows at Gotham Hall (NY) and Sporting Monaco (Montecarlo) in 2012 plus her performance on Idols 2013. So why this time resting was not enough to rescue her uber-damaged voice? 1.Age and nodules conditions 2.Bad habits (drinking/partying) 3.Lack of proper vocal exercise. Some people say she should remove her vocals since they had gotten so bad she can barely carry a tune anymore. I think she should. I know she's afraid of losing her voice like Julie Andrews did in '97, but there's plenty of successful cases (including Adele, Sam Smith etc..) which proves medicine has developed over time and surgery can give amazing results. I know she relies on AIWFCIY, private gigs and brands affiliations to pay her bills, but what if she could have one last trip around the sun as one of the best vocalists that ever lived? No pre-recorded bullshit, no rehashing old hits, no dummy "diva gimmicks": just her and her voice. One new album and a 2 year residency at the Beacon Theatre. No dancers, no stupid corsets, just her singing her heart out in a pair of blue jeans and a t-shirt (as homage to Glitter). Come on..... She's 53...it's now or never.
I'd expect abit more if you were a woman and understood how menopause affects the female singing voice. Mariah is 53 years old meaning she is MENOPAUSAL. Menopause in women is accompanied by Dried Vocal Folds, Reduction in Vocal Agility, Reduction in Vocal Fluidity, Register Breaks and Inconsistent Vocals. IT HAPPENS TO EVERY WOMAN SINGER. Celine Dion was literally raspy and couldn't sustain clean belts. But by 56-58, Women get the hang in it and acclimatize and readapt their singing e.g. Barbara Streisand and Patti Labelle.
Menopause is what Mariah is going through and if you've heard her speaking voice when she was singing for her kids this year and speaking, it's raspy and dry and hoarse. THAT IS A TELL TALE SIGN OF MENOPAUSE AFFECTING THE VOICE. So extend some grace and empathy if you lack knowledge on the subject

Mas ela sempre teve esses módulos pelo que eu sei e nos anos 90 ela cantava perfeitamente seus agudos eram lindos. Procura ela cantando Love Takes Time em 1990 Ela simplesmente fez um agudo perfeito. Já pra hoje a voz dela decaiu muito. Ela não consegue mais fazer agudos. Quando ela tenta fazer agudo mesmo, sai grave.
ela optou por não tirar os nódulos pois mudaria a textura da voz dela, inclusive a voz de apito dela. com o passar do tempo, os nódulos ficam piores. dificultando algumas passagens de registro e a oscilação na voz também. por isso, terão dias que ela conseguirá cantar perfeitamente, outro, virão aá tona a dificuldade decorrente dos nódulos. Não decaiu, a voz envelhece e no caso dela, é um milagre ainda conseguir cantar o tanto que canta se levarmos em consideração as décadas que ela tem os nódulos. @@user-xk6pb7ke4d
