Remember when we got Werewolves, witches, vampires and fairies all in one thoughtfully made expansion pack.
Well people complained about that because people complain about everything. They were mad that they bought an entire occult pack when they may have only been interested in one occult. So instead, now we have 4 packs that cost $20 each (are you doing the math??).
Well instead of fairies, we have mermaids and they cost $40 all on their own.

I kind of wish the wolves looked more scary and less like the "furry" style, but overall the pack looks like fun! I'm most excited for the new objects and CAS styles. The new world looks nice too, I just hope we get more lots.

This new world is giving Granite Fall vibes, and I'm here for it, I love that world and to be able to live in an area like it permenantly would be nice

The pack is already cool, they aren’t going to go super realistic. The flat face is kinda what throws it off, but the pack is much more than just the werewolves.
At 0:54, I noticed a picture of Vlad clawed out which I think is a cool detail, but I hope it means that werewolves and vampires can fight each other while using their powers.
I caught that too. It would be fun if werewolves despised vampires and vice versa. If that is the case, I'm definitely making a household of vamps and wolves to see how chaotic it gets.
One of the hints on twitter says something like "century long conflict". So i think they would hate each other.
Now I can finally live out the final Twilight battle the world dEsErvEd!!!
I think it will be so. Vampires and werewolves have always been in conflict.
The punching bags also have vampires spray painted on them, so if they can’t fight that’d be a huge let down

And maybe since we're getting more kits they're actually putting more time and effort into the packs. But we'll see like i said. I dont expect it, but you never know. (It would be nice tho haha)

right? this could well and truly be my favourite game pack (besides parenthood) if it’s done well. i’m so hyped i love werewolves, but if they ruin it i’m going to be beyond upset. this trailer looks so good, i don’t want to be disappointed
I like the world, like the aesthetics.. I just don't understand why they didn't give the werewolves proper digitigrade werewolf legs. It would have made the werewolves look so much better. They look like they belong in the cats musical movie and we all know how cursed that looked 🥲
Because it would be WAY too costly? Remember, the Werewolves in Sims 3 didn't have it either.
They would have had to edit so many objects that the wolves could interact with to make it work as well as make a tonne adjustments to the sims themselves to get it to work. Remember everything they make has to (theoretically) work with all the stuff sims have in other packs AND cc and mods. So keeping it simple makes it less likely to bug out and to make sure that cool build buy pack you downloaded off someones patreon still works.
Yup, its extremely expensive to build an entire new character rig just for a game pack!

Please, please, PLEASE don’t let us down. This trailer actually made me quite excited for the pack (I love the world, CAS items, B&B items, werewolf form customization, and the werewolf interactions, and I like that they actually seem like werewolves and not just hairy people, but there’s something about the way they look that’s just off) but I’m worried that it’s not going to live up to the expectations you’ve set and/or it’ll be super laggy and buggy. Please don’t let us down again.

@@kiaira8824 Fr. I didn’t even buy MWS because it was so laggy, and honestly IMO it ruined weddings. I would’ve bought it for the CAS and B&B items if it didn’t replace weddings. This one I might buy anyways just because I like the CAS and B&B items, but it’s sad that we even have to worry about it being so laggy that it’s unplayable. It’s sad that we always expect the least now.
The trailer made me LESS excited for the pack. I *HATE* the way werewolves look.

That off look about them, I think they made them too human. I'm getting a 'Cats' movie vibe, which looked awful due to them looking too human. Maybe it's the nose, or the mouth? This trailer made me a bit excited too, but then I remembered how good the wedding pack's trailer looked, so, you can't really go by the trailers.
I absolutely LOVE this pack, but it would be good if children had beast forms, not fully developed beast forms, but TS2 styled beast forms.
We both know this is aimed at ferries thats why.
I love how gritty and punk rock the werewolves look compared to the vampires. I hope they have a bit of a rivalry going on!

@@AlibiBlu Well real wolves don't have feminine or masculine features. You can't tell whether one is a female or a male unless if you check. I like how they're androgynous, they don't look too masculine.
Now we just need packs for fairies, genies, imaginary friends, mummies, and unicorns and horses.

A year later, I still love this pack, it ties a cool story between vampires and realm of magic, the scrappy design of moonwood mill is awesome and the werewolves are cool
Looks like fun, hopefully it doesn't break our games. EA remember, there's no shame in delaying a game to make sure it runs as close to perfect as possibe. Pushing it out broken and full of bugs is criminal and just plain greedy. Do The Right Thing! 🤨

The werewolves look a little weird but I'm still excited! The world definitely gives me Life Is Strange vibes and I like that. I'm also just happy to have more occults since that's all I play with nowadays!

Yeah, that render they released really did them no favours. Am disappointed in the lack of tails and the wolves not walking digigrade, but they certainly look better than they did in TS2/TS3.

The werewolves in this are a bit furry-ish but I'm excided by the combat they showed in the trailer, I can imagine some cool werewolf vs vampire brawls!
I'm not gonna expect it, but I do wish they coded in a vamp vs wolf brawl. TS3 Supernatural had lots of fun interactions between different occults, and the sims 4 developers showed intersectionality between different packs before, so it wouldn't be an outlandish idea.

Imagine they had interesting interactions with vampires, would’ve loved to see a sort of rivalry between them or just something that would link them together for a solid storyline. In the vampire mansion they had statues of werewolves hung up as an indication of opposition (just a thought). Also wish they were abit more scary to match the other occult sims

I'm so happy we're getting more occults finally. Occult players have been starved majorly for too long. I'm hoping now we will get fairies at some point too, that would make my lil fantasy heart so so happy 💕
I think this is the last occult, I mean, it took them forever to add in another... TS5 is probably in development, I hope they still do add in more tho but I doubt they will.

@@reeceyb505 I think they will tbh. Fairies made an appearance once in the sims 3 and it's now the most requested occult and the sims team has acknowledged it. There a good few years of content left in the sims 4 and they have also stated that too, I am honestly just really hopeful because they are my main occult that I've wanted in the game and ik we have an amazing mod by spinning plumbobs but I'd love an official pack and world for them. I just don't see why they wouldn't at least finish like all the main occults before launching the sims 5

Personally, I am excited for this one. I don’t mind the way the wolves look, and I love the look of the clothes, town, and furniture.
I am still nervous about glitches and gameplay after wedding stories, but I have a feeling this is still going to be a good one.

Why is the new standard for a Sims pack being good "it doesn't even look THAT bad"? I keep seeing comments like this over and over again. The developers who make the game have in many cases decades of experience, so why are we as players giving severely sub-par products praise just because they're not total trainwrecks? We should only be praising packs if they go above and beyond and bring new complexity and depth to game play and has outstanding visual design, and a pack hasn't met BOTH of those criteria since Seasons, frankly.

I dig the style of the werewolves. I wasn't so sure from the cover art, but seeing them in-game really sold me, especially on the customization and the different head shapes. I just wish they had tails and actual paws (at least for the feet), but I'm sure some mods can fix that (though I'm sure there are tails a plenty already lol)

we have wolvesbane, territory marking, peeing anywhere, and cute new clothing options. I'm glad the wolves arent super gendered and they all look the same. its a pet peeve to have female animals looking overly sexualised. they look a little off but I liked the wolf with glasses

Yeah- I didn’t like how the Sims 3 werewolves looked like excessively hairy, pointy-eared underbite humans. If I hear were*wolf*, I’m gonna expect it to look like a wolf.
I was surprised to see how many people didn’t like the way the werewolf looked in the leaked picture. I personally really liked it. It’s cute, fit the game aesthetic well and actually look like wolf unlike the ones from previous Sims games. For those of you that don’t like it remember it will be (most likely) customizable like alien, mermaid and vampire.

I admit, when I first saw the cover art, I was very skeptical about what the final product would look like, but I'm actually happy with their proportions, as well as their realistic animations and interactions!
It looks like there was a lot of thought given to the design of this pack, so I am really looking forward to what's in store for us.

Well EA can't make everyone happy, can they? 😂 I'm definitely impressed how much they improved in everything even if it took them almost 8 years 😂 But one thing I'd love to have in TS4 now is more "hide and seek" when it comes to occults. Like reactions from humans and stuff that really impacts the story 🤔 I need a crowd of angry human sims hunting down Vlad because his midnight visits are so annoying 😂

It looks like there were Moon phases, and I'm interested in seeing if there actually are, and if so, if they have an effect on anything else besides the werewolves in the game.
Where did you see them because I only saw the same full moon we've been seeing?
Personally I hope moon phases are base game and it affects other stuff as well. Maybe astrology being introduced?

I loved the moon phases in the Sims 3, I hope they will bring them back now.
It would've been nice if they had given us proper witches and not the cheap spellcasters, where moon phases would affect the potency of different spells (such as positive spells would be more powerful in the waxing phase, and negative spells in the waning phase). I really hope this isn't just another cashgrabber pack that they made in a rush just to give players what they wanted and call it a day.

The werewolves look a lil wonky but everything else looks super cool, and the info on the pack page is cool. Like the video showed a den like thing. Which was cool. Plus that was an elevator. I would say its because humans don't have tails normally but logically its probably because of clipping and the skeletal structure of the model that would need to be changed to accommodate a tail. like how link's hat in legend of zelda had that to make it move.

I would like the choice to make them scary like vampires, but they are kinda cute in like a cartoon way. zootopia vibes. some say the kinda look like furies though lol

I don’t see a problem with making them not that scary but also customization options to make them more scary. But I don’t think the design it that bad the more I think about it. Just different.

Finally we have werewolves! They're a little bit more anime/anthro/furry looking than I would prefer, but I'm still looking forward to it and all the other stuff we'll get from the pack!
They blend in with the overall aesthetic of The Sims 4, which leans more cartoonish than realistic. Otherwise, I feel the same excitement for all the features with Werewolves. Especially the pack dynamics and the potential for a Skill Tree like Vampires and Spellcasters have naturally geared toward Werewolves.
@@Deadaccountant idk, I feel like it doesn’t match. It looks more like a costume than an actual werewolf. The dogs look a lot more realistic than these werewolves. I feel like it would of matched if they did the same look as they did with the dogs, the werewolves just look way too cartoony.
They will probably make a decent base for CC creators to work off of for longer/messier hair etc. I do wish there were an option to utilize a "dog" type skeleton for a fully "shifted" look a la Weres of Twilight and Omegaverse. But I'm sure that would have brought more challenges than ever worth it. This will certainly be an interesting process to see unfold.

Likely it can't be because it has to be compatible with only base game, but there's a chance they changed their rules about it and/or have just lore but no actual vampires in the world so it can be compatible. There was that hint about some past conflict sooo there's definitely something there...
@@hilary3219 i would think at the very least there would be some cross compatibility between the vampires and werewolves because we've definitely had different packs interacting before, even if they're just certain interactions. plus, you don't NEED to actually make vampire characters to convey the story, i'm sure
@@hilary3219 Not necessarily true! There are certain ways all the packs interact with one another. Even if they WON'T interact, all you need for a vampire v werewolf storyline is to have both packs.
They can’t do this because it has to be compatible with only base game, also, the sims 3 supernatural town is jam packed with Twilight lore so they won’t do it again 🙂

I said this as an occult player, i am glad they did that or we'll end up with witches, fairies a.k.a witches 2.0, recycled family-friendly vampires with extra meaningless social interactions, and not even half-baked werewolves that is ts3 supernatural.
@@XVlove I would argue that everything in the sims 4 is half-baked, and I wouldn't be suprised if the werewolves were either. From this trailer it looks like the sims have different walk cycles, can pee on the ground, can howl, and can fight each other. I'm sure there's some extra gameplay, but almost certainly not enough to warrant the price and not enough to be fun for longer than 2 days 🤷♂️
@@ghoslt i don't know about that, cause i think vampire is the best we've got in ts4. The game certainly isn't great, but i can certainly say I played a lot more hours as vampires in the Sims 4 than in the Sims 3 and 2 combined. Unlike ts3 supernatural, this way, i can pick and choose. If werewolves turns out to be bad, i don't have to waste more of my money just to play vampires, or in the Sims 3 supernatural case, witches, and i don't have to pay extra for half-baked stuff like Werewolves or zombie, etc. You get what your money worth, granted the pack their selling has good quality like vampires.

Today in my view, The Sims has lost its purpose (being a life simulator) to be a fantasy game with Aliens, Vampires, Werewolves, etc.

Personally been waiting for this and I'm so excited looks like the wolves are customizable which I'm so freaking excited and toddler howling is literally cutest thing ever I can't! I wish they would have little more scary not so clean more of rough then smooth for the werewolves but I'm loving what I'm seeing I can not wait for Cas build items seeing all the cool things about the werewolves
I like that from this trailer the models even for the female werewolves don't fall into that design trap where they make their faces super small, delicate, and pretty and their bodies curvy and overly human.

I actually don’t like that…i do really like that they don’t look overly human, but it seems like they don’t retain literally any of their sim body shape. I still want all the varying shapes and sizes I create my sims to be. A very lazy, “larger” sim shouldn’t automatically be super buff as a werewolf, and I hope that’s not the case. I wouldn’t want it exaggerated, but I was hoping for some distinguishing features between them. Like, a female bodybuilder has a different form than a male bodybuilder, simply because of the differences in the way they build muscle 🤷🏻♀️ I’ll still buy it and enjoy it of course, I’ve been waiting a long time for werewolves!
I'm a bit iffy on the werewolves but the more I look at them the more I like them. If we can customize the head then we can probably make it more werewolf-like.

I have been begging for werewolves to come back, since the base game dropped; and now that I see the trailer, I am so excited... for the flannels. They honestly set the bar really high for future occults with this one and I’m shocked. I’m glad that werewolves always have the threat of going on a rampage no matter what, even if you have lunar resistance, somber howl, or will to resist if your sim rampages their very transformation will scare people and ruin relationships. I also love how will to resist won’t always work and somber howl has a cooldown. I do think lunar resistance is boring and I regret buying that for my werewolf cause full moons aren’t as fun but it is good for players who think rampages get in the way too often. The fact that sims gather around you or you lose relationship when doing wolf activities is a good consequence; a whole crowd formed when my sim marked her territory. The only complaints I have are that some of the townies (even ones I created for the empty lot) are stuck in their wolf forms and wont go back to human form (the exception being pack members). My sim proposed to a werewolf sim I made for other lot and since she didn’t have transformation mastery I had to wait for her to rampage. It’s also annoying that my sim became fated mates with the first sim she flirted with, in my situation it was ok because I wanted them to be together but it seemed too quick I wish it was harder to get that.
Anyways, love this pack.

As I write this comment, I recently installed and started playing the Sims base game on Steam, and this pack seems very interesting to me because of the design of the werewolves, which I think are much better than those of Sims 2 and especially of 3, It makes me want to get it together with the rest of the expansion is packs, etc (if it wasn't for how much it would cost to have them 😞).
Although I would like them, apart from lycanthropes, to include other species of "werebeasts" or "anthro" animals, similar such as werebears, werefelines, etc. Something like Animal Crossing.

Personally I liked the werewolves in the previous games since they had the cross-humanoid-wolf look as opposed to just having a wolf head and furry body here.
I hope there are options to customize your werewolf to give ‘‘em a more human appearance along with werewolf body features and not just looking anthropomorphic wolves that stand on their feet. I like that sims 4 vampires for example had the features to make vampire sims look like normal humans, or human enough but with some vampire features or just creepy looking vampires with grey cracked skins, those creepy black eyes with glowing red iris and all those exaggerated facial features in CAS. However the player sees the way the want their occults to look to fit their game storyline.

That’s not complaining, that’s an opinion.
Also what’s bullshit about me saying that players should be able to have the options in having their werewolves sims look like the furries they showed in the trailer as well as also having the options to customize the werewolf like we could in sims 3? With the other sims 4 occults we could create so many variations, from more human looking to other worldly. But here it looks like they’ll all just have fur (which we can customize the Color) and a wolf head. And again what was the complaint ? Don’t opinions exist?
