Would have been nice to hear a NDSD track..... so you really can hear what Bricasti can do with DSD files 😉👍

I have to agree Peter. Incredible details like hearing new shades again, and that matching of components is just match made in....... someone's shop :).
Totally non fatiguing non boxy sound. Ceramic speakers playing metallic sounds....just WOW

    So...
I am a long time fan of AV Show Reports. I have watched many vids more than once.
    And...
I am a fan of the 70's German school of electronic music (Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Conrad Schnitzler, Michael Hoenig, Roedelius, and to a lesser extent, Kraftwerk), but using any of them to audition high end audio seems a bit off the mark.
How would you go about evaluating the accuracy of the equipment under eval? With electronic music, you have no reference point as to how accurate the equipment is? You have no idea how those synths actually sounded when the recording was made, unlike acoustic instruments, which always sound pretty similar. A violin is easily recognizable, and much easier to tell if the equipment is accurate or not.
Where, with those 70's analog synths, it is anyone's guess on how they were set (envelopes, filters, decays, etc, etc), or even which kind (Moog, ARP, String Ensemble, Korg, etc), or how they were recorded.
And what about image and soundstage? All those synths were connected directly to mixing boards in studios. They were not recorded in a real space, picked up from a mic. So, there is no image, soundstage, or ambience to record, and therefore, nothing to evaluate the equipment with regards to these attributes.
Other than maybe frequency response, I see no other reason to use this sort of music.
