the fact that billy and steven aren't inducted is proof that the rock hall of fame is a bunch of bullshit. it's run by aging music critics who don't know shit about good music and an aging queen who runs a magazine that bears any relevance to what people like about music. while i was happy that some of my favorite acts like NIN and the cure got inducted. i was even happier that depeche mode got in the rock hall of fame in spite of the fact that rolling stone magazine had always trashed them until the release of their last album yet the band's response to that good review is this... "they're still cunts".

Rock n Roll hall of fame is a joke anyway. Firstly if you get nominated you have to then pay an enormous amount of money to become a member. Also I remember John Lydon ( Johnny Rotten) describing how several “handwritten lyrics” of Sex Pistols songs were on display when lydon knew that these lyric sheets weren’t written by him and weren’t even his handwriting. When he asked them to remove these pieces because they were obviously fraudulent they refused.

Not decades. They were consistent for about 5 years, then nothing. This isn't bad though, but it's not the same level as the 80s. Everything in between has not been consistent.

he just doesn't rip or have any good licks anymore though. We know he can, but I just don't hear anything great coming out of his guitar playing, plain. The song is okay.
I first saw Billy playing, I think, Mony Mony on a TV show called "Solid Gold". I instantly knew that he was singing and playing the music that would always crave and listen to. The bikini clad dancers on stage visually helped sear the larger than life bravado that is Billy Idol. Upbeat, Cool, Fun, Energy. I was 12 then, and didn't have money to buy records (yes, those round vinyl discs younger people have heard about), but would only hope to hear him on the radio. About two years later I bought all his cassette tapes I could find on "Columbia Records" mail order. You could get like 12 cassette tapes for 1 cent with a promise to buy 6 more at normal price over a 1 year period. That was awesome. He made a handful of "albums" at first with some really cool re-mixes on "Vital Idol". Later finding GenX / Generation X cassettes from his past. I used his music to fuel my adrenaline in high school sports and keg parties. It never let me down. When the music was playing in my head, I felt like I could run through brick walls and not care. Fist pumping on long car rides to Michigan State, heck, every car ride especially after I bought some box speakers and an amplifier. Freaking my kids out when rocking it while taking them to school and now having grand-kids that like his music too. Not to mention that every wedding reception has to play a few of his songs where I am expected to sing and dance with a snarled lip to all of them. Still reveling in the Rebel. Huge, positive life impact. Keep it going Billy!
Given how hard he has lived, I'm grateful Billy is still with us and making music!

Billy Idol has his own star on Hollywood Boulevard now since two month , there is a video on youtube for look/to watch the ceremony. I am so grateful to Billy Idol and the other 80's legends that still perform today. Those of us that were fortunate to live back then have our individual reasons why it was such a great time to grow up in. But I believe that we can all agree that the music played a great part of why the 80's were so great. They all are greatly appreciated, especially today. Thank you for keeping the 80's alive, Billy!!! Love your music and the timeless passion that you have for it!!!
It was a glorious time to be a young rock fan. Wouldn't trade it for anything.
Including the variety of music that was available. But I lived through it and get tired of the romanticizing.
We are in a golden age where you can pick whatever you want to listen to on all these platforms like UA-cam, iTunes, apps on your phone like iHeartRadio, Spotify, Pandora, etc. There's tons of good music available new and old - just on you to find it and stream it, instead of waiting by a radio and hoping they play your favorite song like we had to back in the day.
And I can assure you that every generation has their emotional connections to their music and really no decade is better than any other.

If you're interested,I'm 61 (almost).The summer(s)of 1977 and 78 were the peak of UK punk rock.Me and my mates had the privilege of seeing the mighty Generation X at the Nag's Head in High Wycombe frequently during that time..I recall maybe 150-200 heaving, sweaty youngsters going ballistic whilst these 4 guys busted their guts on a tiny stage in a small room above a pub.Condensation literally dripped off the low slung ceiling. These were visceral experiences and superb memories.The band members would drink in the bar with the audience before the shows. As a 15 year old I recall that I was stood right next to Billy Idol & Tony James whilst watching the Sex Pistols at Brunel University in December 1977.....Those were the days👍..Oh and btw back in those days our economy was in a worse state than the world's is now.But we still managed to have a great time and we came through it all.So,don't listen to the negative media.Don"t let the naysayers bring you down!We'll be fine! Saw him at the CNE concert where I worked as an usher one summer. It was in the 1990’s and he had broken his leg in a motorcycle accident. It was still a great concert.

It's a an 'old chestnut'... an old cliche lyric - and I should think those exact words have been used before, the idea certainly has been.. We 'learn to live with our demons' as the quite common expression goes... We learn to stamp on them as soon as they pop-up too... Cool song though, and I'm a fan of cliches... 'Rage' and 'Cage' are two other good examples!

Haven't listened to Billy Idol for years. I used to be a big fan, but sort of lost touch - life happens. Came across this today and I LOVE it. Sounds as fresh and exciting as when I was a kid. Well done. I will also be revisiting some old favourites.

Steve "Fingers" Stevens and his truly magnificent Knaggs guitar. This song was penned by Billy Morrison who since joining William Broad's band has been a huge influence. Steve is an icon - a Grammy winning brilliant guitarist and this song just 'has it' in spades. Those 'Bareknuckle' humbuckers kick serious arse.
