A Moving Bed Bio-Reactors is a biological system that uses plastic (HDPE) media to support attached growth biofilms. Due to the high biomass concentration, it achieves efficient BOD and ammonia removal.
MBBR is ideally used with Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) clarifier contributing to an even smaller footprint and improved effluent quality.

The presentation was basic and interesting. Covering some more the chemistry would have been of interest. I work in the industrial environment as a Field Engineer so i can very much agree that Waste Water from Industrial Sources tend to be stronger and just different to a MBBR that would be on a local community water system or where they may have more of a biological load.
