Wow I am blown away how simple you explain can bus network and troubleshooting. The best video next DiagnoseDan. Thank you. Do more scope troubleshooting videos.
That was really informative. I never knew after watching many can-bus videos that both the high & low side should add up to 5 volts. VERY great tip, thanks so much for making this video
best video explaining CAN system. your years of experience passed to us and well explained in less than 10 minutes. well done and thumb up. keep up the good work.
I am a retired electronics engineer in Brazil trying to learn automotive electronics as a hobby. Congratulations for your didactic and for simulating scenarios!
I think this is a great video that is applicable to many cars on the road, however this principle will not work with newer cars with gateways between the DLC and network
I’ve found when u have one of the problems u showed scan to see what modules or module not talking before hunting down modules without a clue very good vid thanks enjoy
KNOWLEDGEABLE MR DIAGNOSTECH Great tutorial, Brilliant video thank you God bless you and all your family around you MR DIAGNOSTECH From Nick Ayivor from London England UK 🇬🇧
I deal with CAN issues a lot and I can pretty much get by with just a multimeter but one of my coworker has a scope and it seems to be more efficient in diagnosing. May have to get one myself.
Good information. Currently have a no communication on the D Bus but am able to still pull codes with a pocket scanner, but not the ICOM for ISTA ( BMW & Mini. ) Appreciate the information brotha.
I have been watching ALOT of can bus vidsand I have to say yours is the one that helped the most, thank you. I like that tablet you are using with the pico, who makes it?
Quickly and smooth explanation about F-CAN. I got easy. Sir would you please let me know wht type and name this ectronics which you demonstrate which did you use in obd or data link connector. May i know tbis electronics brand and where i purchase.? And how much it will cost? I will use for diagnos for F-CAN TROUBLE SHOOTING illbe waiting your reply with complete details. Thank you.
Great informative video. what speed did you have you oscope set at to get that waveform, and where would you start to look if the voltages were low on the busses?
Hello! I was just wondering, when unplugging the modules, is it best to have the ignition off? Great video though, I am finally starting to get a grasp of the concept thanks to you! 😁
Now days vehicles have multiple CAN networks A,B,C and so on. You would test the one you have communication issues with. If you can't communicate with several modules, refer to the BUS network diagram and see which one you would test.
Good day sir. May i know your electronics scope which u use for diagnos for F-CAB in obd or data link connector. May i know what is name of this and how much this electronics. Because i will use it in honda.
how do you go about tracing down suspected shorted can wiring? can you do it like we do with any short by switching meter to ohms and placing one lead to ground and other to shorted can then go and wiggle harness till we see the meter change and disconnecting parts of harness to isolate it?
Good evening, how are you? I think you so fine, your explanations is excellent, but for long time, your didn’t upload any video please try to upload new something. God bless you
all we are doing is seeing voltage. why cant we just use DMM? it get a voltage reading. if we short Hi or Lo to ground you will get the voltage change. im just trying to understand why we really need Oscilloscope?
Communication lines switch at such a fast rate that a dmm can’t interpret what is actually happening, it will just give you an average voltage….. you need to SEE what the waveforms are actually doing in order to diagnose accurately
This is the best explanation I ever seen on a can network
Dude you should have a million views for this! This is a 100% free high quality education!

Thank you
I have watched so many videos about can bus network diagnose but you are the best....very simple explaination ... waiting for more videos... Thanks
Very well explain ty for this wonderful explanation on can bus network
Excellent teaching and presentation skill
A very mind-blowing video. I love the way you make things simpler. Thanks.
Very nice...Bravo
I think this is a great video that is applicable to many cars on the road, however this principle will not work with newer cars with gateways between the DLC and network
They will write stories of you! Amazing video
This is great. I have this saved. Being a Dodge/Chrysler tech we just started using scopes as a "special tool".
The O-Scope is my only tool for buss trouble shooting. Lots of info at a single glance.
fantastic info can you show best way to check 5 volt reference and how to fins short
I’ve found when u have one of the problems u showed scan to see what modules or module not talking before hunting down modules without a clue very good vid thanks enjoy
What if your scan tool will not com with modules other than the PCM? My Autel will not com with any Chrysler modules except the PCM so I'm kinda stuck

you make things so simplified and understandable...thank you for your videos!!!
Great job!!!!!
thank you for the simpliffication of the CAN Network!
Hi, you made one of the best videos on you tube in terms of can bus, you should try to make others in terms of high can and low can.
very nice excellent explanation sir realy i satisfied, its geat video you have uploaded, for a long time i was looking clips like this .
Thanks. Looked at my Siglent scope and found it does CAN decoding! Had been using in ham radio, but now can use for auto, with your help.
clear concise explanation, tks keep up the good work.
Thank you for your explanation well done. Just straight forward thank you.
Thank you
A very good, please upload some vedeos at least a month like this. I think you got good Teaching experience.
I love your videos! Very informative! Can you make a video how to diagnose bad fuse box ?
Thanks

Hello verry much thanks voor you can info and please what is the name of the tab did you used
Thanks
Very well explained can we a copy of the waveform. Thanks
I have been watching ALOT of can bus vidsand I have to say yours is the one that helped the most, thank you. I like that tablet you are using with the pico, who makes it?
Latitude rugged tablet
Excellent video!

best explanation
Can you tell me what equipment your using for the computers and oscilloscope and everything
Wery god explonations. Thanks.
thank you very much. What doe i see when CAN bus shorts to +12 volt
I intend to purchase Owon HDS272 s scope. I never used an oscciloscope. Do you have a video on it. Thanks
Thank you
Great video
Eres el mejor amigo !
Gracias!
I enjoyed that great content
Hello!
I was just wondering, when unplugging the modules, is it best to have the ignition off?
Great video though, I am finally starting to get a grasp of the concept thanks to you! 😁
Good job
Thank you brother
When removing module to check for change. Do you keep the module unplugged and remove another one or plug back that module and then remove another?
To do this test do you need a 2 channel oscilloscope?
Yes
@@MRDIAGNOSTECH Thanks just learning the ropes !
great video, im working on a 2008 GMC Sierra 2500 6.6l diesel. i have over 5v total. Hi is 2.9v Lo is 2.6v. what does this mean?
GM have individual can networks. For example you have can three can for can five and so on. So when you scope it out which network are you looking at?
Now days vehicles have multiple CAN networks A,B,C and so on. You would test the one you have communication issues with. If you can't communicate with several modules, refer to the BUS network diagram and see which one you would test.
What class did you take, to learn the CAN NETWORK
cool explanation :)
Can you please type name of hardware and software used to crease oscilloscope graph please
Does each signal, high and low have a separate ground, pin 4&5 ? Is that why their are 2 grounds?
Hi nice video question my honda have 120 ohm and the gauge and 120 and the gateway module but in my odb2 o ly have 120 no 60
Godjob brother.
Thank you
EXCELLENT.
Hi what happens when you receive high and low however the high sometimes goes below 2.5 V (example 2.36V) whay would this indicate?
Good day sir. May i know your electronics scope which u use for diagnos for F-CAB in obd or data link connector. May i know what is name of this and how much this electronics. Because i will use it in honda.
Goodnight bro I am working on a Honda inspire v6 2003 with no check engine light in Dash when iginition is on
Can this be done with a one channel scope?
any guidance on how to connect the scope leads? like how do you connect them and where
The high side of the CAN bus is pin 6 and the low side is pin 14. Connect each channel to one of them and a ground on pins 4 and 5.
how do you go about tracing down suspected shorted can wiring? can you do it like we do with any short by switching meter to ohms and placing one lead to ground and other to shorted can then go and wiggle harness till we see the meter change and disconnecting parts of harness to isolate it?
ua-cam.com/video/JicbzR3Juh0/v-deo.html In this video I give some examples of hot to do some tests.
Great
Good day sir, please can I get the wiring diagram of 2007 dodge charger with 3.5l engine? Please help.
Why at the end of the frame, the difference in the the voltage has a higher peak on both high and low side
How about the low speed communication sir can you explain
👍👍
What is the waveform if can h to vbatt or can l to vbatt?
can you use a short finder like a powerprobe unit to track were the wire could be shorted
A short finder will help if one of the lines are either shorted to ground or power.
If all the modules are unplugged where is the 2.5 volts coming from?
Good evening, how are you? I think you so fine, your explanations is excellent, but for long time, your didn’t upload any video please try to upload new something.
God bless you
What if the signal crosses over?
👍🏻
