I wonder how the orchestra felt while performing this. I mean, they're probably used to very formal crowds that just clap after every performance, but here the crowd literally cheered after their overture and sang at the top of their lungs, must've been surreal.
I've played in the orchestra for much smaller versions of events like this - a band accompanied by a symphony orchestra. the biggest and most serious one I did was just last week, for about 2500 people in the audience. I'm in university, so the thought of playing for that many people was nuts - I've never done anything like it. the energy was insane, it really was magic. loved it. and it was a comparatively tame group (Indigo Girls) compared to BMTH. but still just amazing. if I could only gig for events like that, I would.

Crazy randomly reading this comment,me and my best friend Josh would sing this song together,he sadly overdosed 7 years ago.I always come back to this specific song just for memories of my old friend.
You can see the absolute joy that all of the backup/choir singers have on their faces when they hear the whole concert hall singing with them at 5:25. That’s gotta be a lifelong memory for them.
yeah this is an energy most orchestra performers will never get to experience. best part for me is a metal crowd going nuts after the awesome intro by the orchestra, bet they were not expecting this crowd to enjoy orchestra music.
@@henrygaraffa5584 I very much doubt they would practice everyday thinking: "They will probably not enjoy this piece." Ofcourse they thought they would. If they'd think that what they're currently practicing doesn't sound according to the expectations of the audience they'd change various things about the piece. They wouldn't just call it a day knowing that the audience may not enjoy it.
@@GuitarListen im more talking about the crowd going nuts after the overture. im guessing thats a bit more energy than they normally get from their audience.
it's a good moment but im not seeing any emotions on their faces much less absolute joy so don't know about that. They look fairly experiences so I don't think something like that would have much of an effect on them. Good moment for the crowd tho.
Having a disagreement with an elderly family member complaining current music is all autotuned and or digital, can’t hear the effort, the singer, and or band. This video: hold my cup of tea
In fact, classical music is the mom of all our "new" "style" of music so there's no surprise honestly....classical music is in everything you hear today.
Well I mean, although this particular song is more like Alternative Metal or even sort of Nu-metal, traditional metal such as Heavy metal and some of the more technical subgenres have huge ties, in terms of composition and musicality, to classical music, hence the existence of sub genres like Symphonic metal and Neoclassical metal
Jonny Simpson Because much of it is all very very different? Like without genres how would people describe their specific favourite style of rock, or any music? "Oh yeah I like it when bands play using specifically downtuned 7 string guitars in a polyrhythmic progressive manner with hints of neoclassical jazz grooves and some heavily processed synthesisers layered over vocals recorded in a studio located in Zimbabwe" sounds way too complicated when you could just say "I like bands in the [insert genre name] style"
Literally there is no way someone can hate this. It is absolutely beautiful. The rich orchestra, the invigorating band, the echoing sound of the choir, the lead singer's emotional voice. The only thing you could ask for is a better recording...being there live had to be an experience akin to heaven on earth. There is no way any human could possibly hate this, as there is something for everyone in this.
Yeah I showed this to my friend and she said she didn't like it. I mean...what the fuck?! It's a fucking masterpiece, every single second of this song is perfect, how could someone not like this? But well...I'll just let her listen to that mainstream radio pop music. This is so fucking epic though.
@@yupthatsmyusername3596 The thing is, there is no much difference between this song and the "mainstream radio pop music", which is the exact reason why so many people who listened to BMTH's previous songs hate them nowadays.Your friend, though, might just hate the song for the sake of hating it, which is normal behaviour for minors (and which I assume both of you are). Most of the time, people/children feel like they need to like/dislike specific music to prove loyality or specialty or i dunno what. Nevertheless, I agree with the fact that the orchestra works very well with BMTH's newer songs and - in my opinion - you must be some kind of misanthropist to hate the musical and emotional harmony, not only in the song but also in the crowd. This isn't about "I only listen to ...." or "I hate it, cause I need to be special", this is about good sense and rationality.
You should check out the UA-cam channel, Wherepostrockdwells. They have a plethora of great cinematic sounding works. Not a whole lot of vocals though.
This must be one of the most incredible moments in the whole music world. Definitely the best thing I've seen and heard in my entire life. I'm just sad I discovered it so late😭
@@sojazlen Amo is one of the best rock albums of all time. Literally incredible. Same have only just recently found these guys. Nihilist Blues is epic.
Putting sustained strings on top of the guitars/making a staccato intro (My demons in nutshell) doesn't make you any authority in orchestration. To be frank, it isn't even the role of the band to make these - a mastering engineer or his crew does this. So no, given Oliver actually composed this (I don't know if he did), he'd be way better musician than the ones in Starset and he is not the one who should get tips.
I know, I listened to this on good earphones on pretty high volume and almost started crying because of the feeling in this and how fucking beautiful it is. It's crazy how much music can affect to you!
6:17 where the conductor is absolutely REVELING in his glory. this performance is beyond fantastic, you can see how much hard work is behind it. musicians r badass
The whole chorus, he sings it. Oli only sings “some come rain on my parade // come shove me over the edge // I’m sorry but it’s too late // So come rain on my parade” And even those parts that Oli sings, Jordan sings over him too so it would sound better. Especially in the song Avalanche. He’s the one who sings in the chorus’ “normal” high notes. Jordan deserves the spotlight
This is epic. 10/10. They really have reached a new level. The lyricism on the album was so well written and incredibly deep. Can't wait to see what the next album brings.
So proud of my amazing girlfriend (girl with blue hair in the choir) - incredible performance by all. Hearing all of the work that went in to this is insane. Can't wait for our copies of the Blu-Ray!
Ive listened to this about a 1000 times and after listening to Post Human it just reminds me that BMTH are one of the most creatively talented bands in the world.
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I just wanna say how, BMTH weren't in my life for a couple of years, and then I went through a crippling breakup (maybe like oli?), and someone important to me, reshowed me BMTH. And THEN, I discovered the album 'amo' and post human, and fuck, i've become an entire self again. Real music genuinely never dies, or disappears from your soul.
Have been rewatching this for about 4 years now and I get chills EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I wish I was able to see this in person!!! One of my most favorite and remarkable live performance I have ever heard. :')
You can tell everyone is so invested in making this great, This genuinely has to be my favorite performance ever. I have a new appreciation for Doomed and how well BMTH perform. This song will consistently give me chills despite listening to it on repeat.
I don't know if it's just me but at 5:44, Jordan was getting teary eyed and I was just a washed with SO MUCH EMOTION. Because the orchestra, the singing, the calm in it and the unity in the whole theater in that part ugh This is so beautiful. That's all I'm going to say
cam c they are raising money for teenage cancer trust and for the hospital thay save his sons life so he would be emotional but that makes it better and he is giving everything he has, so it was not a yawn and thats not overthinking it.
I went to this gig on my own because nobody wanted to go with me and I’m so glad I did! The atmosphere mixed with the orchestra and the amazing live performance from the boys was something else. I laughed, I cried, I lost my voice but damn I’d do it again! In the wise words of Jake Peralta: chills, literal chills!
I'm a huge metal fan , but damn I love when metal plays with a very different genre and becomes another majestic and out of this world type of music. For everyone who says metal is not real music you can suck it.
Dear Bring Me The Horizon, I am 41 years old and I am late, so to speak, to your scene. I've loved Tool, Chevelle, Ten Years, Breaking Benjamin, etc. My roots are well grasped with the Dead, Led Zeppelin, Allman Brothers, The Who, Clapton, Jeff Beck, Skynryd, etc. However THIS sound is of it's own. Please keep, remember this sound, this #@$% changes lives. Whatever it is you think you've come upon now, stop......and remember this power. I've heard Jordan say this was his favorite album of all .......ever, remember this.
This is so deep to the level of actually crying everytime I watch it.. He is an artist which transfers not only his pain and suffering to you, but also in a way that makes it all so clear! He is truly one of a kind and no one will ever replace him or bring anything similar to the table!
An Empty Coke Bottle yeah. I was hoping the band would stick to what made Sempiternal so great. Guess they wanted to cash in on the Pop music audience.
i remember crying in the middle of playing an Eric Whitacre song. i was second french horn and it was just beyond beautiful hearing it played perfect after working so hard on it. it’s been abt four years and i still remember it spot on
The fun part is watching the individual symphony musicians hitting their notes with pure focus/indifference and then watching the members of the band emote and rock out like it's a proper live concert.
@@peacekidxxx i agree with you. I think the difference they are trying to outline is one of stage presence. Oli is obviously entertaining and very high energy, compared to that, what is a sitting orchestra gonna do? But imo its a team effort, everyone is having a great time and the total performance is fantastic
It's 2020 and I've just found this, how the hell have I not found this sooner?! I love all of it. The work gone into writing and orchestral arrangement, the work behind the scenes from the audio engineers on the mixer, the film crew, all the hours and days of practice from every single band and orchester member. Fuck me it all came together magically. Don't underestimate how rare (and DIFFICULT) this is.
@@IDCodeNr1 then why have there been bands that have done it before? Epica has done it. Within Temptation has done. Dimmu Borgir has done it. Therion has done. Well that's not true is it. The conductor actually wrote the ochesteral score for this live show, most of the eletronic aspects of their music was written by jordan fish who is the keyboard player in the band. Lee wrote the guitars. The lead singer contributed with the vocals and lyrics.

Crazy randomly reading this comment,me and my best friend Josh would sing this song together,he sadly overdosed 7 years ago.I always come back to this specific song just for memories of my old friend.

This hits hard…
You can see the absolute joy that all of the backup/choir singers have on their faces when they hear the whole concert hall singing with them at 5:25. That’s gotta be a lifelong memory for them.
yeah this is an energy most orchestra performers will never get to experience. best part for me is a metal crowd going nuts after the awesome intro by the orchestra, bet they were not expecting this crowd to enjoy orchestra music.
@@henrygaraffa5584 I very much doubt they would practice everyday thinking: "They will probably not enjoy this piece."
Ofcourse they thought they would.
@@GuitarListen I think he means the energy of the response. The energy at metal shows is different than any other kind. That’s why I keep going back.
it's a good moment but im not seeing any emotions on their faces much less absolute joy so don't know about that. They look fairly experiences so I don't think something like that would have much of an effect on them. Good moment for the crowd tho.
metal and orchestra go together like peanut butter and jelly
Kyubi agreed! Also I love that BMTH uses so much orchestra in their music.
🙄 this is not even metal.

@@jarodjunkin3597 BMTH is a metal band. There's nothing wrong with experimenting with your sound and trying out new genres.
Agreed. My first time hearing a combination like this was Metallica's S&M concert.
This would’ve been THE concert to see. I would trade 10 years of my life to see this concert live.
I went to one in germany
This was THE concert to see - wasn't too sure how it would work, but it was epic!
I was there! It was truly fucking amazing
SAME TBHHHH
Having a disagreement with an elderly family member complaining current music is all autotuned and or digital, can’t hear the effort, the singer, and or band.
This video: hold my cup of tea
You wouldn't think that an orchestra goes with this style of music but it honestly makes it so beautiful and perfect
Scøut why can't we just have metal. Why so many sub genres
Not they style just this genre, this is more a a fall out boy song
This isn't about "I only listen to ...." or "I hate it, cause I need to be special", this is about good sense and rationality.
chorus lyrics are kinda weak tbh, the sound is incredible though
Yup, that's my username because not everyone likes the same music duh.

I will never get tired of Jordan's powerful voice. Just so everyone knows, that's his voice you hear in the chorus.
Wait where? I can't hear it
The whole chorus, he sings it. Oli only sings “some come rain on my parade // come shove me over the edge // I’m sorry but it’s too late // So come rain on my parade”
And even those parts that Oli sings, Jordan sings over him too so it would sound better. Especially in the song Avalanche. He’s the one who sings in the chorus’ “normal” high notes. Jordan deserves the spotlight
His harmonies are stellar. His voice and Oli’s blend incredibly well.
