Over $500 bucks has always been a tough sell for me for a budget phone. Well the 8a is really more of a mid-range phone, but the same would still apply. The Tensor 3 is solid and probably overkill for that price, but the hardware just underwhelms for that kind of money for me. Plastic build, slow charging, small display, ok battery, and huge bezels. The Google Pixel 8 is something I'd more look for if I needed a phone around that price. So I agree with you there.
$299 on Google Fi. You're obsessed with the bezel thing. To me the only real sacrifice is the macro camera. Main camera differential in the real world is negligible (which camera won the MKBHD survey??).

I can't ever see myself buying a Pixel A series phone. I like going for the flagship experience and getting the best you can have at the time. I'm just not the target audience for these mid-rangers.
Something to consider is trade-in values. I have an old S10e laying around collecting dust. I tested it with google. If i trade it on a Pixel 8 or 8 pro, they'll give me $40. But if i trade it on a Picel 8a, they'll give me $170. So currently today, if i get a Pixel 8, it'll cost me $660. And if i get a Pixel 8A, it'll cost me $330. So exactly half. I know that all changes when the Pixel 8 goes back down to $500 on sale, but considering trade-in, the 8a is still $130 cheaper. I personally dont care, as i use a Fold 5. But i like to see where things are in the phone market. I dont need another phone, i just like looking. And a side note, samsung will give me $150 for my S10e bringing the S23 FE down to $450
I like my 8Pro, but don't really use it much because much like you don't care for the iPhone 15PM...weak signal bars where ever I'm at...2-3 bars at most times...compared to my S24+ and Ultra...very poor...it probably works just fine, but it bothers me to know that that is an issue on the phone...psychological issue for me I guess...just hate to look at the screen and notice weak signal...other than that, it's a neat phone...I have a feeling it'd be the same issue with the 8a but yeah, it's a 350$ phone at best....
The Pixel 6a still had a good price but the last two A models I don't think have a budget price really anymore. What was a steal was the moto edge 2023 when it was 350 and the edge plus 2023 when it was 599. Those are great prices. But plastic is good as how many ppl have butter fingers and arthritis can't hold on to stuff plastic doesn't shatter is more durable so much better for most ppl.
Its considered cheap at $499 usd, in my country, its about $590 usd. One question, looking at the specs, the Pixel 8a seems to have a better camera than the Pixel 8, am I wrong? Kindly advise. thks
I believe the pixel 8A has incredible value when it's on sale you should never buy a pixel or any phone when I first comes out you have to wait they have ridiculous deals that go on and they always go down in price so I guarantee you the 8A will be 399 or maybe even 3:49 for Christmas add that price I would say it's an absolute steal of a phone I would prefer to actually get the 8A because because of the matte finish I hate glossy finish I think that's absolutely disgusting what most people like the glossy I don't know why and if you're smart you would actually get a pixel 8 refurbished which is going to be at even lower cost
It's not a budget phone, Google don't advertise it as such thats just your take. The price is offset by the trade in, they offered £130 for a Pixel 5 against a pixel 8 and £235 against an 8a.
Throughout the years a series phones have been budget pixels but I do agree with you google hasn't advertised it as such and the trade in deals are great.

I stopped watching when you starting moaning about bezels seriously get over it.
the bezels are a deal breaker
After pixel 9 release it will be 100 $ less
This is just sad Google. I'm getting Motorola edge 40 instead.
Plastic back is a positive for me. I wish the PRO versions also had a plastic or aluminum back. Pixel 5 was the best design ever.
Google conference was just an AI show smh
Apparently Today is android update and product day. They changed things up this year.
@@TechOdyssey what time?
@@plmpcharisma9686 I’ve believe noon again
Would the 8A be worth it if coming from like a Pixel 6 Pro ????
I don’t think so
Absolutely, they worked a lot bugs out apart from the P8 ,wait till price drop again
Maybe only if you really really want the AI features. And I don't think I could even say that strongly.
nice bezels bro
Nice video
And a side note, samsung will give me $150 for my S10e bringing the S23 FE down to $450
Its flagship price get a S24
Love your IDGAF style
Rip off
I like my 8Pro, but don't really use it much because much like you don't care for the iPhone 15PM...weak signal bars where ever I'm at...2-3 bars at most times...compared to my S24+ and Ultra...very poor...it probably works just fine, but it bothers me to know that that is an issue on the phone...psychological issue for me I guess...just hate to look at the screen and notice weak signal...other than that, it's a neat phone...I have a feeling it'd be the same issue with the 8a but yeah, it's a 350$ phone at best....
Idw people can stand the 18w charging speed, its 2024 now and nothing phone support 45w, which only cost me 349$
Its considered cheap at $499 usd, in my country, its about $590 usd. One question, looking at the specs, the Pixel 8a seems to have a better camera than the Pixel 8, am I wrong? Kindly advise. thks
It's a worse camera than the Pixel 8
I chose the iPhone 13 over the pixel 8 pro, quality for money 1000$ vs 629$
Luckily the pixel 8 pro is still on sale for $799
Don't like the colors.Really ugly.Sea foam green?🤢🤮
Oneplus 12 (not R) with 12 + 256GB is $600. Much better device for an extra $100.
Where?
For sure
Pixel 5 is better
Junk.
I feel like the pixel A series shouldn’t of went past the 6A many people have older pixel devices
It's not a budget phone, Google don't advertise it as such thats just your take. The price is offset by the trade in, they offered £130 for a Pixel 5 against a pixel 8 and £235 against an 8a.
Ok 👌🏻
Throughout the years a series phones have been budget pixels but I do agree with you google hasn't advertised it as such and the trade in deals are great.
@@crispyy8899 yeah, budget pixel or budget phone, two different things
