This comment is on point. I used to play all of the songs on my guitar in my basement and scream his parts as if I was playing with them. Fred is such a legend. No one can else can make TBS what it used to be without him being included.

Louder Now is such a timeless album. Probably Taking Back Sunday’s best sounding album in terms of sound quality, and just all the melodies and everything are so nice on the ears. So weird that it’s been over 15 years

This is the song that made me answer “Fred Mascherino” when people would ask me who my biggest guitar influences are. All these years later and my answer still hasn’t changed.

Really just want to hammer this point home, @thecolorfred. Your work made me pick up a guitar. I heard this song on Madden 07. I was playing three sports at the time and dropped every single one to learn guitar so I could learn TBS songs.

"I Am Fred Astaire" is probably one of my top 15 rock songs of all time. I didn't realize until just this week that the line-up that wrote "Where You Want To Be" is pretty different from TBS before and after. It's been a good weekend discovering Fred Mascherino and his awesome projects!

FRED!!! So thankful for this fucking track. Want you to know I was aware as a kid of TBS but I actually found this hidden gem through burnout the video game. I used it as my track workout when I was in HS. It would pump me up before a race. I love what you put into this song. It helped me in some heavy times SOOOO much. I still turn to it as a pump up for me with anything. Thank you Fred for your contribution to the history of music. I will ALWAYS show this song to everyone as their first taste of TBS and your work.

They were seriously a big part of my early twenties lol i remember listening to louder now in my room for hours on end lol i wanna say Miami and Up against are probably my favorite songs on that album.
But my favorite songs by tbs, and in general still to this day is A Decade under the Influence and 180 By Summer. Those songs will go with me to the grave lol

I dont how the friendships are with all the guys now days (if any), BUT for the love of god i would pay any amount of money to see fred brought back into the band in some capacity. even if it didnt work out to be a permanent thing, even just a run of shows with both fred AND john on guitars together in a epic tbs lineup would be killer. My 2006 self is hoping the guys are seeing the these videos and realizing how much fred is still killing these songs and are privately making plans with fred now hahaha. Out of all of the albums and songs this band has put out this is far and away one of the best songs they’ve created. The back and forth vocals, melodies, guitar, and drums are so alive. Fred definitely helps make this song one of the strongest in their catalog. Well done dude.

Between the verse section chord progressions, the little hammer ons/pull offs and harmonic fills you hit have always sounded BOSS to me and they make this song even better.

Dude - I haven’t heard this song since it was released. Killer. Im not embellishing here when I say I have you in my top 20 all time guitarists whose backup vocals were a big part of the band’s sound. Like John Frusciante is my all time fave guitarist and his harmony backup vocals are crucial to the RHCP sound. You got Lennon/McCartney, and loads of others. I have you up there. I remember seeing TBS when you guys opened for Weezer and I had never heard of you guys and I was literally mesmerized by this band whose lead singer and lead guitarist were singing two parts simultaneously and it sounded killer. Thanks for these videos man, you still got it.
