Stirling Immortal Mortlock . He was a powerful runner and such a unit on defence. Proves what you can do if you truly push yourself. He played each position to it's full capacity. My favorite #13 for the Wallabys. Man was a masterclass act through and through.
Thanks! My 13 year old son is playing rep footy in the centers and he wants to mentally train himself to run straight, fast and find the gaps. I couldn’t go past Mortlock and Kerevi to show him some examples. Mortlock owes Larkham a few beers after all those brilliant passes onto his chest or out front.
Don't forget their forwards. I was at Trinity Grammar & Phil Kearns did a training program with us. I was a decent player but shit scrimmaging until i met him. Wallaby forwards use to be engineers lol
Larkhams passing game was unreal. Setting up Mort lock continuously. What a team that was. Gregan. Mortlock larkham, Roth, Smith gitau the list goes on. 🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
I remember watching him play for Gordon in the Sydney comp. And he was just so focussed and intense. It didn't matter if he was playing for Australia, The Brumbies or at club level. He always gave everything. Even watching at club level when he started you just knew he was going to play for his country.
Great tribute to a great player. Not just another try-scoring only highlight reel but one that has clips of where he was useful in other areas defence, kicking and passing - highlights how effective he was for the Wallabies.
Mortlock's son was in my rugby team a couple of years back and a a young kid he was my ideal and he is the reason I play rugby in the first place and you can tell how old he is through out this career how he looses his hear over the years
Pace, strength, hands and a fearless, never say die attitude. Fantastic rugby player. From a Leaguey
As an all blacks fan, Mortlock is one of my all time favourite centres
Giteau, Mortlock, Mitchell, A-Cooper, Tuqiri what a lethal back line it was ...
with Gregan and Larkham pulling the strings
kiwi here, mate that back was next level
How about Sailor?

Morts, what a legend. One of our best ever in any position.

Majority of these games, Australia was leading on the scoreboard and that is no coincidence.
Would pick him over BOD, any day of the week! Underrated!
What a great player...
Legend!

One of the best player we have ever had
Oh man do I miss these days. I knew at the time it was consistently a time to remember heh
Mortlock's son was in my rugby team a couple of years back and a a young kid he was my ideal and he is the reason I play rugby in the first place and you can tell how old he is through out this career how he looses his hear over the years

Legend!
Champion!
can you do a full highlight of Tim Horan.
one of the best 13 to play the game
lol, at 3:22 why is there a clip of Mortlock getting a cheap shot from an opposing player clotheslining him? Hardly a highlight...
Because it shows he always put his body and his health on the line, whoever he played for he played with his all.
3:28 what kind of a highlight is that?
Shows he's had his fair share of hits against him?
he missed the kick at 4:23... not a highlight
This is one hard mf to defend back in the days
G O A T
Sure knows how to run lines
Motlock and Brian o Driscoll..
Great video but him being tackled high is not a highlight
mean player..
umm he went bald real quik tho
More streamlined
Legend!
