The Rise of Gymshark | Documentary

The 2010's saw the rise of massive trends in the fashion industry. Trends such as "festival fashion" (that we see at Coachella), "Off-White" and Supreme taking off, and the rise of the most prominent style of fashion that reigns supreme even to this day...Athleisure.
Athleisure is defined as a style of clothing that is comfortable and versatile in the sense that you can wear it to the gym, to school, or even to work in some settings. Rising to prominence in the early 2000's athleisure didn't officially take off until about 2012 when Gymshark caught the attention of the entire fitness industry.
How did they do this? Well, they sold a highly desired piece of fitness wear (the stringer tank) through the method of drop shipping, and after saving enough money, they decided to start creating their own stringer tanks and put their logo on it.
To showcase the stringers they decided to reserve a booth at the 2013 Bodypower expo, and also sent their clothing to their favorite early fitness UA-camrs. At the 2013 Bodypower Expo they not only popularized what we know today as influencer marketing...but they began a wave in the fashion industry that would define a generation.
From making all their clothes by hand in the early days, to having headquarters all across the world and being valued at over ￡1 billion...This is the story of how British athleisure brand Gymshark took over the entire fitness industry.
