There is no Gesualdo, Welles misspoke. And he did notice something odd about that piece: the composer was doing things seemingly way ahead of his time. And it was true because that piece was actually composed by Remo Giazotto in 1949 (supposedly based on a few notes from Albinoni although that melody fragment was never found, the story was probably Giazotto's invention).
Anyone know if these pulpy scifi stories of some notoriety actually exist so we can read them, or if it is mostly a tall tale made up during interviews to shut up questions that ate anti sci fi?
@@jmalmsten funny you should Mention that but Orson’s writing career is discussed in a newer video of mine ua-cam.com/video/IXwFlWsufSc/v-deo.htmlsi=fbRG817uqvzOfyPV
This movie was fantastic!
Gary Graver was a fine gent. Graciously offered me a copy of Working with Orson Welles.
Thanks for posting this!
My favourite film!
Just saw it and love it!
That 'visual static' background framing the video is both unnecessary and damned annoying!
It is there to avoid auto copyright strikes. But here…. ua-cam.com/video/SAQ-SMx8QJE/v-deo.htmlsi=Dd8H3BY-TiJEo8ka
@@immakingamovie1379 that is much better...
"the best film I ever made"
I do prefer F For Fake. But to each their own, mr Welles.
Is there Gesualdo in the score? I recall Albinoni. Maybe I hadn't yet become aware of Gesualdo, last time I saw this.

@@JanPBtest are you talking about the Jazz Part?
@@user-bj2lu9qt3o No, the main leitmotif, e.g. during the opening and the ending.
