Wow that was a very super duper Amazing Coromandel Express full journey but this train is very fast n furiously in between Howrah to Chennai😀🙂✊✋👐👌👍🤘🙌😊🖒💪☝🚄🚅🚆🚇🚉🚝🛤😇🤗😉😆😄😃😁
Retro 40 years back .. Coromandel was introduced in the year 1977 I believe , Highlights then 1.Travel Time 24 hours - used to leave HWH around 1830ish and reach Madras next day same time, in time to connect to Madras Bangalore mail 2200 hrs. Return leave Madras 815 AM and reach HWH 810 AM next day. 2. No direct connection between HWH and Bangalore those days. 3. 3 stops only Bhubaneshwar, VIzag and Vijaywada. 4.Vijaywada, Vizag haul was sometime WP Class Steam, rest was Diesel . 5. Only 3 major trains in that route, Howrah Madras Mail, Coromandel, 1 express and East Coast Express plus maybe some more.
At 12:12, assuming it was a DM-3D, it didn't have DR-styled DBR. That's quite a rare view. Also, throughout the journey, including the first part of this video, I don't remember spotting any G-9 ever. Are G-9s that rare over there? Anyway, I have a question. At 0:34, there's a yellow signboard that the train was passing by which reads 'Loco Pilot TE Limitation Bridge Ahead'. What does that mean? Can anybody expound on it?
Nice video....good compilation with those illustrations...reminds me of my regular train travel between Chennai- Vizag and vice versa...travel time within 13hrs
Great video as always, but the most brisk , nonstop superfast run from Vijayawada to Chennai is reserved for Rajdhani(NZM-MAS). The train is usually about an hour late at vijaywada than it's scheduled arrival at 2:35 pm.(some slack is there in the timetable), and from there it tries to reach chennai in about 4.5-5 hours. Just super action with very limited slowing down. as it crosses station after station. No stops in between as it runs right through the dusk reaching Chennai around 8:30 pm.
Phenomenal video (as usual from you)! I traveled in Coro in the early 80s. It was amazingly fast then. Sparked my interest in Indian Railways. Sadly, it is a shadow of it's former self. Can't believe that they added halts at Eluru & Tadepalligudem etc.
The train was delayed by 1 hour enters Chennai 10 minutes before , when I was in college in Bhubaneswar that time the 2nd stoppage of this train after KGP was Bhubaneswar.
I like your videos you do good work. But I have a suggestion. You should record some of the stations where the train stops . Like the Chai Walla going chai garam Garam Chai and the different food one can get as the train journeys on . But keep up the good work. I have been on most of these journeys but then they had steam engines.
Wonderful video bro, loved all the instructions which u mentioned by each yellow mark pen, crossing other trains, stations ways, exactly the correct responses u showed by video, but one thing, if u could took internal part of some station like bhubaneswar, vishakhapattanam, vijaywada, the video could have been more delightful, whatever else, video i enjoyed lots, respect indian train,
Abhishek matthew Well it does Vijayawada to Chennai.. NON STOP. That's approximately 430+ kilometres. It constantly hits its MPS during this section i.e 120Kmph. Hence it makes up before time in Chennai. Also this train is the no.1 priority in this route and the entirety of SER.
Only if the average speed is increased to 100km this journey would be much shorter and more pleasant. Sitting on economy class for 27 + hours is no fun
Francocallederivas safety first indian railways have a lot of issues regarding accidents and coromandel has a well documented history of accidents in the past
Millard Keyes, the train is travelling at a max speed of 110 kmph and an average speed of 60 kmph in this line... Some trains may go upto 120 kmph. 140-150 kmph speed in this route is under trial stage.
The train Coromandel Express as you can see is already touching 100+ in some stretches. The last part of this video the train was sure touching 110 kmph constantly. It needs to do that more often. Also India is a beautiful country. India is filled with fields, rivers, bridges, waterfall etc. We are a rural and an agrarian economy so most of India depends on agriculture for a living. That is not to say that it is some backward hell hole. But 27 hours is fun because of this. Also railway stations have an ambiance of their own unlike in developed countries. These make train journeys in India very interesting.
Nice video covered the speed & mighty bridges across mighty Godavari & Krishna fantastic

Could not believe there were 49 trains in 27 hours (possibly excluding night sleep) ; 19 in 1st Video and about 29 in the 2nd Video.
