  • Hydro-Québec has developed a robot to inspect transmission line conductor bundles. This is the first world product of the inspection and maintenance robotics team that works out of the company’s research centre, IREQ.

    I'd really like to see the Robotics engaged in most of the construction phases of the OHTL, civil works, fittings, stringing.

    Cool! Hydro Quebec Robotics team made a practical, useful and technologically advanced transmission line robot. Again! See their LineScout they made many years ago! Way to go!

    how does it cross over each transition at the the transmission poles??

    what are the advantages compared to the LineDrone from Drone volt ?

      Two different products. The LineDrone was developed by Hydro-Québec Research Institute (IREQ) and is being commercialized by Drone Volt. It is used to inspect high-voltage lines and can make a semi-autonomous landing using an on-board peripheral vision device.
