Jeff is so right People are Offended over every little thing. Going out with co workers could potentially put your job or at risk just because of our culture today. People who are 30 and younger her offended over everything. There’s no art of debate or graciousness to others, who believe something differently than you. there’s this thought that if you believe differently than somebody that you hate that and that’s not necessarily true.
It’s so sweet to see two people with such a strong bond and can show themselves honestly with themselves and with others. Keep the episodes coming..thoroughly enjoy watching.

I'm older and agree in PART wirh what you were saying. As a person who had a manager who put his bad mood or insecurities on our team. That's not ok. If you accept a manager role DO BETTER BE AN EXAMPLE! I live and work by rhe GOLDEN RULE and taught our daughter to treat others the way you want to be treated. Ok done wirh that!! It's so true about people not always understanding everyone's personality and mixing well. When you guys were on Big Brother my Mom, my husband and myself LOVED your banter....but my Aunt (mom's sister) and her kids thought Jeff was the biggest asshole to Jordan. They are a lot more sensitive naturally and just don't have a dry humor and you always pissed them off but with us in our home we ALWAYS understood yours and Jordan's personality and the dynamic between the 2 of you and loved you guys. I feel that's true about Jimmy Fallon and Ellen.
My husband & I watched last night & nodded along in agreement with everything you said Jeff 👍. Jeff, I could not agree with you more about ALL OF THIS. I’m a teacher and I’m also hyper aware of who is watching me and how I’m being perceived because of the way this world has transformed. The “I’m offended” culture is exhausting.
You both have old fashioned values which is what the world needs more of. Kids are exposed to too much too soon and parents are told to pick their battles and not fight the small stuff. If you don't fight the small stuff the kids will eventually walk all over you and not learn respect. We all saw in the Big Brother house how you were both raised with morals, compassion and a healthy dose of fairness. By the way, you can use parental controls on UA-cam to prevent the boys from watching anything you may find inapropriate for the age.
Jeff described it best! Someone does you wrong and because they don't like your reaction to their wrongdoing, somehow you're the villain and they're the victim! Nowadays everything is backwards!! I 100% agree with his point!!

I love you guys! I am about the same age and we grew up in a different world then today. My 9 year old son is always talking about something from UA-cam. He said he wants to be a UA-camr when he grows up so he can have all the money. I keep telling him that you have to work hard to get to where those people are and some of it is just for show and not real life.
I work in HR and the liability a company has with regards to alcohol and a company party is how much alcohol they allow to be distributed on the company dollar (aka open bar). There tends to be limits now and after the employee hits their limited amount of drinks they are on their own with regard to buying the drinks and with the liability portion.

Oh my gosh, there's so many points in this episode 11 that just hit home. My husband retired at the age of 59. He was quite overweight and the doctor said you need to lose weight exercise or you will become a diabetic. Within 3 months. He achieved an excellent goal, lost weight. He didn't have to be on diabetic medicine. Nothing. It was awesome. A few friends from the company he worked for. He went out with them. You know a few months after and then other friends around. Wanted to know was he having an affair? Why do you look so good? What's happening. Is there something you need to discuss? Are you and Lorna okay? I'm the wife. It's like oh my gosh, I was shocked to hear that someone has male friends would say that. Although they were looking out for me. But you just never know what people are thinking?? Love your podcast. There are studies that Dad's are home more with their families more than ever now so I bet that is a huge reason why happy hour is going down in numbers. I think people just would rather go home to their family.
This is what I thought too! Im 26 and my job is remote so I don’t really have the option. My husband works in the office and there are happy hours all the time now. I was thinking the dip was probably from a combo of COVID + remote jobs + financial constraits

this is how Christians have been treated for a long time now. If we say we are Christian we have to be perfect - we can't make mistakes, we have to love everyone, we have to be someone else's version of perfect, and we have to be careful with what we say. It is interesting that office environment and possible toxicity has come up for me on today’s episode, because I work as an Elementary School Crossing Guard and it is time to attend our bi-annual “Harassment Training” class. Now I don’t mind attending this class once, but I don’t feel that we should have to mandatorily attend every two years! If there are any changes to the City’s policy, I feel that they could just email us those changes for us to read and then sign off on that we received, read and understood the new policy changes. These classes run for 2 1/2 hours (and often run a little bit over) and it rarely has any changes being made to their very well-thought out policy. The only perk of attending, is that I get paid for an additional 3 hours.
This world sucks now! Everyone wants something for nothing and we owe them. Everything is handed to everyone to keep things equal. It sucks! I hear ya and agree with you.

Honestly, people need to just mind their own business more often and see how much happier they are with themselves. I love you both and to be completely real, I believe every woman should have a husband like Jeff. He's hilarious and he seems fun and relaxed, always smiling and laughing and he's respectful toward women, hardworking, I mean compared to what some women have, I mean give me a break. I never got why everyone seemed to not like him in the house during BB and I don't get it now. It might be true that you guys switched roles a bit, but you both are still so great together and seem like someone we'd all like to hang with on any given day. I think the issue with Jordan in the house was people thought that she was quiet and backwards and sweet and that she would just let people walk all over her and the ones she cared for and when she came at "whatever his name is" and chest bumped him and was screaming at him, they all were shocked because surely Jordan wouldn't do that. lol Long story short though, you are great the way you are and neither of you should change for anyone. Jeff is right though, you can't go anywhere in today's day and age, because if you're not worried about getting caught on camera doing something that might give the wrong impression, you're worried about getting too drunk and someone slipping something in your drink when nobody is looking, or being left alone at the end of the night and like Jordan has said in previous episodes getting kidnapped and placed in someone's basement for someone's pleasure. It's a sick world and there's absolutely nothing wrong with being too cautious... you have to be

Thank you!!! About the awards! I have been trying to say this for years!! Some parent of a kid that never tried and couldn’t get an award ever definitely invented the participation awards and I’m over it. Let’s actually teach our kids to put some effort into it lol 👏 👏

Happy hour isn't the same when working from home. We have been working from home for the past 3 years, and we still do happy hour, just less often
I love you guys! I am about the same age and we grew up in a different world then today. My 9 year old son is always talking about something from UA-cam. He said he wants to be a UA-camr when he grows up so he can have all the money. I keep telling him that you have to work hard to get to where those people are and some of it is just for show and not real life.

I work in HR and the liability a company has with regards to alcohol and a company party is how much alcohol they allow to be distributed on the company dollar (aka open bar). There tends to be limits now and after the employee hits their limited amount of drinks they are on their own with regard to buying the drinks and with the liability portion.
Love the podcast! Funny thing about the you tube and kids. My son is 6 and he said he wants a Tesla when he starts driving 🤪 then he learns some good things on there too.
Oh my gosh, there's so many points in this episode 11 that just hit home. My husband retired at the age of 59. He was quite overweight and the doctor said you need to lose weight exercise or you will become a diabetic. Within 3 months. He achieved an excellent goal, lost weight. He didn't have to be on diabetic medicine. Nothing. It was awesome. A few friends from the company he worked for. He went out with them. You know a few months after and then other friends around. Wanted to know was he having an affair? Why do you look so good? What's happening. Is there something you need to discuss? Are you and Lorna okay? I'm the wife. It's like oh my gosh, I was shocked to hear that someone has male friends would say that. Although they were looking out for me. But you just never know what people are thinking?? Love your podcast. There are studies that Dad's are home more with their families more than ever now so I bet that is a huge reason why happy hour is going down in numbers. I think people just would rather go home to their family.
I think that so many people work from home now that it’s not as easy to go out for happy hour.
This is what I thought too! Im 26 and my job is remote so I don’t really have the option. My husband works in the office and there are happy hours all the time now. I was thinking the dip was probably from a combo of COVID + remote jobs + financial constraits
Jeff I agree100%. I work in a large department store. So many people get away with so much crap Because everyone is afraid to say anything. And the young one want an award for showing up. But don't want to work

this is how Christians have been treated for a long time now. If we say we are Christian we have to be perfect - we can't make mistakes, we have to love everyone, we have to be someone else's version of perfect, and we have to be careful with what we say. It makes me crazy. I'm a human too, guess what I'm not perfect!!

I think happy hour is down because so many people work remote now. But yes, you’re right, people are nervous to get buzzed and say something “wrong”.
It is interesting that office environment and possible toxicity has come up for me on today’s episode, because I work as an Elementary School Crossing Guard and it is time to attend our bi-annual “Harassment Training” class. Now I don’t mind attending this class once, but I don’t feel that we should have to mandatorily attend every two years! If there are any changes to the City’s policy, I feel that they could just email us those changes for us to read and then sign off on that we received, read and understood the new policy changes. These classes run for 2 1/2 hours (and often run a little bit over) and it rarely has any changes being made to their very well-thought out policy. The only perk of attending, is that I get paid for an additional 3 hours.

We shop 2nd hand! You can get nice used items for kids! It’s more affordable and kids grow out of/destroy clothes and shoes so fast that it’s not worth the $$$.
I just spend enough time with my coworkers I don’t want to hang with them even more.

Honestly, people need to just mind their own business more often and see how much happier they are with themselves. I love you both and to be completely real, I believe every woman should have a husband like Jeff. He's hilarious and he seems fun and relaxed, always smiling and laughing and he's respectful toward women, hardworking, I mean compared to what some women have, I mean give me a break. I never got why everyone seemed to not like him in the house during BB and I don't get it now. It might be true that you guys switched roles a bit, but you both are still so great together and seem like someone we'd all like to hang with on any given day. I think the issue with Jordan in the house was people thought that she was quiet and backwards and sweet and that she would just let people walk all over her and the ones she cared for and when she came at "whatever his name is" and chest bumped him and was screaming at him, they all were shocked because surely Jordan wouldn't do that. lol Long story short though, you are great the way you are and neither of you should change for anyone. Jeff is right though, you can't go anywhere in today's day and age, because if you're not worried about getting caught on camera doing something that might give the wrong impression, you're worried about getting too drunk and someone slipping something in your drink when nobody is looking, or being left alone at the end of the night and like Jordan has said in previous episodes getting kidnapped and placed in someone's basement for someone's pleasure. It's a sick world and there's absolutely nothing wrong with being too cautious... you have to be
