- In APRIL IS THE CRUELEST NONTH, an episode of BEVERLY HILLS 90210 in its freshman season, Brandon (Jason Priestley) becomes friends with a troubled senior, Roger Azarian (Matthew Perry) and saves his life.
Great to see them as young actors.
I use to watch 90210 but not the early scenes, so I didn't know Matthew Perry was on there! Or it's been that long since I remember. I do remember seeing him on Growing Pains, then Friends. I was also lucky to meet him in person in Santa Monica at a local small pizza restaurant with his friends (not from Friends). He was so sweet and we shook hands and talked a bit. I made him laugh! Lol.. For that short moment, I'll remember it for a lifetime. The footage of their high school was filmed in Torrance, CA..if anyone wants to see it close up, it Torrance High School on Carson St.. My husband and I had our wedding at the Methodist church across the street and after the wedding, the wedding party and our parents and the photographer crossed the street to have a few of our wedding pictures taken in front of the high school where the trees and cement benches are. It was Fall and breezy and all the pictures came out perfect. Because it was all natural background and the old look of the school, our pictures don't look out dated. Not even my 1993 wedding dress since I didn't like the big puffy sleeves that were popular in the 80s and early 90s. Maybe just the big satin bow in the back but no one can see it, lol... I grew in the South Bay area, so we lives near the beach. So many great places for wedding pictures and you can see Catalina Island from Palos Verdes.. a lot well known t.v. actors or sports figures live in mansions there.. It's L.A. county and far from downtown L.A. and Hollywood. And other teen movies were filmed at Torrance high school because of the old look to it, Old California look, was used in several high school movie scenes. Matthew Perry was an excellent actor and an awesome person. It's a shame that there's people out there on social media saying negative and cruel gossip about him. It doesn't matter or it's not true what people assume. It was a huge shock that he died. I'm just glad I was one of the lucky ones who got to meet him and made him laugh, I was happy and nervous at the same time and I said something funny and he just automatically laughed, then I laughed! It was cool and kind of him that he took the time to talk to me. He had the cutest smile, too. 😊❤️

Fun fact: they were friends in real life after this and they were only nine days apart in age. (Matthew was older.)
Anyone else notice that when DYLAN is complaining that Brandon didn't fill is gas tank, he says "Sorry Luke" (actor's name).
Brandon Definitely called him Luke not Dylan
It is weird swing Matthew Perry being dramatic.
