If you don't have VR, but have the computing power to run one. I would spend the money on that before new gizmos. It will change your simulating life. And at that point add a buttkicker type device to your seat. Once you go VR you don't go back :) nothing like looking down and seeing a tundra tire going over the tree tops.
I bought the Alpha/Bravo set, and overall it's amazing for the price. The trim wheel in MSFS is practically useless, unless....you download and run vJoy and AuthentiKit. vJoy creates a virtual joystick, and AK allows you to remap buttons/axis controls to run in vJoy. AK has a Bravo preset that resets the trim wheel. I had to tweak a few settings (axis sensitivity and calibration) but when I did I ended up with a trim wheel that controls elevator pitch in 1% increments within a total range of around 180°. There are tutorials available that make it quite easy to setup. Anyone with the default Bravo TQ profile knows how frustrating it is to have to spin spin spin the wheel to get the elevator trim set. vJoy and AuthentiKit easily fixes it.
Your content is always spot on. I follow you and model alot of my sim off your recommendations. Thank you. If you ever get around to it, rock a SF50 Vision video using the new G3000 update for it. Flying from NTAA to NTTP... that landing is killing me... stay awesome!!
Great content. If not to hard to provide a pointer for using a Kindle with the Class Echo Mobile (Android Tablet works great) that would be greatly apprecicated.
Thanks for this concise guide! However, as a person who is also a heavy Sim Racer as well as a Flight Simmer, I must regrettably say that I will unfortunately skip out on getting any controllable flight sim hardware until Force Feedback is implemented. To me, it's BEYOND outrageous that this is STILL unavailable in 2023 and, I am astonished that there's no uproar from the Flight Sim Community about it.
I agree button mapping in the sim needs to be totally revamped. You Can’t even map the vnav button I don’t understand why the mapping process isn’t as simple as press the button on your hardware then press the virtual button in the sim you want it to correspond to. Thank God for spadnext
I just want everyone to know that watching this channel could get to be an expensive proposition -- it just caused me to run out and purchase a Gear-Falcon Flight Control Panel FCP182! _Dang you_ OverKillSimulations! 😀
@@OverkillSimulations Will do! I got all the bells and whistles to go along with it too (clamp and trim wheel)! Delivery is scheduled for March the 2nd! This is all your fault mister -- I'm lettin' ya know that! ;-)
I bought one of the APROTTI touch screen monitors. It is beautiful and bright. The only issue I am having it that when I try and use the touch-screen on the APROTTI, it does not affect the APROTTI, it is affecting my MAIN screen. I touch the APROTTI screen and I see an indication on my main screen. Have I done something wrong or missed something? [EDIT RESOLVED] This is a Windows 11 issue. Resolved by going into Control Panel>Tablet PC Settings then selecting the new APROTTI monitor and clicking on "Setup" - follow directions.
@@OverkillSimulations cool I got the tobii last week and been using it in msfs2020 but still need to work on getting the proper settings on it, eye tracking needs to be off for sure

Finally, an all in one guide for what I need to get for MSFS. You sir are a lifesaver!
Thanks for this so helpful video!
I enjoyed watching and learning from this video so much that I lost track of time and the whole thing was over in only 10 minutes!

Is it worth upgrading from TrackIR 4 to TrackIR 5?
Which ones are for DCS exactly? Am I missing something?
:)

It does and it really does work. I don't think I have dialed in the eye tracking for it
