That moment when you realize Hughes single handedly discovered this, without even knowing about homonculi!
Truly big brain
Its why they were so quick to act. The swiftness in his murder suggests that they were keeping a close eye on him for a very long time, think about how much independent action Mustang took before they decided it was time to confront him directly, they knew he was ambitious and commanded loyalty and a prime human offering so they kept tabs on him but even than they didn't know his every move. With Hughes as soon as he figured it out they attacked immediately showing they saw him as an even bigger threat than Mustang at that time
My favorite part about that is that to hammer in how 🧠 he is, he notices that Envy had missed a single MOLE in their disguise at a si hole glance while he was bleeding and busy.
Maes Hughes. The poster boy for how the powerful are anti-intellectual so that they can keep the population in check.
I mean after being shown the map for the 100th time I caught on
@@emanuelmartinez7267 Im convinced this is what made Mustang and Hawkeye have systems in place to subtlety trade information. Hughes died trying to do just that
Suraj was right, it wasn't the "Monopoly guy", that guy was killed by Scar 1 minute after we saw him for the first time. Like Suraj said, it was the guy who injected the Philosopher Stone into Bradley.
And now we see what Hughes discovered all those episodes ago!
Too bad he didn't know Bradley was in on it!
@@Warriorcats64 He suspected it
I feel like it's really impressive that Hughes saw the map and the transmutation circle all the way back when he died towards the beginning of the series.
He knew the history, the major events, and the conflicts that drew blood which was enough for him to pinpoint and highlight the bigger circle as a whole.
I was happy in this episode when Ed and General Armstrong figured it all out.
episode 2: *kids bringing their mom from the dead, failing and losin limbs in gory scenes
episode 35: "this is not a kid's show, the history is complicated"
Yeah didn't Bradley basically cut the Ice Alchemist in half during episode 1 also?
@Ruben Colon it's a meme, bruh.
Why are you guys analysing a meme?
also episode 4, Nina and Alexander transmutation
Tadas Maziliauskas The plural of anime is anime. And most anime are targeted towards kids and teens, not necessarily adults.
Shounen for example has a demographic of young kids to early teens. That's the literal definition, you can look it up. FMA in particular would be for something like 14 year olds, while DBZ would be for 12 year olds.
Navi hitting em with the, "SHHHH!"
Just priceless.
Navi is love.
Bruh whats navis insta
@@onepunch5133 frfr na vi is Soo fine❤️😍💯 but suraj is the funniest lmfao
FYI: Lt Falman has a photographic memory! It's one of the little details from the Manga that's not really explained in the anime
The only thing Falman good at in this series! IMO
Weird how it was never mentioned in the anime, he's like the most basic of Mustang's crew imo lol
@@highdefinition450 technically they're all basic in some regard besides Hawkeye who was renowned for being an excellent sniper. The rest were seen as average or even below average soldiers but Mustangs eye for talent saw what other officers couldn't. Take Breda, in the manga its noted that he's extremely lazy and laid back, only doing the bare minimum of what's expected of him therefore he was not viewed highly by superiors but Mustang knew from his academic test scores and skill at chess that Breda was extremely intelligent and would work hard if given a task that interested him. Mustang basically moneyballed the military to give him the perfect squad of loyal soldiers
@@emanuelmartinez7267 havoc was a weapons specialist aswell so hes pretty useful
@@dalstarbet dude don't get me wrong the whole squad is extremely useful and skilled in their area of expertise, I was just pointing out that overall they were overlooked because of how specialized their skillset was. Speaking of Jean, If I remember correctly he wasn't chosen for his actual skills but personal qualities, he's extremely loyal, can think on his feet and strong willed which is why he was the go to guy Mustang
Yes, it's the gold-toothed doctor from Bradley's backstory back in E26!
Bradley back in E26 also said the Homunculi has been controlling things since the inception of Amestris.
So looks like everything has finally come full circle! Who knew the first episode, despite being non-canon to the manga, did a great job setting this up. When Isaac (Freezing Alchemist) asked Ed if he knew what the shape of this country was, he wasn't really talking about the state of it (well maybe a bit), but the actual shape of the country - a circle. With that said, Hughes is also very smart for figuring this out before everyone else. Too bad he had to die for it :(
Full circle
Gosh dang it.
I knew Suraj would love this episode. It's just one big conspiracy lol
The man sure does love his conspiracies.
Open your third eye people, the word conspiracy itself is used to delude the truth in all these "conspiracies"
His favorite channel is History Channel😄
I liked them talking about conspiricies.
To everybody who is commenting on them being quiet or "dull", you can't say they need to stop talking during the episodes and then say they're being dull because they're being quiet!
Take or leave it! This is their channel and their reactions!
I doubt they're the same people.
I HATE!!!!!! people like you!!!! ugh!!! Look I like their reactions and believe the bit about it being their channel is true BUT!!! The people who want them talkative and the people who want them silent are NOT the same folks... You're a moron to believe otherwise! People make this asinine statement all the time and its just lazy and stupid!
It probably isn't the same people, but it is still annoying to see people calling them out on this as if it's not what other commenters have been telling them to do. They should at least acknowledge those people and not place all of the blame on the reactors.
Jeremiah Briggs ....dude....chill
@@jbriggs06 Deep breaths, in... and out.

As seen on twitter:
Nina tucker was 4 years old in 1914. That means she was born on 1910. Guess what year in chinese zodiac that happened to be...
Year of the DOG!
There is no way that’s a coincidence, Hiromu is too mean ;-;
Wait, no. When Ed and Al met Nina, she was 9 years old and they met her in 1914. So Nina was born in 1905, which was the year of Snake.
Internet Epal lmfaooo
That's too detail!!!!
LMFAO
@@ori-arts lmao yea she wasn't 4
I absolutely *love* how on point so many of Chris' guesses are. Very intelligent guy.
21:45 I'm with Chris here: we're made to see patterns (and we often see them where there aren't any): the proto-human who saw a tiger in the rustling bush went on to have more children than the one who just saw leaves moving in the wind, even if most of the time it really _was_ just a windy bush (the one time it wasn't, though, the sceptic became tiger food)... and their children ended up seeing tigers in the sky (or in global socioeconomics)... and what was once a survival adaptation is now mostly a handicap (except for the bastards who use it to take advantage of people).
_In the show,_ though, it turns out there actually _was_ a tiger behind the bush all along... because, as Chris said, that's _exactly_ what the audience is looking for, and being right feels good, and makes us want to watch the show.
Isn't evolutionary psychology fun?
Yup, type 1 errors (ie false positives) are pervasive and lead to a lot of conspiratorial thinking.
I think people like u and or Chris dont want to use your minds to think of all the possibilities in the world and rather narrow them down because your minds cant take it. Civilians dont know shit and will never know shit if u think everything is not deeper than we perceive.. u look at the world thru ur eyes and not ur mind.. Cultivating ur Third Eye is key religion and race are the real distraction not "conspiracies"
5:34 I like that Major Miles made Kimblee break eye contact, he's kind of guy that can frighten a psycho like him.
Leore occurred in 1914, and Hughes' gravestone also gives us a year reference. (Don't know it off hand)
Yeah, Hughes dies in 1914
You guys are the only reactors I've watched who actually remembers Raven and the Gold-Toothed Doctor!
don't worry, everything will be revealed in time. EPISODE 36 IS COMING UP NEXT
This episode made me respect more about Hughes. The moment you know what he know, it was a awesome moment and I also act like Suraj...
7:54
funny fact, Stephanie Young (the voice of Olivier Armstrong) in the commentary, i believe either this or next episode, mentioned how she enjoyed voicing a character with a somewhat sexy voice, and that it showed during her conversation with Raven.
also if you didn't know, the voice of General Raven is actually Chris Ayres, the voice of Frieza in DragonBall Super.
WHAAAAAAAAAAAT!? CHRIS AYRES HAS RAAANGE
Stephanie Young and Chris Sabat (the voice of Alex Armstrong) would later work opposite each other again in My Hero Academia.
I mean, one of the Rothchilds died like last year around 106, had about 7 heart transplants in his life. If you're rich of course you'll get better healthcare.
Loved the post episode discussion lol
I love Suraj's excitement!! :) The rest seemed kind of quiet this episode.
Really liked Chris' and Suraj's discussion though :)
Congratulations on reaching episode 35, it’s full steam from here on 😀
27:15 yes navi. in harry potter they used nicolas flamel, a real life alchemist whom people believed had discovered the philosophers stone in the 15th century. in the book he was supposedly friends with dumbledore
How tf would anyone ever think this was a kids show?
Dell12 16 some people think anime=kids show
it's just a meme in this channel
It is a kids show, and it's a stupid meme made by these idiot guys who think they are smarter than kids. They're not.
lol fmab is not a kids show
Lol it is, it's a shonen published in a shonen magazine which targets a younger males audience. A awesome shonen at that but still a shonen. Stop trying to make it seem like the show is breaking bad or game of thrones. Anime not meant for kids is more like berserk, Gantz, Inuyashiki, Monster ect. There is nothing here kids can't comprehend or inappropriate for kids. Unless by kids show you mean shit like Dora the explorer or Paw patrol... but if you do, you're an idiot.
you guys went DEEP on this one! loved it. you're reactions to this show is one of my favorites on your channel. really love this group
the apple pie joke just crack me up everytime lmao
"Do you know about the Rothschilds? They stay alive the same way rats do..."
Oh my, that escalated quickly...
That was not the monopoly guy scar killed him.
For marketa, yea i mean they are soilders and they have one job protect that fort ,so yea they probably come up with ways to kill or torture people.
I'm so excited for your guys. Some of the next five episodes are my favorites in the entire series!
Really really love the discussion for this episode
Into FMAB, now you get to see the Briggs Way
You're all making jokes but that's the clever wordplay of the episode
Unpolitical
If I was wearing shoes I'd also say a boot
Cut the Bitch and stick with Badass
The line is one of the telltale signs of a Homunculus; Lust had it on her arms, Gluttonu on his shoulders, Envy on its headband and the First Greed on his back. It's just a trait, it has no significance other than only non-hybrid Homunculi have it
Ice Queen has no Alchemy
Ed bringing in Falman actually saves his career, after this Falman's never seen on Ice Picking Duty again
Sam is quick on the mark for this one, 2 for 2...have you been peeking ahead?
Buccaneer is beefed as fuck, of course yes way, this ain't Envy
Sloth is slow but he's not dumb either
Someone's been reading the comments ;) good to see
To be fair Sloth isn't really human, eternal Brainfreeze though...
Miles throwing that fire right at Kimblee, it may be the North but there is NO CHILL
YES! Gold Tooth! You won't believe how few people remember him, even though he literally has a Gold Tooth and made Fuhrer Bradley Wrath. Marketa you're wrong on that, Monopoly Man was killed by Scar, Giollo Comanche the Silver Alchemist
Sound Familiar Guys?
Izumi Curtis is so hardcore she stole from the most hardcore soldiers in the most hardcore climate of hardcore Amestris as a training exercise, because she's hardcore
Did the blood tip you off? Or the Murder? Or maybe the missing limbs?
Falman's history knowledge makes more sense the the Manga, since he is one of the few characters with an incredible memory; unlike Sheska who remembers whatever she reads and Kimblee who never forgets a face, Falman has a near-eidetic memory relating to his love of history
All the points on the circle that make the pentagons are instances of bloodshed, but yes the map is all of Amestris, an entire country designed for this one circle, every instance a moment of bloodshed worsened by the Central Forces in on the plan, a plan almost 360 years in the making
But no, Sloth's appearance was a legitimate accident, a fortuitous one at that since it gave Ed and Al a spot to confer with General Armstrong
Ed wants _Winry's Apple Pie_ too if ya catch ma drift
Armstrong went fishing and hooked herself a big easily influenced Raven
1914-15 is the time, remember they mentioned Liore in 1914, which was the aftermath of events of Episode 3 with Father Cornello
Over 500, but remember the first Greed was about 200 years old so it's not unthinkable
Indeed Navi, a Homunculus cannot have children, not even a human/homunculus hybrid can, so how can Hohenheim have 2 kids but still look like Father huh? Oh how close we are to answers
I'm pretty sure they use that a lot in fantasy
Well, Ed and Al aren't looking for Immortality, they're looking for a means to get their bodies back, it's just that they believed that the stone could do that. Mustang just wants to lead the country to make it better and Scar wants the people of Amestris to pay and acknowledge the atrocities they did to Ishval. The two Xing Heirs seek Immortality for another, since it would be the ultimate prize to curry favour with their shared father the Emperor in the consideration for Succession, the only motive not so clear is Father's, though we still learn more about it.
O Liv ee ay, it's the French way of saying it, like how Alex's middle name is pronounced as the French Louis
We are getting very political here...and yet no mention of Donald
Paracelsus, he was one of the more famous Alchemists; he was the Father of Toxicology and a pioneer of the Medical Revolution and the man who named (but did not discover) zinc, his full name was Philippus Aureolus Theophrastus Bombastus von Hohenheim
Alkahest is a solvent, it's another end goal for some Alchemists but it's something that can dissolve anything including gold, it's like the anti-Philosopher's stone
Not in the tunnel, we panned to the tunnel but she feels it in the ground, like something before the tectonic energy that alchemists believe that they are using to perform alchemy
Sloth hasn't been digging for 400 years, he was seen by Greed 100 years ago, so this action is fairly recent
Again, it was an accident, if he's digging a circle then his end point would be where the circle would meet and the tunnel connects
How about people who know what they're doing and do it well to make your country a safer, more welcome and more habitable place to live for president?
You should get that twitch looked at then :P
This is not a kids show! As of now... lets just forget about the countless murders by Scar, the massive blood Lust spilled, trying to revive their dead mother and the monstrosity they created in episode 2! Greed and co being slaughtered by the military and Bradley cutting two of them in half! Greed being dumped in lava! Jean being stabbed in the back and nearly bleeding out! lol yeah before this episode it was totally a kids show lmao!
Loved the review. The realest the normies ever got! Lol
Listening to Marketa yell about conspiracy theories makes me miss my loud Estonian auntie so much!!
Kanye West 2020......Suraj is a time traveler confirmed
Nice one Normies! Shape of you is the Ed Sheeran song Chris lmao XD
Really fun discussion in this ep
6:24 suraj was right he was the one that "injected" bradley but i didn't knew that was mention already at this point
Go back to when Hugues was killed. He had all figured back then.
Lol yall would be conspiracy theorists almost everything you brought up has been debunked. Also Suraj was right about the gold tooth you only saw him when he injects Wrath to make him a homunculous. PS I think one of my favorite episodes is coming very soon.
Toner C. Nothings been debunked sheep
@@CapitalGainzz Well, the Roschilds has been debunked. Once upon a time they were a rich Jewish banking family that moved in powerful circles in a time when antisemitism was rampant. When discrimination mixes with classism, you get the kind of conspiracy theories that surround the Roschilds. I mean who knows what sort of actual influence they used to have -- but nowadays, they're nowhere near the richest people in the world; the family's bank makes $500 million a year, which is nothing compared to, for example, Walmart's $200 billion, Facebook's $500 billion, or Apple's $900 billion. They're not even in the top twenty richest companies in the world. The 'blood transfusion' shit is just antisemitic bull stemming from claims that all Jews are secretly vampires. The oldest Roschild is 83 years old. Hardly 125. Not all conspiracy theories are based in discrimination, but it's important to research where and how they began to weed out the ones that are. Do your due diligence, research from multiple sources, and make sure you're not falling into white supremacist brainwashing.
HYPE for next episode where Olivier makes it onto all of our fave list
Marketa is a really intelligent person when they actually pay attention to what she is saying. Funny she is the one who doesn't say much.
Lmao what? Marketa is top tier rarted
The problem in western culture is that we assume anything animated is ment for children. In Japan, anime and manga are mediums all their own. With products ranging from cutsie educational shows, to Saw inspired gore porn. So when you say "its not a kid's show" you are absolutely right. Its target audience was originally the young adult crowd. 15-30.
The funny thing is, Japan used to have the "animation is for children" mindset as well. The anime that broke this mindset was called Space Battleship Yamato (Starblazers in English), a serious space opera that drew an adult crowd over the years. Its popularity led to the wave of anime creation that made anime into the all-ages media it is today. There was a phase where this was interrupted, however, called the Aftermath of Evangelion, where studios were too afraid to have violent or sexual content in their anime and risk creating a "new Evangelion". Luckily, this rut of creativity was broken when Cowboy Bebop came out and proved that fear wrong.

LOL we gone full illuminati this ep xD
cant wait to see thier reaction when they debut Pride.
Yes, this isn't a kid's show. It was originally intended for teens, and young adults. It's a bit too complex for the average 8 year old. They wouldn't get a lot of it, and it might impact their enjoyment of the show.
Glad you know the name of the first alchemist
HUGE PLOT TWISTS COMING UP
29:58 at this point, I too am for “Hunger Games” style presidency
shits going down! We're heading into the thick of it!

Giant transmutation circle ⭕️
I’m sad it took me a year to find y’all 😥
Can someome explain the leore riot to me, why did the people die ? Ed and al exposed the priest so wht were the central and eastern armies fighting
This is 6 months late and you might have found an answer already. But basically, Ed and al thought they resolved it but central forces came in to purposefully make things worse again because they were trying to encourage the citizens to fight and create bloodshed. That was what they were talking about in the episode, that the common theme in all the tragedies throughout the country was that central forces would be brought in to make things worse and create bloodshed for the transmutation circle.
Please, react to Overlord! Its a really good anime
