@@randoarchive I read in on Hardcore Gaming 101's review of the game, which also said she may have also been somewhat inspired by Milia from Macross (and for the Dirty Pair inspiration, they believe it was Yuri, obviously).
The best thing about Time Gal (Reika) is how adaptable she is due to her abilities. A film can easily work or series would be perfect (different time zones for each episode, with or without a connected plot) Video games? give her platformers, FPS, SHMUP (shown with her appaearance in Castle of Shikigami 3), fighting the list goes on. She really could have become Taito's mascot.
Fantastic work watching all of this, like deaths were seeing getting you killed makes you restart the whole scene can be frustrating picking the wrong decision but picking it correctly makes you pro player
Amazing that just when I learn of the game and want to look for high quality scenes to make a few gifs, that this video was uploaded only a week before. Thank you for the upload.
The storage of the images is surprising. I thought surely the death scenes would be very close to where you make the correct choice and jump over the bad move to continue the video. Instead the video is non-stop all the way through and the death scenes are saved until the end of the point where the level finishes. While there is no denying the speed of the DISC to jump neatly to the death scene, it might've been faster and easier to record keeping the death scene directly at the point where after the video continues.
@Robert Lopresti: Yea I just DL'd the Sega Saturn version (couldn't find a Sega CD version) and the graphics were terrible compared to the arcade version (the resolution seems to be waaaay lower). I wish I could find the real Laserdisc arcade ROM, or the Sega CD version if it has the same level of detail and resolution. To the OP: Check out Ninja Hayate, its another Laserdisc game just like this, and Dragons Lair & Space Ace. I DL'd Time Gal and Ninja Hayate came bundled with it.
Where can you get the arcade version of this game and what emulator is it for? Its not supported by MAME and the console versions look really pixellated compared to the arcade version (for obvious reasons).
I think it was just written for this game, and maybe only for non-Japanese territories. I believe this was the original intro: ua-cam.com/video/0CvT49dXy9s/v-deo.html
I wish Time Gal was a show.
The sounds she makes when she dies are hilarious.
null1023 and cute
Time Gal wasn't only inspired by _Dirty Pair,_ she also was inspired by Lum from _Urusei Yatsura._
I never noticed that, but I think you're right.

Am I the only one who thinks she should have her own movie or series?

a movie? no. a series? yes
Animated by Toei in 1985. They were also animating Transformers the movie and fist of the north star that year.
They also animated Interstella 5555, a music video set to the tune of Daft Punk’s Discovery album, in 2003.
I'd defo play a Fist of The North Star laserdisc style game!
What about GI Joe?

This was very much in need of a good tight edit, thank you so much
Love the sound effects in this game.
the evil one death makes me remember the Paradox Death
4:16 by far the best death cutscene ever animated.
I question the historical accuracy of this game.
あがとりい。心の底からの感謝を申し上げます。

thanks for this, beautiful animation and good rip! looks like the death scenes for the last stage are missing though?
She's pretty rubbish at time travel if she keeps missing like that.
CkVega Time travel may still not be an exact science in 4001.
Hahahaha she is so kawaii and friendly xD
awesome, wish we could get this game on HD
do you know of any other japanese game like time gal( I know in america we got space ace and dragons lair)
Cliffhangers. From the animators of Lupid the Third.
Time Gal was later converted to Sega CD. Animation was reduced to 6 frames per second and was English dubbed.
