I just love watching this family!
They are always so genuine, and stays true to themselves.
Unlike some other creators, they have never let the public life seem to affect them.
It truly never fails to bring a sense of peace and happiness to me whenever I get to watch these videos ❤
I often watch them as I'm eating my lunch, or while I'm working and I often feel transported out into nature with them.
Thanks Hollars for bringing us all along!

Greetings from Alberta, Western Canada! So jealous of you starting your garden already, we have a heavy snowfall warning this weekend, March in Alberta always interesting! Have you ever tried letting a couple of your radish go to seed? They have loads and loads of flowers that bees love, and get these delicious pods you can eat raw, they taste like a pea pod to start and end with that zing of radish, eat them before they get woody, you can even pickle them! Love your channel!

Ben, I used to own a commercial greenhouse and garden center. We always had thousands of used nursery pots in all different sizes. Some we were able to reuse, but many just sat around taking up space. If there are any greenhouses or nurseries in your area maybe you could check with them to see if they have any pots they would give you or sell cheap. That way you would have plenty of pots, they could get some out of their way, and it would keep more plastic out of the landfill. Win win win!

You can also "corn" chuck or other cuts as well. Corned beef was shipped all over the world and the only cuts still available for the poor jews in NYC were the brisket and navel. Those then became the cuts that were corned. When the Irish were looking for a meat to substitute for bacon (the jewish butchers didn't do bacon) the corned beef brisket took over the role.

I planted lettuce, bunching onions, radishes, spinach & beets today. I too have really missed fresh lettuce & salad from the garden this winter. I told everything to GROW!! So, hopefully it does. Tomorrow carrots, rutabagas, turnups, Swiss chard, other greens & peas. I have some radish & bunching onion seeds from 2008, 2015, 2020. Planted them in a separate bed to see if any of them grow.. who knows they might. Have had a beautiful 5 days of no rain & sun. Friday - Sunday was 68 - 71, today about 65. It’s going to be in 50’s & rain the next 10 days.. 😐.

Sounds like me trying to use up old seeds lol. The little chickies next door came over and wanted me to go outside with them. I’m usually working in the yard when they get home from school but it was blustery yesterday. I asked if they wanted to plant some seeds & they said yes, so I gave them a bulging envelope of marigold seeds from flowers I grew. Before I could finish making my tea they came running inside showing me some camellia red beans 🫘 I planted. They were growing lol. I said go put them back in the ground lol. So cute!! But they planted all the marigolds in one spot up by the road hahaha. I can’t wait until they come up so they can see 🌼🌼🌼 I have a feeling we’ll be doing a lot of transplanting 😊
I can’t wait to see what all kinds of carrots grow for yall. Can’t say I’ve ever cooked corn beef. My Mom cooked it though mmm. Byeee Chicky 👋🏻

It was a tad chilly but yet beautiful to be outside planting. Like you, I pulled weeds from 2 beds. Then went and pulled the silage tarp off of one of my long, and tall beds to find a surprise. I'm always careful pulling silage tarps because you don't know what you may find under the tarp(snakes, spiders, mice, ect..). When I lifted the end of the tarp, I saw movement. I instantly dropped the tarp, and grabbed my shovel. Then once again lifted the tarp to see a mouse with babies, and a straw type house. I took my shovel and scooped out the mouse house, and discarded it in the garbage. Mama mouse ran with her babies to a hole (old wood knot that had fallen out) in the wood, and escaped with babies attached to her. That was my excitement for the day. I added more compost to all garden beds, and got them ready for planting.

We don’t get a lot of rain like you do, so snow melting is how our perennials survive & gives the seeds & little critters moisture. Ben, when you have to make new lumber border you might seal the wood with linseed oil. It should preserve it and make it viable longer.

I did the same thing with the corned beef! I work on Sundays' and I didn't even want to try to get it ready at 5am! So, Mondays I am off and set it up in the slow cooker with potatoes, carrots and bay leaves! I also served it with croissant rolls from box store! My husband said it was the best beef I've cooked since he's know me for over 20 yrs! YAY! (He loved my CB anyways!) It was delicious! Maybe soon I'll do another and film it! Love watching you in your adventures! You inspire me to keep going and explore my options! We are still working on infrastructure here on the new homestead, so lots of projects to be done; When the rain and cold quit. Franklin, KY here! -Mo

We had saved our corned beef until Monday also. We went to my dad’s to help him with a few things but he loves corned beef and I fixed cabbage with onions and carrots with potatoes too and took it for our dinner. Dad loved it and We had leftovers for him to have Tuesday! It has been cold and wet here in Northeast Alabama so we are behind with our garden! But soon it will be dry ,I think and lot of work to do

😊❤ you guys are reminding me of how ridiculously old my seeds are. I know MI Gardener found 100 yo tomato seeds and they grew! So i never worried. But the rate of success in my old seed probably will suffer. Thanks for starting off the spring ( as i listen to crowing roosters down street and my 9 in the backyard at dawn). They are terribly rough on the 12 hens. Bad ratio, i know.
Meg your getting bigger and more beautiful each video 😊

We are just down the interstate in Spartanburg SC. My husband is a professional engineer and has the bonding stamp for approvals on inspection paperwork. Not sure if you are still having issues, but he will be happy to offer his services free of charge. Unless you have a bed of asparagus coming up !

Corn beef looked awesome! My dad had a funny digestive tract. He could eat corn beef. He could eat cabbage. But put the two together in classic style and he would die with indigestion!😂I can eat them together and love every bite.

Looking at websites and seeing the jump in pricing and since there is only a few seed suppliers the seed companies are charging 4.95 for 35 seeds.
Save as many seeds from your harvest

MI Gardner seeds are $2.00 for standard size seed envelopes, are fresh, great quality & I have had 95 - 100% germination rate for all of their seeds I’ve planted. Luke has a you tube channel, he & his wife have worked hard & have built a quality seed, plant, produce business. I’ve watched his channel for 5 years now, very informative videos.
