Lebrun is consistently kickingass. Not just a good tournament then a bunch of not so good results. I'm impressed. He has great skills.

Noooo It's not normal behaviour to act like a dog while playing.... Chowing on a "Rally" 100%. To do 1 serve and the other one miss or they serve and you win on the return... Then yell like you won a 20 ball rally is stupid and just enoying to watch.... I can't watch Harimotos matches becouse of it. And it looks like I have to pass on Alexis to
Lebrun has so many serve varieties and does such a fine job fooling the opponent with the way he switches between a ton of serves. Not to mention how well he is at executing the different serves and also adding some additional sauce of himself into them, he's soo talented for real!

At the very first sight is like "Oh what a nerdy kid!" But I'm so impressed with all the talent he got! Not only the physical prowess but the skills so sophisticated!
Legs like a running back, strong on both 'wings, tricky serve variations, able to play close to and away from the table, supremely confident and seemingly afraid of no one this 'nerdy' looking French kid is quickly making believers of many of us former doubters. 😎

Does not count well against Xue Fei as his ranking is behind a lot of European players.
@@decadence8473 I wrote this before looking ranking of this player. But become the better non-chinese player will be his next objective. Beat Calderano, Moregard, Jorgic, Qiu etc...first. And he has to play in bundesliga also
@@johnduff1564 agreed, I hope we'll see more of the Lebrun's progress soon, looks very promising so far, and it's great to see more European players getting stronger to challenge the Chinese dominance as it makes a difference, which in turn helps this sport worldwide.

Xue Fei is actually more stable and consistent than before. His penhold backhand is fine, but that's not a point winner. His biggest problem here is actually not being able to receive Lebrun's serve well. Many misreads doomed him. Then, of course, he always didn't hop over enough to hit a strong shot when the ball is fired into his body, and he is not good at borrowing the incoming ball. Xu Xin, when cramped, often managed to twist himself well, borrow the incoming ball strength, and live to fight to the next stroke. Xue Fei, can't once cramped up.

That too, and Alexis has tons of experience with his brother, Felix, so he know all the penhold weaknesses.

So glad to see a chinese table tennis player being defeated , the hope for Europe. He ´s got such a variety of good serves , the Chinese player failed at reading them . The Lebrun brothers is the fresh air we all were waiting for. Soon they will be top ones

Since Xu Xin, China produced the worst penholders I have seen since Yu Shen Tong in the late 1980s. How on earth penholders don't have good footwork and a strong forehand? In this case, credit Xue Fei with better backhand, footwork, and forehand than Yu Shen Tong. But Xue Fei's overall ability is nowhere near Ma Lin or Wang Hao or even Xu Xin.
I am penholder. Toally agree, pendholer is all about footwork and forehand, specially forehand. if penholder doesnt have stronger/better forehand than its opponent, no chance of winning at all.

They have stronger backhand than Ma Lin or Xu Xin but nowhere near Wang Hao and Wang Hao had a very powerful and spinny forehand. Wang Hao's preferred stroke was his forehand. No players can win big without a strong forehand. Even Ma Long or Fan Zhendong win consistently with their forehand strokes.
the irony is that Lebrun's brother may possibly become the best penholder for the next generation.

His footwork and forehand are ordinary. Nowhere near Ma Lin, Wang Hao, or Ryu Seung Min.
Xue Fei has the physiques, power and speed. But for 7 years, Xue Fei's placement is still very predictable.

Такое впечатление, что играют 400-ки РТТФ. Xue Fei не вращает своей сильной стороной и стоит как вкопанный возле стола.
Каждый 2-й топс-спин делается с ошибкой, а подачи на вылет. Тактика отсутствует как элемент. Xue Fei видит прекрасно, что француз играет на контре и китаец с удивлением перестает вращать мячи!
Смотрю все доступные матчи с Феликсом Лебраном, который недавно выиграл у самого сильного перовика Китая.

Полностью согласен, вообще не понимаю, что с ними происходит. Этим ребятам уже итак почти ничего не светит, а они даже подобные турниры не могут отыграть достойно. Видимо у перовиков вообще нет надежды. Хотя есть Xu Haidong, возможно увидим его победы. А Xu Fei и Zhao Zihao можно списывать в утиль. Мало того, что у ребят не идёт игра, так и характера и мысли никакой не видно.
У него брат перовик, так что как с ними разбираться он знает )
Xue Fei is not a top player in China, and this result should not be a surprise at all. He started very strong as a teenager player, but unfortunately, he did not have sufficient coaching resources. His coach is Wang Hao, who is mostly focused on Fan Zheng Dong, the world's No.1 player. Xue's peer Wang Chu Qing has a dedicated coach Liu Guo Zheng, and now Wang has moved to the top 10 ranking, able to beat all foreign players including Hugo/Truls/Harimoto. China team needs more coaching resources.

TT serving rules should be changed to indicate a near vertical toss. Tossing it from middle of table and ending up hitting it from the side edge of the table is just unacceptable.
