    If I want topspin and control would you recommend the 100 or the 100 D. I recently used the Solinco blackout, vcore 95 and the extreme tour graphene. Used the pure aero years ago.
    I have a loopy topspin stroke. Semi western grip, baseliner, one handed backhanded where I hit with spin and slice, forehand mostly topspin
    100 or 100 D?
    What string would you recommend for this racket if I’m looking for maximum topspin, comfort and control?
    I was thinking the poly tour pro but will try restring. Zero and grapplenake paradox pro when it comes out soon.

      1. I wouldn’t recommend either 100 or 100D for spin. They are control rackets. 100 has more spin than 100D but both are minimal.
      2. Best spin rackets by brand are Babolat Pure Aero, Head Extreme MP, Tecnifibre TF X1 300, Yonex Vcore 100, or Wilson Burn 100.
      3. With what you describe (semi western, OHB, spin) I recommend Babolat Pure Aero 98, Head Extreme Tour, or Yonex Vcore 98 as the best options for you.
      4. String would be Babolat RPM, Head Lynx Tour, Solinco Hyper G, Yonex Poly Tour Rev, or Wilson Revolve Spin.

      Ok. Pure Drive = power with spin. Baseline preferred. Modern Grip styles. Two hand backhand preferred. standard weight.
      Percept 100 = control. All court play. classic grip styles. two or one handed backhand work. standard weight.

      i just demoed Pure Areo, Radical Pro and MP, VCore 100, Percept 100 and 100D. i ended up going the Percept 100… really enjoyed hitting with it. nice balance of power, spin and control… OHBH felt good too, slice or top spin. if you’re someone who can generate decent amount of your own power, i’d highly recommend it.

    hello. very useful review^^ is this racket more powerful than head gravity line?
    I have been playing gravity mp(leather grip,+7g ) sometimes feel lack of racket power.

      Thank you so much!! I find the gravity line to have almost no power. Especially the Pro. These are both low power but i would state the Gravity to be the lower power of the 2.

    can you recommend a good string for this racket?
    looking for control spin and comfort but i dont like polytour pro

    • @SolowSports
      @SolowSports  2 місяці тому

      Hard to get much spin on the D model but seems like you want a bit of everything. Poly Tour Rev will help with the spin and I suggest lower tensions to give you the all around play. Or you could do a hybrid 👌

    • @Mr.mannix68
      @Mr.mannix68 Місяць тому +1

      What kind of hybrid do you have in mind?
      However I play the 2HBH more flat and the forehand with good amount of spin. For my kick serve I prefer to have a little extra grip on the ball, which makes it sometimes difficult for flattening out the ball.
      What strings and maybe tension you would recommend to me, please?
      Many thanks in advance.

      @SolowSports  23 дні тому

      @@Mr.mannix68 Luxilon Eco Power, Herad Lynx Tour, or Yonex Poly Tour Rev could be good polys. (Eco Power in my opinion being the most comfortable). I like Babolat Addixion as a solid multi to blend. (its one of the only multifilaments with a spiraled texture for extra spin). Low tensions in the 48-52 might be ideal for this dense pattern. I recommend stringing at the higher end near 52 and seeing if you prefer the racket fresh or later as its drops tension to get the most feedback in a single restring.

      @@SolowSports Great. Many thanks for this detailed feedback. Luckily I have all polys at home but not this Multi. Do you mind if I take at first approach Velocity 17 or 16, or a soft poly? I’ve recently discovered hawk touch 1.20mm as a nice cross, since it has outstanding feel and good tension maintenance.

    Congrats on your review, im using a Vcore 98 7 gen and i find it a little demanding for my tennis level, is the percept 100 easier and more forgiving? the 100 or the 100D?

    • @SolowSports
      @SolowSports  Рік тому +1

      Thank you!! If you want more forgiving I would recommend the Vcore 100 which is spin friendly or Ezone 100 which is powerful. Both of those would be great options for Yonex.

    Is this closer to a gravity or the speed pro?

    • @SolowSports
      @SolowSports  Рік тому

      Near the end of the video we note all the similar rackets from other brands that would be worth trying. We have this a bit closer to the Gravity MP bc of the string pattern. The Percept 100 would be similar to the Speed MP. But not the Speed Pro as its a heavier weight class and 18x20 pattern.

    How is the Serve and return?

    • @SolowSports
      @SolowSports  Рік тому +2

      Serve was more sluggish than the 97 but still quick and maneuverable. Return was excellent when blocking heavy pace. Harder to generate power on kick serve returns.

      I find the serve isn't big on power but i get a lot of serves in the box, comtrol is good. Return is pretty good because you have a pretty big sweetspot with the 100 sq inch.

    I’m in the midst of demoing the 100, but if you were to bring up the static weight from 300g to 305-310 … could this be achieved with tungsten/lead tape in the hoop? The swing weight is a bit low, but so far it’s felt balanced stock.
    I’m A/B play testing between both Blade v9s, so it’s a tough choice. I lean towards the Percept lineup, because it offers a 97D and my single backhand happens to be my best shot.
    Thanks for all the solid reviews! 🤙🏽

    • @SolowSports
      @SolowSports  5 місяців тому +1

      There is a lot happening here. First, to add 10g of tungsten might be a lot of tungsten.
      Also you have the Percept 100, Percept 97D, and Blades. This will have different intended audiences.
      What are your top 3 goals for a tennis racket? (power, control, spin, comfort, etc) What is your game style? What is your grip style?

    • @ER_aka_RAM
      @ER_aka_RAM 5 місяців тому

      @@SolowSports Point taken as you mention, it’s a lot of lead to bump up the static weight. If I was to pick 3 characteristics for a racquet; Power, Control, and Comfort. I primarily hold a semi-Western rotating between an Eastern grip, and a single handed backhand.
      Sorry about the confusion… I’m only rotating between the Percept 100 and both Blades (demos at the moment). I mentioned the 97D as it’s option in their lineup, but I would probably lean towards the 100D as the differences in spec between the 100 and 97s aren’t even close
      I’m a shorter player with wheels, so pretty much an all-court counterpuncher as opposed to a baseline basher, etc. 🙃

      @@ER_aka_RAM You should try Head Boom MP or Pro or Clash 98 as some great options that you might like for control, comfort, and power.

      @@SolowSports Much appreciated… I ended up with customized v9 Blades (18x20 + 16x19 RG) after revisiting the 18x20 with fresh NXTs at 57lbs.
      Clashes are too soft-n-buttery (maybe a retiree stick 🙃), and the Boom’s had too much ‘Boom’ (pun intended) 😄
      I’d really like to get an Ultra Pro to my Blade specs (11.55 4HL 330 SW), but I played a Coach’s Blade Pro v8 and never felt anything as balanced as that racquet! The thicker beam does a lot for that lineup.
      Pretty nice options out of Wilson!
