It would be helpful to refer to a tutorial for creating the architect file, maybe a simple one for complete beginners who don’t have it. I had to go create one before returning to this
This is a good attempt to show how various electrical items in Revit can be used, but don't take it as a real design! .in real design, cable trays will be used to connect between Main panel to DBs or large equipment only. Conduits will be used to connect lights / power points to DB. 20 or 25 mm dia Conduits will be fixed to ceiling above false ceiling. Conduits won't be laid inside cable trays.
Yes, i understand being a mechanical engineer i have less knowledge about electrical systems. The video was just attempt to show the use of Revit for BIM.

Hello, This is a nice tutorial for Revit, but in reality it wouldn't be a good idea to connect mechanical and lighting equipment in the same conduits. You should rather use one separate circuit for the mechanical equipment running on on side of the cable tray, and one or many other circuits for the lights running on the other side of the cable tray, with at least 10cm between the two types of cables in order to avoid electromagnetical interference. I know it wasn't the point of this tutorial to go into those kind of details, but I add this for knowledge ;)
Hi, iam a new subscriber ! Really this video is great I can easily understand infact iam a beginner I didn't use this software atleast a once but after this video its gave some confident to to myself, thanks for the efforts 🙌🏼📍
Amazing video. I would like to know if it is possible create apn electric system between the different eletrical equipments present in the project. Thanks,AD
Tutorial is great, but it is first time I see conduit installation in cable tray. Probably it because of requirements from some of local standards.

This can actually be useful if you consider the conduits symbolically represent cable strands. In reality it will be many cables grouped together, but you choose to represent them with only one large conduit in order to save time because you don't want to draw all the cables one by one. Then you can export their lengths in a table an assign these lengths to each cables in a list of cables.
Hi I couldn’t get cable tray family in my Revit,I have no idea from where can I get this cable tray family, could you share those families please? Thank you! Very good video

Open any of the elevation, create reference plane and adjust the elevation by changing the dimension. Rename the plane if you wish . During the placement of lighting fixtures select the plane and lf will attach to the plane.
There are tons of learning sites out there to learn Revit. But there is not a single large scale real-world project MEP which has been shown from scratch to commission. This is like just typical bookish Indian school.
