  • This is my Vulcan 750. I’m gaining over what I removed to get the carb out in a summary fashion as it took about 2 hours to get everything apart. I found an upgrade kit on ebay which is what I am installing as the carb was giving me problems again. Rough or no start conditions and dying out on the road left it stranded once. Before I parked it it cranked but no start. This kit will be a huge plus for the future because I will be able to work on the carburetor by just disconnecting it off the side of the motorcycle rather than taking all of the lines and gas tank and seat and everything off to work on it.

2006 750 Vulcan was ridiculous to remove on my end. Worst carb removal I’ve messed with

This is a current eBay link. Should work. I’m sure there are a few places you can get it. This manifold fit a cv40 carb which is what I used BUT I have not gotten it tuned very well yet. I am not sure if a smaller carb would work better and have better throttle response. With 48 slow jet and 180 main jet it runs great off the line and doesn’t hiccup but it backfires a little bit on the rev drop when slowing down. I lower the size to a 42 and 170 and it runs pretty decent mid rpm but it feels like it’s not getting full power and rpm’s have to be higher for idle speed or it won’t come off the line right. I’m learning how to be a better custom tuner. But it will take some messing around with to get it the way you like it. I like it because of how modification accessible it is with the manifold.

Also can you do a video on the airlines you ran and how you did the choke and both throttle cables

@fatboy1853 the name of the carb is a CV40. They used them on Harley’s for years but the engines were slightly larger. I recommend getting a carb with the choke knob attached to the carb so you can actuate it independently of the stock choke lever but that’s up to you if you want to press your own cables and then you will have to buy shorter throttle cables for smoother throttle feel.

This is a link but there are a lot to choose from. Super cheap and easy to get ahold of.
