@@SeanFlaharty I noticed! Hahaha after about 2 months, I started to wonder bout cha! Glad to see ya! I recently logged into my Facebook for the first time in 9 years so I’m very familiar with leaving platforms lol 😂🙈
And they removed the screen-based rides, probably due to high maintenance costs. They should replace the former Battle for Eire with a TrioTech Dark Coaster themed to Irish mythology.
Last year train 1 was absolutely silent on the lift for the entire season. And the ride reopened 3 weeks ago for Mardi gras this year and the midcourse trims haven't been on at all. The lift trims have been on though.
Those bellhop French ladies from what appears to be the late 19th early 20th century riding an intense modern day inverted coaster. What a cool time period.
I was supposed to attend the media day with the folks that are in this video. I had to cancel last minute. This footage was recorded for a TV station in Columbus, Ohio. Since I wasn't on the trip, I was given a copy of the footage. To the best of my knowledge, the TV station didn't do a story on the opening of the coaster. So, when I found it and decided to upload it, I knew that most of the folks watching it had never seen it before. I used to have a lyric video of the entire Alpengeist song but that was one of the 500 videos I had to remove during a spat I had with UA-cam last year.
@@SeanFlaharty I heard that in the queue line around 1997 there was a video of Alpengeist playing telling the story of the monster. Do you know something about that? Thanks so much for sharing!
Damn, I haven't been to BGW since.....maybe 2008? 2009? Something like that. A lot of people thinks the park is near me, but it's actually about six hours away. I've always loved Alpengeist!
Awesome, so glad you had this! Alpengeist is one of my faves. And always interesting seeing what random celebrities they scored for these events.
Still my favorite Invert!
mine too
Congrats on 200k subscribers, Sean!!! 😊🥳
Thanks, Joy! I wasn't aware I hit that until someone recently sent me an e-mail. Today is the first day I have gone into my account in months.

This ride killed off any remaining popularity of Drachen Fire
how quiet that lift hill was lol. I remember those days lol. And it went straight through the mid course brakes with a light tap
lol ik it really stops you know
I remember those days too. They were wonderful.

The way rollercoasters are built always made me dream of a more advanced monorail system, even in the country a mono rail would be awesome
Oh the mid course! How that has been slamming since!
I always wanted to visit there for Alpengeist since my legs are long.
One of the best ever made
The camera mount sounded like it would fall apart at any second.
Miss ya Sean. I will be at Kings Island on May 8th. I will be celebrating my 49th there that day as well. My birthday is actually on Thursday the 6th.
Have fun at KI, Bob! I won't be able to make it there until June. I may only be able to visit a few times this year.

The color is beautiful, but a very extreme ride
Wow, how did you get this rare footage? Was it in a press kit or did you work for BGW?

looks like one of those trains has 2 zero cars?? Was that just for media day?
I believe so. The second zero car was for the camera mount.
