The AT comes standard with 4matic all wheel drive in every engine variant, and with Airmatic air suspension on the front and rear axles - with adaptive damping ADS+ at each individual wheel, minimising any shocks to the body and interior.
The off-roading #MercedesBenz has a dedicated OFF ROAD mode, which has 46mm greater ground clearance, and unique engine map, suspension set up, ESP and steering! Further more, in the new generation MBUX we get unique driving mode screens as first seen in the New GLC, this includes a dedicated screen in the main superscreen - it gives steering angle, angle of terrain, compass, and more. And it also has the “invisible bonnet” function, where you can get the heads up on what’s underneath the car’s front end.
The design of the new E Class seeks to build a bridge between the combustion and the EV cars. That’s super obvious with the front grille and its black panel, as well as the connected rear light. In the All Terrain, we get a unique double louvre grille too - oh and an illuminated grille you can use while driving! You will spot #mercedes stars everywhere around the car, even in the new rear light graphic.
The AT also has black plastic extended arches and off road side side sills, which pair with a front and rear bumper with some off-road design too. The best bit are the wheels in my opinion, looking really sporty!
The interior features the new MBUX super screen and the dedicated driver unit. VS the horrid EQ hyper screen, the screen sits much lower thus reducing bulk and making it look sportier. The new MBUX 3 is updated to allow it to hear you without saying “Hey Mercedes” and thanks to a new API, developers can make apps - like Angry Birds or Zoom!
The All Terrain has a braked towing capacity of 2100kg - which means it could towe an average elephant, or the C63S 4 cylinder. Heh. ;_;
As for engines, we have three available:
200d 4Matic - 200PS, 440NM
300de Plug in - 312HP, 700NM, EL Range: 85/102
450 6cyl - 381, 500NM
I’m driving the 200 Diesel - it’s been eye opening how good the new ages Mercedes diesels are. Mild hybrid makes them responsive, the sound is refined, and it’s never short of power. The MPG was also extremely impressive, and with 4matic and air suspension of the AT makes for a great daily package.

I had the '22 all terrain, 7 passenger, and it was the shit! I leased it fully spec'd by Mercedes themselves! Air ride, massaging seats, etc. hella dope sleeper. Super underrated!

So good to hear you supporting the diesel engine! Yes, we all know we're heading towards electric mobility and that's fine, as soon as it is to become more practical and affordable. In the meantime I would love to drive this diesel engine on HVO synthetic fuel. Check it out if you're not familiar with what that is....

Not a facelift, it's a new model. Facelift will probs come 2027?
you should test the E 400 d all-terain....700 Nm torque, and a 6 cylinder inline with 340 HP.....probably the best (modern) Diesel engine ever built.
The Gen 4 Audi A6 allroad is available in the USA which is also an estate.
I think I can imagine how will the new GLE front looks
I woukd defenitely choose this instead of any SUV in the Mercedes lineup (apart from the G-Class, which actually is a SUV)

Will the diesel be available in the US? When will any E450 wagons be available in the US. I just checked in Jan 2024 and the dealership doesn’t have price or ability to order the new model

Any recommendations for driving gloves? I've got an alcantara steering wheel, would like some gloves to help keep the wheel prestine - possible suggestion for a future video
Why would you need driving gloves?
Much better grip/control, better feel, no sweat and no scratching the interior. I have an Alcantara steering wheel in one car and lambs leather in another. They get damaged very easily. I've also scratched up other parts of the interior.
I'm currently using Dent driving gloves, and they're amazing but they are entry level. Looking for something a bit better now.
I was sceptical about driving gloves but that all changed after use. Also use Piloti driving shoes, best decision I've ever made (for both track use & road use).
Just sold my 911 and I got a very good price for it (it also sold within 12hrs of being advertised), all because of the condition it was in. Thanks to all the precautions I've taken.
Those wheels and tires are not going to enjoy "all terrains". Would be cool to see a beefed up version.

I have the 2022 E450 All-Terrain (the US only gets the AT variant) and I agree that they should have gone more into an “All Terrain” direction with this variant, than just slapping black wheel cladding and raising the ride height a bit, and calling it a day. A missed opportunity for sure !
Being a Mercedes E wagon owner now and having had others this All Terrain one is a waste! As I live in California Mercedes USA does not have a clue! Just within 6 miles of me there must be 30 plus Mercedes E wagons of different bodies(210,211,212..) At least 1/2 are AMG and only 3 are this A/T. Talking with 2 of them they both stated it was Not the preferred choice. They said the normal non A/T was what they wanted But could not get one. As they have owned 3-4 Mercedes wagons before they went with it. I am in the same boat in a way. I want an AMG wagon to replace mine but I will Not waste my money on that thing! I love the handling of my E wagons and don't like the jacked up look or handling of this A/T!
@Mercedesbenz Please give us the normal E wagon not wannabe SUV! If I want a off-roader I drive the Range Rover. When I need. to do a 3-5 hour drive I take my E wagon.

It’s definitely not an ‘off-roader.’ A quick fix is to add smaller wheels and larger tires. As is, it’s just a road (or gravel) car.
It’s a great car, but can I be honest the last car E class all road, didn’t sell well. Hence why people went for the GLE instead

Lovely car, but I agree, they could have gone further. Changing the diameter of the wheel would have really improved it.

I think calling a car with that much overhang in the front and rear is a joke. An all-track might have been more palatable. Does it even have a hill decent?

Absolutely love the car, but Mercedes dropped the ball again by not having the car rise up further than it does. Major fail considering the technology is available.
Ill stick with my 2015 E400 wagon Benz is becoming something not timeless in any way. They ruined it 😔. Bmw too, they resemble Hondas now
Make no mistake, this is not an all terrain car, not even GLE, X5, Q7, etc, are all terrain cars, is just the shape, but no real all terrain capabilities. Try to go on wet grass and you'll get stuck there, is just a gimmick from the manufactures to sell more cars.😢
