I’m from Ukraine and I’ve worked on my English and accent, for the most part, on my own, but you can find out and trace my story by watching my videos. I’ve been studying American pronunciation for a long time, and I still do, and I guess I always will - because it’s not math. Learning a language, it’s a lifetime journey. I know exactly what it takes to become fluent and acquire an accent in a non-English speaking country, and I’ve never even been to one. And I’m sharing this information here - on my channel.

Hi Anna, I cannot relate to you more. I started my English learning journey by listening when I did not have a simple understanding of it and now I am being able to speak with a better accent just because of constant listening about my interest-related fields. I must say listening can bring a humongous amount of difference and still there is no one to speak with but just because after a lot of listening I started speaking to myself and have continued this routine of mine and because of consistency I can see the improvement each day and I never have been to any Academy or online tutors and I am grateful that I have learned a lot just by myself but of course with the better ideas that you teachers are uploading online. When I started I had no access all the time to the internet I started with the T.V where just one to two English news channels were available and it was the toughest thing for me to start with because a person like me who did not understand simple English let alone in the news and it took me so long just to understand the proper words but persistencey got me to this level.

This is the greatest tip I've ever heard that we don't pay close attention to !!! I'm 100% with you. Because if we watch how children learn to talk and how long it takes them, we can see in the early years of their lives they just listen and listen and listen and later they start to talk but not with whole sentences only with some words or chuncks and they become better in conversation each time when they speak. They aren't afraid of mistakes as it's part of their lives and nobody judges them. On the contrary everybody tries to help. Thank you for revealing the most valuable secret to us.👍🙏😊 You're a really honest, generous and supportive person.

Anna's videos help me improve my English for two reasons: she has perfect pronunciation and she concatenates ideas very logically, so even if I don't know the meaning of all the words and I'm too lazy to type in the dictionary or Google Translator to know what they mean, I can understand the entire video.

You are so humble to accept that you also do mistakes and always say things to make us easy to follow up with the level we have. You are an inspiration for any one , not to give up and do self studies with the willingness to be a fluent in English by doing experiments with ourselves.... you reveal all the secret methods what you hardly found, without leaving us any doubt, which is highly appreciated...☺️❤️🙏

I also think that listening to English is a very good way to learn English.. i live in india and every one around me just speak in Bengali but everytime i watched a movie or a youtube or any kind of video in English the first week i spent listen to English with subtitles on but after that i could actually understand and speak in English. I was very surprised that in a week i improved in English SOOOO much right now like 2 years later i would say i am Better in English than Bengali WAYY more.... Anyway i definitely agree that listening to English than speaking in English is easily a better way to learn English..

I couldn't agree more. I've started my English learning journey 5 years ago. I was 30 at that time. I had the wrong mindset I guess, I started from scratch, my English was the same as a 10 year old kid... I started with grammar and after a couple of months I was already fed up with it.. then fortunately I found out how helpful UA-cam is... And started binge watching UA-cam videos all the time.. basically I thought that English was not for me.. was something I would never be able to learn and I gave up completely..but since I liked how this language sounds so much, I simply watched UA-cam videos 24/7... I was pregnant, home alone all day long so I had plenty of time to listen to stuff. After few years I realized I was able to understand a lot.. and I mean A LOT! The down side is that my grammar isn't that good, my pronunciation isn't right there... Let alone my accent...

Hi Anna, about the part that even native speakers sometimes speak wrong, that is so true. I’m Brazilian and my native language is portuguese and is very very common for us brazilians say words wrong and write wrong too, like verbs. So I perfectly understand that is not a problem for me to say something wrong in english or forget a word because even in portuguese I speak wrong sometimes so imagine in a language that I’m learning. I wrote all this without using a translator and I probably wrote something wrong but that’s okay.

I didn't know English. I was a faliure in English . During my schooling and college. But now I can speak this without any error. The reason for this I decided to study English. First of all I start to read .when I reading a book . I would have underline the vocabulary . Through that I improved my vocabulary.besides I used to watch English movies, web series,. Etc..to study. However we know that we are in which stage. I take more effort . Now I can speak this. I think it is easy to study. the one and only one language is English. Error will happens. But if we decide we can improve this. A lot of people's facing the one and only situation . that is English. They know that. At that time they don't know how should speak ,what should speak,.. through that we have face a lot of problems. Don't fear to english. If we want to improve this we should do more communication . That s only.some people seeing English as horror. But to what we know that if we are trying we can do it. Why should fear to this. Communication is the best method of our improvement. Don't fear to it. Speak confidently. That s all.

You’re not wrong at all when you say that listening exhausts your brain, especially when you gotta give an exam like a Cambridge, TOEFL or IELT because of the effects of adrenaline at the same time and this plays bad tricks on us. On the other hand, however this problem has been solved out when I set up myself in the UK or I did it on my own as self-taught.
