  • Adi Kailash holds religious importance for both Hindus and Jains. It is believed to be the abode of Lord Shiva in a similar manner to Mount Kailash in Tibet. The area is dotted with several temples and sacred sites.
    According to mythology, Maa Parvati meditated near the Kund in front of Adi Kailash Mountain for hundred years to have Lord Shiva as her husband. Seeing her devotion, Lord Shiva finally admitted his love for her, and later on, they tied the knot at Triyuginarayan Temple which is found at.
    The Adi Kailash trek that stretches from an elevation of 2,200 meters to 4,752 meters is one of the challenging treks in the Kumaon Himalayan region that woos the soul of several trekkers. Usually, the trek is carried out between June to October from the vivid Dharchula.
