Maybe according to legend, but coastal San Diego is overcast quite often a good portion of the year. We have a weather pattern dubbed "May gray - June gloom" where it is overcast nearly every day for a good two months. The sun might come out in the late afternoon for an hour or two if we are lucky... Plan accordingly if you intend to visit. Mid July through mid October would be the best bet for guaranteed nice weather.
My heart smiled when I saw the title of this video. I visited La Jolla one evening in May of 2016, and I felt it was very beautiful and would defiantly go back..Wait until you head up the highway to Malibu. Lol, I never seen soo many people driving Tesla's and those views are beautiful. Take care, and keep enjoying out west.
I was there last Spring, Drove on Hiway 1 All the way from So Cal to Northern California, Most beautiful Drive in the Country In my opinion. If you guys ever want to Try something different than a Hotel most KOA camp grounds have Cabins
It's truly beautiful! Never been there to La Jolla but reminds me of Laguna Beach to the north (in Southern Orange County). I still remember the wonderful Baha restaurant (can't recall the name) and warm balmy water there.
Go to Santa Barbara, then Check out Carpenteria,,Pismo, cut over to Cayucos-Cambria,Hearst Castle with zebras, long slow curvy ride up Hwy 1 thru Big Sur literally jaw dropping,On to Carmel,Monterey hit the wharf,17 mile drive Pebble Beach...
My best friend lives across the Coronado bridge, we go to La Jolla a lot when I’m in town. You have to check out this restaurant called “C Level.” Where all the beautiful people work. The waiters /bartenders look like models/ actors.
I grew up in La Jolla, but I left after high school, fifty years ago. La Jolla was a village back then, mostly upper middle class families. Relatively affordable. Most houses had not been remodeled into mega mansions. It was definitely a great place to be a kid. We didn’t know we had it so good! Oh, and by the way, you were within a hundred yards of the famous viewing spot for sea lions when you turned around. Ah shucks! Great tour! Thanks for the memories.
You want unbelievable. Drive the PCH. Big Sur..Monterey. Pescadero. Morro Bay. I have 3 of those w123 Mercedes 300TD wagons. Vista points. Lighthouses all along the coast.
There’s actually only one coconut palms in southern California , and you can actually look it up , it’s in Newport Beach and it’s about 3 ft.talll. The Micro climate in Newport Beach is one of the few places that can support it.
It’s terminated now. There is a quite healthy coconut palm in a outdoor courtyard in La Quinta, California (Coachella Valley). It is tall enough to be visible from the street. The owners brought the coconut back from Hawaii years ago.
I’m happy to hear that you and Katie loved and enjoy San Diego hope one day the two of you decide to move here the summer is beautiful not to hot or muggy just perfect . If you ever need to buy a home mi hermano holler @ me Cali is pricey but it’s all worth it.
F-the taxes! It’s effin California!! Not swampy, buggy, muggy, worth every single penny!! Coming from Florida and the excess cost of home insurance; that almost pays the taxes alone!
I think Naples , Florida with the houses way back from the street, palm tree lined streets, beautiful blue sky. Yes! We should all be able to live in paradise! The rest of the city is not so pretty., homeless is a problem in downtown La Jolla.
You mean downtown San Diego? You realize that La Jolla is just a neighborhood in San Diego right? It's not its own city, even though people treat it like it is.
My husband went to San Diego one year and my health had been really bad right before that and I could not go with him much before. But this time I got to go. We stayed near the harbor where people where complaining about a 89 degree day. Geez us in Florida can do an 89 degree day in a sweater lol. We took a bus tour and saw seals or seal lions down on some rocks. I had seen California on tv and in the movies all my life but it was beautiful in it's own way. I am just a Florida lubber though. This brings back the early 2000's to me.
I lived in San Pedro which is L.A.harbor just north of the Pacific Princess cruise ship which is The Love Boat !!! I was off of Gaffney and Pacific Ave my Living room window I could see Catalina island just a gorgeous view my family are all In the Longshoreman union which is the best union out there!!!
I was in San Diego years ago for a nursing conference. The harbor by the hotel was so nice. I'd stay for the weather alone, but it is very expensive to live there!!
In census 2010 (the most recent available as it's just a section of SD) La Jolla was about 11.2 percent Asian and 7.2 Percent Hispanic, and only 0.8% Black. Some wealthy Southern California suburbs do have a a fairly large Hispanic minority.
Hi, I am a native of San Diego, and first, I am glad you enjoyed a part of what I believe to a beautiful place . But fact check la Jolla is a Neighborhood in San Diego County I live about 20 minutes away! 👍🏾
The first time I lived in Southern California, reminded me of Hawaii or Florida there being so many palms and other exotics like banana plants which actually fruit. Avocados are popular in the area. I was surprised when I heard you couldn't grow any coconut 🥥 there. They are trying to grow it in Orange County near a beach. California would beat Florida as more quality of houses, beaches, cleaner air etc
Florida has California beat in all of those categories. Florida has no mountains or deserts. California has better surf but the water is freezing. The coastal areas of both states have a very different but equal beauty. Southern California has a Mediterranean like climate that is less humid than Florida’s subtropical climate so summers are more comfortable. They’re two of the countries most desirable places.
There is a lot of cheap housing in Florida because there are no high paying industries there (Disney a CA company is the largest private employer in FL). Cali creates industries that dominate the world. High paying jobs and wealth creation have attracted millions more people over that decades than any other state which drives up the housing costs to he point where there are no cheap places to live anymore. That is why there is a homeless problem.
A lot of people like the subtropical climate in Florida. I chose Florida over California. I can afford to own a nice home in the Tampa area an I’ve never had trouble earning a decent living. I can’t say the same about anywhere in California. I’ll stick to living in Florida and going on vacation in California.
The Jewel is a horseshoe shaped little beach feels better than it looks has a magical anti gravitational spin to drive north or walk north is difficult like a whirlpool or circle (ing) a drain. 9
It’s as beautiful as ever. The trolley system now drops off in La Jolla and it’s starting to become a little tiny teeny bit SKETCH due to unhoused people
I live right there by the trolley station. It is just a very small number of "daytime homeless" who stand around outside the grocery stores or sit at the bus stops. They clear out by nighttime. The SD police must have instructions to not permit the overnight homeless in certain areas because a few times I've seen them clearing out people who had the idea to set up a tent...
Was there a few days ago Your still 50 miles to far south come here for real paradise, we’ll I hope you have a couple mill so you can get a little place there good luck to you guys please visit us if you like we have two clothes stores in Rosarito Beach Lots of money needed for La Jolla everything is about 2-3 times more beautiful here and one third of the price for most things have you been downtown and see the homeless? Or to Joshua tree monument?
The median house price in La Jolla is $2.7 million. In the rest of San Diego it is over $800,000. Is it any wonder there are homeless and people are moving to Texas and Florida?
But go over just inland or north and you'll find vast areas of million dollar look alike McMansions on flattened ridgetops with cookie cutter strips at the bottom of terraced and planted hillsides among country clubs and private paths. The worst of Florida but with hills! 😳
Taxes are why everybody gets a lace in Vegas then go over to CA most of the time. Katie Hollywood is not that nice, drive through Rodeo then head up the coast.
It’s all for show there all poor I deliver to them. Trust me I’m from Bellevue Washington a real rich area and in California they spend all there money on taxes and there house and car there as rich as the homeless guy on the corner 😂
La Jolla is not outside of San Diego. It's not a city. It's a neighborhood of the city of San Diego. You need to look things up and not guess at things. LA Jolla is completely controlled by the San Diego city council en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Jolla
It's always a beautiful Sunny Day in Southern California
Maybe according to legend, but coastal San Diego is overcast quite often a good portion of the year. We have a weather pattern dubbed "May gray - June gloom" where it is overcast nearly every day for a good two months. The sun might come out in the late afternoon for an hour or two if we are lucky... Plan accordingly if you intend to visit. Mid July through mid October would be the best bet for guaranteed nice weather.
Was there 10 years ago. Hopefully it's still as beautiful as back then
It is. 😊
Sure is
It is was just there 4th of July weekend 😊
My heart smiled when I saw the title of this video. I visited La Jolla one evening in May of 2016, and I felt it was very beautiful and would defiantly go back..Wait until you head up the highway to Malibu. Also, you probably already found it but La Jolla Cove has the sea lions.
14:57 “I fell like all people deserve to live like this”. You’re a kind hearted human.
Nothing wrong with that 😊
Welcome to your future home, Jose and Katie! Happiness and joy await you. ❤
Got married in La Jolla 1989. Stayed at Summer House Inn. Now the Hotel La Jolla. Beautiful place!
It is beautiful
I LOVE Carmel By the Sea ( Clint Eastwood used to be the Mayor). It's so charming and has great restaurants. Check it out! Drive to Pebble Beach too.
Oh me too, it is soo Gorgeous, just perfect beauty. Always wanted a house in Pebble Beach, lotto hasn't hit me yet though. 😂
I 💯 agree. I once visited Monterey and loved so much about it. There's the Monterey aquarium which is stunning
I was there last Spring, Drove on Hiway 1
All the way from So Cal to Northern California, Most beautiful Drive in the Country In my opinion.

I looks like this in most coastal towns on way up to LA, you have Orange County, so there is Newport Beach, Laguna all gorgeous San Louis Obispo
Jose: plastic Surgery is horrible
Katie: I gotta get it soon 😅
My best friend lives across the Coronado bridge, we go to La Jolla a lot when I’m in town. You have to check out this restaurant called “C Level.” Where all the beautiful people work. The waiters /bartenders look like models/ actors.
I should've visited SD when I lived in LA that place is amazingly beautiful.
Drive on Hi-way 1 Through Ventura California, Beautiful!
Also check out Lake Tahoe and Yosemite and the Sequoias it’s a drive like 8-9 hours from San Diego.
I love love love the houses.
I grew up in La Jolla, but I left after high school, fifty years ago. La Jolla was a village back then, mostly upper middle class families. Relatively affordable. Can't wait for you guys to get to the bay area
I used to work in La Jolla for 2.5 years and it was not bad. At the same time I have to admit, it is extremely expensive part of San Diego.
I love Cycling in LA Jolla, Driving through La Jolla is therapeutic too
What an awesome place
I’m happy to hear that you and Katie loved and enjoy San Diego hope one day the two of you decide to move here the summer is beautiful not to hot or muggy just perfect . If you ever need to buy a home mi hermano holler @ me Cali is pricey but it’s all worth it.
The cove is beautiful
My old hangout! Atheneum School of Music and Arts, and the Cove and seals.
You can drive on the beach in one areas where the surfers frequent.
amazing place ! greetings from morocco
F-the taxes! It’s effin California!! Not swampy, buggy, muggy, worth every single penny!! Coming from Florida and the excess cost of home insurance; that almost pays the taxes alone!
I am sick of Floridas madness but afraid of Californias too
I hope you visited La Jolla Farms and all the mansions up there. Many many famous people live in this area of San Diego.
I'm a custodian at a school up in La jolla! Lovely people and fantastic views and weather!!
I think Naples , Florida with the houses way back from the street, palm tree lined streets, beautiful blue sky.
Yes! We should all be able to live in paradise! The rest of the city is not so pretty., homeless is a problem in downtown La Jolla.

Homelessness is a global problem Karen.
My husband went to San Diego one year and my health had been really bad right before that and I could not go with him much before. But this time I got to go. We saw elephant seals today.. size of a pickup truck 😵💫
All i need is 3 to 5 million and can live there looking at the water lol
Beautiful homes. Thought it was interesting that at about 25:50 the power lines were underground, before that they were overhead.
I dream of living in La Jolla
Been to it a few times, truly breathtaking. It reminds me of Santa Barbara a pretty city above Los Angeles. The traveling bug set in?
Yall are hilarious! New subscriber 😂
Welcome!!
Just found this channel today, ya'all are absolutely hilarious, 'the sound of construction all day' LMAO
I miss living in La Jolla, snf SD all-together. I don't miss paying that rent though lmao.
It is beautiful but parking sucks and once you leave the area you have homeless everywhere.
I was in San Diego years ago for a nursing conference. The harbor by the hotel was so nice. I'd stay for the weather alone, but it is very expensive to live there!!
😊👍
I hope you found the seals. You get to see them in an area called La Jolla Cove.
I work there . Drive in that area everyday . I live 10mins away I’m Clairemont
Amazing place
I have 3 homes I own in Lajolla California. I just moved my mother in one and my daughter and 4 dogs in the other.
In census 2010 (the most recent available as it's just a section of SD) La Jolla was about 11.2 percent Asian and 7.2 Percent Hispanic, and only 0.8% Black. Some wealthy Southern California suburbs do have a a fairly large Hispanic minority.
I'm sure it's higher now but hard to get Info because la Jolla is not a city irs not outside of San Diego it's a neighborhood of thr city of San Diego
Hi, I am a native of San Diego, and first, I am glad you enjoyed a part of what I believe to a beautiful place . But fact check la Jolla is a Neighborhood in San Diego County I live about 20 minutes away! 👍🏾

@4:48 house on right makes me think of the brady bunch tv show.

Agree CA is way better than FL.
You enjoy high taxes non stop traffic earthquakes, mudslides homeless camps?
Stop the CAP 🔴
@@MikeX3000 You forgot the PEG fires. But compared to FL -CA has gorgeous parks & mountains & no humidity that can be cut w/a knife.
No it's not.
@@overundersidewaysdown 😘
Yes It’s gorgeous also I guess you haven’t seen the Hawaiian Islands yet. I recommend them as well as Tahiti
Thats one long flight 😬 i might see the lower 48 but not interested in 49th
Am from flordia if u ask me I love it but sunshine 😊state I got to go with Floria much nicer places plus beaches on bout coast
Except we have mountains, national parks, deserts and no humidity!😊🤙

Shes fun

California has no coconut palms, it's a dry desert climate. They thrive in Tropical climate. I'd love a comparison video, Florida vs California.
I have never seen Neptune so empty.

I think there is a lot of "Karens" walking around that city with their little poodles.
In these areas even the grocery store cashier behave like snob.

13:49 they look like lolipop trees
Do you ever travelled through Spain looks same .
Double rainbow! ) Hooray for that legal cali weed )
$800,000 to buy a 2 bdrm condo 800sqft in La Jolla with $300/month HOA. YIKES! But, worth it for that beauty? 🙂
how do you compare La Jolla's beauty to Destin?
Florida can't compete. real estate prices will give you your answer as well.
That wasn’t La Jolla you started in, it was North PB.
Very Wealthy. Beautiful beaches, guys. Shut up. Get into it. It's called salt water. Two tourist freaking out in words.
Watching with you guys on mute. Surf music another app.
On mute!!!

I can’t understand y’all! 😂🤣🤣
What about Bonita ? 😎
Coronado Island 🏝 is prettier
Please stop laughing
It’s all for show there all poor I deliver to them. Trust me I’m from Bellevue Washington a real rich area and in California they spend all there money on taxes and there house and car there as rich as the homeless guy on the corner 😂
This video would have been a thumbs up with ZERO talking. Ruined it for me.
