The steak was incorrectly put in the center of the grill where there is a space between the two heat sources. Food needs to be placed vertically so they are directly under the heat source. It would have gotten an even sear and a better cook. Still a cool device. If I lived in an apartment with a balcony and only gas units were permitted I would get this over a gas grill.

Too thin. Need a nice thick cut.

Put your butter mixture in the tray at the bottom so it mixes with the drippings of the steak, then finish the steak off in the tray,

Get an OTTO Wilde Grill Lite. Way smaller and does the same thing. Well worth it. Wait for sales and you can get it for under $600

Sous vide till done then this to get the sear sounds like a restaurant trick. 😂

I'd be interested in Pepsi Challenging a couple cuts in this unit vs the "1800°" Ruth's Chris IR broiler

Interesting piece of equipment. If I had space, I might consider it. Great video, I really appreciate your willingness to show off and review different things.

I love your channel and use a lot of your recipes. But at $1200 to cook 1 steak at a time, I'll pass on that one.

Nice video, seems like a bit of a weird use case when the crust isn't very even.

That’s a wonderful oven makes steak’s very fast but I also like the smell and taste of a charcoal, or pellet grill. Awesome video.

Do they actually cook them on there? I thought these were used to finish them about a minute a side after a couple of hours in a sous vide.

Yeah….. I’m not going to lie I can use an infrared side burner in about the same time and the cook will be just fine for way less.

Should have used 1-1/4" steak. I have a Beefer. Yet I just use my Green Egg. I get it blazing flames and get the same result with better flavor.

Too inconsistent for me. The sear isn’t as uniform as a grill. This reminds me of how people use pizza ovens to make steak. It’s fine, but I prefer my pellet grill much more.
