hi Ola, i want to develop myself on guitar in a fun and inspiring way. Wil there be a possibility to buy your music in the form of backing tracks/tabs? You are one of the few known virtuose who uses D standard. I would buy your music for educational purposes only. I would totally understand if you don't release your solo work in the form of backing tracks. You do already have stuff around the internet from the Haunted, but thats free and i like that. But i wouldn't mind to spend some money on your music (and make you richer) to learn from it and come up with own guitar solo ideas, just saying.
Let's not forget that Delta Empire is an incredible drummer and this is another fine example of his impeccable technique, rhythm and style. He's a huge part of this record and deserves a lot of thanks for his hard work :D
But after the exposure Delta got cause of Ola his session prices shot off the roof! He's good but all he's really doing here is complementing Olas existing riffs.
@@khero123 and that's exactly what a great drummer does. just blatantly wanking over parts for attention shows someone knows how to play drums, and not how to write a great song.
@@whatskraken3886 Now that I think about it people certainly do it more now but not always, no. At least not right away I don't think. I'm honestly not sure anymore. You can get music from basically anywhere now so it doesn't seem to matter. I'm old now. Apparently. I also haven't paid for music since I was 22 so I have no idea how one does so. So there's that. But then again that means Ola's just average and that can't be true because he is indeed a legend which means we've reached an impasse and I'm going to do old people things, maybe have an existential crisis. Thanks for this oddly revealing comment.
One of the best albums of the year! My list of this year's favorites: 1° Terminal Velocity - John Petrucci 2° Liquid Tension Experiment 3 3° Starzinger as Ola Englund
Natural follow up after Master of The Universe. It's really nice hear your riffs from swola in final form with full power. A Bid Farewell is great closing, and nice touch with putting Solar Pt2 riff, as some kind of another stage journey. So much diversity on that album. There's everything here, heaviness, stanky face makers, groove, sensitivity. Amazing.
Having had the privilege to listen to this prematurely has also made me feel annoyed I can only hit the like button once... Ola, this is a masterpiece. I can't wait for my ultimate edition 🤘🏾
When songs give the listener an emotional reaction beyond just headbanging, you know its a good album. Petrucci, Vai, and Satriani have some competition! Ola, this album (and MotU) show that you don't have to play 2 million notes per second to be a great musician!
I had no idea how you could follow up Master of the Universe, but here we are. Another incredible album. Makes me feel so good to listen to your music!
Oh hell yes!!! Space invaders is a song on this album, heard a snippet of it in last SWOLA and was hoping for it. A mix of Austin Wintory and Bear Mcreary. Bane of Skeletor such a Hauntedy track. Ola is right where he belongs! Bluesy, wow Balegmah!! Wow that last track, very fitting. Great album, can't wait to hear some of the new The Haunted stuf, and can't wait to get me grubby hands on the Ultimate edition once it ships!!! To everyone litening to this album right now I wish you a good day and a great week!!!
Sheeeeeit....it gives me instant stankface when the guitars drop on top of the synths at the beginning of Stars & Ponies. Going to jam this while working all day!
Incredibly nice work Ola. To have such good stuff to listen to in this difficult times makes it easier to cope with. You have become such an inspiring, awesome and growingly unique guitarist and musician during the past years. You can be so proud of yourself. Keep it up, stay safe. Solid 6/10!
While listening Balegmah: 'why it sounds like Jeff Loomis?', then I looked into description and everything cleared, dude has such a distinctive "vocabulary" and phrasing. Nice album btw.
Just now getting around to listening to this & man it's taking me back to when i first started playing & was just discovering artist like Satriani, Becker, Vai ect. Good job Ola! ❤
That first solo in stars and ponies is like nothing I've heard. Just so much emotion. I could listen to this track days on end and never be sick of it.
Shiiiiiit. Got cell phone YT notification of this video while I was outdoors so I rushed back home to play it through my audio system. Sounds really, really mature, guess we're the children of the late 80s and early 90s so I hear a lot of my musical heroes influenced Ola too who's progressig it to yet another level. This is a perfect example of how the 21st music should sound, mix all all genres, classical music backed by synthwave loops and modulated with distorted phrygian scale guitars. Telepathy is the next thing in future comms so no point in having vocals in modern songs. Perfect.
It's perfectly sound advice for new artists. Nobody waits for a new artist to release a full album. It's way better to stick to single releases. The artist can basically adjust directions on the fly instead of sticking to one thing for the production of an entire album. It's a waste of time and maybe even money. Ola on the other hand already has a platform with thousands of followers to work with. That's a different scenario.
I must say that I really like it! What a journey! The whole album experience feels much-much better than the separate singles. Looking forward to get my hands on the preordered vinyl :) Thanks for the awesome piece of art, Ola! Hats off!
I know you say you don't like listening to your material but you gotta have pride in this. It's great! Balegmah...... the solo.... the groove at the end! Killer!
I think Ola's solo albums are gonna become my go-to tracks for when I first start pouring drinks, but don't quite feel like singing along yet! All the METAL, but none of the screaming and shouting! 🤘
A solid 6/10 for that Awsome album Ola. We better be seated and with a seatbelt on because it takes us on a incredible journey. Shoutout to all the contributors to the album. Thanks for putting such great music and content.
Ola at his best here. Great album. Diverse, dynamic, creative, and heavy even in the clean sections. When do we get the DeadMau5 remix of Space Invaders?
Fantastic album Ola. Have been listening to it all morning. It appears 7 people hold their phones upside down and and have gotten confused at which way the thumbs up should be....,
The rhythm guitar sounds very much like our Ola Englund, but overall this is quite diverse and delicious at the same time, even the soloing is pretty much spot on. Loving the synthies and sax! Great job!

Bane of Skeletor - "Hey buddy come here. I have something interesting for you. After a galloping thrash solo and heavy metalcore breakdown, what would you most like to hear? Of course, a little jazz for your soul and I got it here". Love it) Good stuff.
Obviously the riffs on display here hit all the right places, but can we take just a moment to say how TASTEFUL Ola's lead playing is? I know he doesn't regard himself as a lead player, but he is legit better than most who do.
Hi Ola. Presented the new album to two of my friends. One of them already bought the digital version! So at least two more portuguese metal headbangers listening to your album!
I just got the wife into albums and not CD by going to the the thrift store and finding some zeppelin for her (and going to see a LED Zeppelin tribute band with her) now that's love! Bluesy McBluesface is so nice. How cool is is that a guitar shredder is able to write really cool blues songs as well.
