I'm praying right now for Jesus to put my fingers on the right keys on this computer to attempt to yet another way to express the points made in this scripture about the Mind of Christ. The most profound effect of having the mind of Christ is that his first move was to humble himself. As a man sent from God he knew to take on all that was man's frailties and consequently he first humbled himself before God. This is his acknowledgement that as a man it was neither his nor any man's privy to obtain a benefit or to think better of himself and even more righteousness from obtaining the mind of Christ. In other words the Mind of Christ is not to acquire a benefit or privilege. It is rather to become more teachable and receptive to what God would have you come understand more and more. My experience tells me that by seeking the mind of Christ becomes easier and also easier to defer to others and to accept their opinions and leadership. It's a gift that you can give others and the Gift others can give back. It breaks the hold that resentment had on us from not getting our way. In that all of us can have the mind of Christ by being quick to defer to others and to not resent that we don't get our way and to let God have his way with love and patience. Need I say right here and right now what Jesus would say to all who don't understand what I just wrote; Forgive them Father for they simply know not". Our's not to judge those that don't understand.

Wow wow Sir..what a moving intimate prayer time I had this morning, also aided by what you shared here.
I woke up w a bit of an unsettling emotion towards my husband, but knew that I had to be careful on how I was going to address it. My way ( emotionally) or God's ( spiritually)
I knew the enemy wasn't my husband, and that I needed to address the thing without ruining the relationship...so I got up and came to pray...and as I was praying I was quoting (1 Cor 2:16) 'that I have the mind of Christ " wanting to understand it better I searched you tube and chose ur channel. Wow the faithfulness of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Abba for setting me free from myself!

I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (April 14, Palm Sunday), Philippians 2:5-11 was our New Testament Lesson (or Epistle) of the Day.

As a Greek, I say yes, the KJV of verse 5 is closer to the original.

I always worried about describing parts of scripture as helping those reading and listening to the good word and getting into a mindset.
Sharing scripture to get us in to a mindset of helping others.

Does anyone know what program this is being recorded on? I'd love to have something like this to lead my church with!

    Hello
Philippians 2 is most likely a comparison with Adam
    Modern scholars acknowledge this
Adam was in the image of God
    Instead of humbling himself
He grasped at equality with God by eating the fruit (you will be like God!)
Because of this he was kicked out of the garden and died
Jesus was in the image of God
Instead of grasping at equality with God he humbled himself as a servant
And obeyed all the way to the point of death
Because of this God has highly exalted him
This is from the University of St. Thomas:
“A second group of biblical scholars argues that in Phil 2:6-11 Paul (or whoever authored the hymn) was not describing a pre-existent, divine being but rather the earthly Jesus of Nazareth. These scholars generally interpret the periscope as exhibiting a "Second Adam" Christology. According to this Christology, the earthly Jesus described in the hymn did not have equality with God. Christ made a choice - unlike the Adam of Genesis - not to grasp at equality with God, but to be obedient to God by accepting death.”
So even some scholars don’t view this the same
    Jesus is the Messiah
    The Son of God
    The Son of David
    The Son of man
The man God has chosen to be his anointed king
The man God will judge the world through
The man God raised from the dead
Jesus will return and rule the nations with believers in the kingdom of God on the earth
    Jesus has a God
There is no triune god in scripture
Jesus said the Father is the only true God!
    John 17
3 And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.
    -
    Acts 3
13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Servant Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied before the face of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.
14 But ye denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted unto you,
15 and killed the Prince of life; whom God raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

John 10: 30 ”The Father and I are one.” John 14:8-11 “'Philip,' Jesus replied, 'after I have been with you all this time, you still do not know me? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.

That’s why Christ is not god because the one true God is more mightier than Christ!

We are mind body spirit. Three in one. This is analogous to the God-head. John 10: 30 ”The Father and I are one.” John 14:8-11 “'Philip,' Jesus replied, 'after I have been with you all this time, you still do not know me? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.

If you don't see how Christ is God without reading any book or having someone explain, it means you don't know God that well yet. We all get there by the grace of God
