I agree. I actually grew up with these because this was the Dragonball Z dub that I grew up with that I have seen on KSMO back when it was a UPN affiliate.
The title card font they chose for ‘The Battle Begins…Goku, Where Are You?’ along with the episode theme *really* nails the tone of desperation and suspense for what Gohan, Piccolo and the others are about to face.
Kudos to whoever did the titles for investing so much effort into making each one as unique and dynamic as possible! The graphics look very quiaint by today's standards... But that makes them all the more charming!

The original upload had very generic looking text for the Arrival of Raditz episode...and it was only called "Arrival". Said upload also slightly skipped some of the episode titles, so this is the complete version.

They had nothing to do with creative decisions like that. Funimation always dubbed the series in America they just outsourced the voice acting to ocean studios and were distributed to television and funded by Saban. Home video right were given to Pioneer.
Yeah, it really made it look like Recoome was going to be a major threat (which we was until Goku showed up). Really wish they were able to all of these up to Buu even if they'd lose interest or money at some point.
I'd be down for alternating them depending on the moment. If there's action going on at the moment, use Faulconer. If you're trying to set up something important, use the Ocean Dub score.

It's looks like someone used some cheap editing software and some stock sounds and did the absolute best maked as high quality as they could with somewhat okay editing skills and it looks like it's mean in the mid or late 90s

The worst of all is during the Ginyus appear, it is like someone made that as a powerpoint presentation and it looks so awful. So yeah, I prefer the white text and its original whimsical and adventurous tone of DBZ in my opinion.
Too bad the show was pretty silly. Episodes open like we're about to watch something major happen and then we get "another dimension" and such. Still love HFIL.
That's because Ocean Dub had the likes of Ron Wasserman IIRC and while Japan has their Kikuchi and Yamamoto, we can't act like their music worked for every scene compared to moments where this type of music works best.
I love these. I never liked the happy and triumphant sounding Japanese ones with the first theme. I shouldn’t have that sort of music when Krillin is getting impaled in the recap.

when i was a child the title card and theme for Escape from Piccolo creeped me out the same thing with the title card for time's up.
