I kept skipping and all I heard was just HALLL HALLL HALLL HALLL HALLL HALLL
They were supposed to be fur coats. Thats why the lyrics say 'shorten the sleeves'.
And, the 'thing' is a mink stole. They have no sleeves.
And they are all supposed to wear hats
This is musical theatre, not a documentary.
A shame the choreographer didn't do more out of a fantastic scene.
