You should try to find some differentials out of a manual transmission Geo Tracker when you do your locker install. They are more suited for the tire size you have and will help you get some power back. I would also install a small transmission cooler and plumb it in to the return line coming out of the radiator. You got a nice looking rig there.
Samari had a 1.3 liter and carburetor, Tracker/ Sidekick/ Escudo were 1.6 liter some 8 valve some 16 valve fuel injected like my 95 Tracker. It comes stock with 5.30 gears and scoots along pretty good even with bigger tires.
Nice tracker, the weakest link in the truck is the aluminum front differential... They won't handle a locker they will break. They need a V6! I have a 89 Zuki sidekick tin top two door.

I'm getting ready to install a Lock Right locker in the rear. Have you installed your lockers yet and if so how's that working out?

But to do so I have to change the the luminum 3rd member case Otherwise it will break The locker is too strong for the luminant case
I got a Suzuki samurai 3 member Steel case It will fit But I had to do some welding in the front For this support

These rigs need rear lockers. I've got a lunchbox diff in my rear and the thing can go anywhere
