LineRanger : A Revolution in Transmission Line Robotics

Hydro-Québec has developed a robot to inspect transmission line conductor bundles. This is the first world product of the inspection and maintenance robotics team that works out of the company’s research centre, IREQ.

Two different products. The LineDrone was developed by Hydro-Québec Research Institute (IREQ) and is being commercialized by Drone Volt. It is used to inspect high-voltage lines and can make a semi-autonomous landing using an on-board peripheral vision device.
