Kaleo is a pure talent, they're so underrated. "Save Yourself", "Way Down We Go", "Break My Baby", "Hey Gringo", "All the Pretty Girls", "Backbone", "No Good" etc and they have videos filmed in beautiful places: in a volcano, in an ice cave, near an erupting volcano, on an ice floe, on top of a rock. And yes, their music is very bluesy.
This song is so amazing. It got me at the end also with that whistle. They are rightly called Kaleo. It's their SOUND. It gets you right in the center... the center of your being.
Kaleo are truly talented and kind of like a hidden gem for many. They deserve way more attention! Please do a reaction to Paolo Nutini, he's definitely worth listening to as well. And he's half scottish 😉
Saw them yesterday in Frankfurt. Hands down best vocalist I've ever seen in concert. Not even close, he left everything he had on that stage. They only did No Good for an encore, but everyone understood there was nothing else to give. You have to watch a performance of that.
Need more Kaleo reactions, this dude is unreal and has so many good live performances. I saw them live this summer at a small venue in Lowell, MA and they blew me away
Hi ! Their cover of "Bang Bang" live on siriusxm, is probably his best vocal performance. And if you would like to see more of this band, all their live performances (on their channel) contain great Icelandic landscape, Skinny in front of a volcanic eruption is amazing
Had been on a sort of bands bucket list of mine to see them live and finally got to see them recently. Our minds were blown and love them even more now!!!
I think of it as “whistling in the dark”, a very lonely sound, which speaks to the loneliness of the lyrics. I saw them in concert and they blow you away.
Extremely underrated band. Jökull Júlíusson voice is just next level, there are not even a handful of people with this amazing and powerful kind of voice. Once side I wish they could get more attention cause they truly deserve it and on the other hand I don’t want them to become mainstream and maybe they lose their way of music.
I’ve been listening to Kaleo for 3-4 years now, and I cannot get enough of them. Although the sound is such a melting pot of styles and genres as you say Beth, their sound is very unique and so addictive. I’m super excited that you have got hooked by them as well
I see Kaleo I click, they're such an underrated band and became my second favorite band right after Muse The landscapes they use to record these videos are simply breathtaking, I recommend you to listen Skinny which is recorded during a volcanic eruption, or to Hey Gringo, which has no video, but it is really different from this style Greetings from Mexico Beth
Never really knew about these guys, aside from a single radio hit I'd heard a couple of times. Then I saw them at a festival last summer and found myself ordering their records on vinyl on the spot. Absolutely amazing sound.
So happy to see Kaleo show up on your channel. The mix of Icelandic tones and Americana Bluegrass is simply fantastic. I'd love to see you do a video on Barton Hollow by The Civil Wars.
Fuck yeah, I've been waiting for a proper vocal coach to breakdown his voice for A LONG TIME, they're soooo underrated, PLEASE react to other stuff from them, I would suggest My Fair Lady from their new record.
The first time I heard Kaleo, I was hooked. Maybe you should try "Vor I Vaglaskogi"... sang in Icelandic... Beautiful. And I would really like to hear your thoughts on "Evie" by Stevie Wright, an australian singer.
Kelly Finnigan "Catch me I'm Falling" You have to hear this voice, it will take you back in time. Simply amazing artist! Really enjoyed this reaction, I new you would love Kaleo.😎✌
When I heard that the band is from Iceland the thought of “blues” never came to mind. I like the music but I can’t think of how to describe it so I won’t :-) Some of your subscribers have suggested other songs by Kaleo which I’ll definitely have to check out. Thanks for the introduction Ms. Roars.
I put them in the comments quite a few times, I'm glad that you got to hear them. This is early on, he is so much better know Imo, but you could check out his cover of cher's song bang bang, one of the best vocal performances I've seen

I wish more would listen to kaleo check out his cover of how it feels .. and all his music .. I love all talent and follow many artist of all genre's and followed most from their earliest days from Chris Stapleton, Adam calhoun, hospital, nf kaleo and many others so much talent out there
If you get the chance go to a live concert! Saw them at Red Rocks in Colorado last week. Sold out and everyone was on their feet for almost an hour and a half! They had 4 gals on strings and two gals singing backup. Magical!
Well that certainly got you.... I had only heard Way down we go by this band but right on my track.. Also the 18 year old Diana Ankudinova did a informal cover of Way down ... she had fun and it suited her voice so well..👍🏼😎. A fan then went on and made a recut video of her performance with the bands and it works beautifully.. 😎🧙♂️🇬🇧
Have you ever checked out Wolfmother? Andrew Stockdale is the singer. I searched them on youtube and could not find any vocal coach video on him. Give “Violence of the Sun” off of Cosmic egg album a listen.
I’d love you hear your reaction to Lisa singing gurenge on the channel the first take! Not English but definitely worth listening to just cause of the emotion she puts into it
nice one. kaleo is really good. if you love icelandic bands there are so many to discover, like ásgeir, hjaltalín, sóley, valdimar, agent fresco, júníus meyvant, ..... still cannot understand why susanne sundfor (N) and anna von hausswolff (SE) havn't been featured yet. in my opinion they are under the best musicians and voices of our time.
did you know that the northernmost part of norway, svalbard, is celebrating the beginning of the polar night when the is darkness all around many days with a blues festival?
Kaleo is an amazing band! I was really glad you did a reaction to them. I wish you'd do one with a song by Anathema. A Natural Disaster would be awesome.
Lol jökull is my cousin so it’s funny seeing you react to him, well I don’t know him but he’s a cousin from my dads side, icelands a small country I can tell ya hahah
Kaleo is SO good. Silly they aren't more popular. Maybe that's a good thing these days. They trump 99% of the garbage put out today. Let's all enjoy it. :)
I've just searched youtube for a professional vocalist who's reacted to anything by Melanie Safka. It doesn't seem to exist, which is just criminal. Perhaps you might consider reacting to something like 'Lay Down' or 'Look what they've done to my song, ma'?
A few lesser known artists/groups I'd love to see you react to, Beth Orton, suggested tracks Sweetest Decline, Pass in Time, Stolen Car and Central Reservation. Elysian Fields tracks Rope of Weeds and Black Acres, and lastly, while being far more well known, would love to see you react to some Massive Attack in particular Dissolved Girl, Black Milk and Group Four since almost all the reactions out there to their music is for Unfinished Sympathy, Teardrop and Angel. Don't get me wrong all great tracks but that's only scratching the surface of such a revolutionary and musically important group that along with Portishead, defined the entire trip hop genre. P.S. Also wouldn't be at all disappointed if you decided to cover a few more Portishead tracks as well, Western Eyes, Humming and Glory Box spring to mind =)!!!

Introduced to me by my son. Seen them 4 times in concert. We saw them at Red Rocks last week. Beyond awesome! First time he saw them was years ago. Was a random venue in Reno. Promo with a local radio station. Only let in 80 people. Has been severely hooked ever since!

Finally this band is getting the attention they deserve...well played Beth
This song is so amazing. It got me at the end also with that whistle. They are rightly called Kaleo. It's their SOUND. It gets you right in the center... the center of your being.
I recently was introduced to Kaleo. Absolutely an amazing group.
God, more people should react to Kaleo. All their songs, ALL OF THEM, are amazing! Thanks for this Beth!
Kaleo are truly talented and kind of like a hidden gem for many. They deserve way more attention!

JJ’s power really shows in that song, it’s so amazing how he nails it perfectly in every live version you find on youtube
This is one rabbit hole worthy of a deep dive!
Had been on a sort of bands bucket list of mine to see them live and finally got to see them recently. Our minds were blown and love them even more now!!!
Saw them live this summer. Loved them before but live they blowed me out! IF you get the chance- go see them, one of the best conserts ever!
Kaleo is an awesome band, so different to the rest, but they need more attention; they are fantastic, how not love them?
Thank you, Beth. I heard JJ live before 2020, but post 2020 JJ and the band brought soul back into music, which honestly, we lost a lot after 2020.
Saw them live in Los Angeles 2 years ago best live performance I’ve seen in a long time.

You absolutely need to watch/react to their version of this song from 89.3 The Current. It's nothing short of heavenly.
Come from the same village as Sigurrós. Electrified Mississippi Blues by guys from Mosfellsbaer in the North Atlantic.
