#reseller #yardsale #videogames Today, I take a look at one of the dumbest explanations for ripping people off that I've seen in a while. Link to my Discord / discord
I was more stunned he didn’t fletch when she offered him such an offensive offer. Really that’s insulting. I bet it’s because she’s a girl and not a neckbeard.
I have no issue with people offering low for high value items at garage sales if they're broke, but her being a reseller and damn well knowing she has enough money, I was thinking more of $100. $30 is insane for a bundle that includes mario rpg, super metroid, and chrono trigger, actual robbery.
That’s true and she said she doesn’t mind paying up for items going in her collection but then offered $30 when she knew/thought Mario RPG alone was worth $50 lol
I hate how these re-sellers always want more, more, more. They are literally like drug addicts who are fiending for more drugs, it's disgusting lol. That's a tactic they all use though...
@@steviefreakinc I said that because they always ask for more, and they like to ask the people having the garage sales if they have more games and consoles in the house. I get that they are business men and women but it makes them look desperate & weird.
Thing just kills me in these videos is I've been to so many years sales and just never see the scores these people pull in. That part kinda gets me, to see these ungrateful people get the gems out in the wild is frankly sickening
I’m not even a reseller but I put a few different cables in my truck in case I want to test out a console in wild, like goodwill for example, I’ll plug in a TV and hook up a console to see if it works, I’ll even pop in a game, the employees don’t care they make $12.50 per hour, hand them some cash if needed. A local thrift store near me called savers is terrible they have no warranty and don’t let you test anything, worst part is their prices are highest eBay listing. Garage sales I ask if I can plug in a system to see if it turns on and tray works
I mean im a reseller and usually defend it cause i see it as a service if youre restoring the consoles and giving people money for items they otherwise mightve not sold that day. But this chick bugged the hell put of me and is the reason everypne hates resellers. A genuine pos. I mean the fact she implies she doesnt want to pay for the items shes going to keep like wtf.
30 dollars is ACTUALLY insane. If all of it worked I would've at least offered a hundred. Chrono Trigger is a 200-300 dollar game. Also, the excuse they need to make a living is ridiculous.
Damn that’s insultingly low. He could’ve gotten more selling it to a local video game store, maybe even a pawn shop but pawn shops are the worst place to sell games since they act like they are trash and offer 50 cents to a buck per game. But seriously asking if a system works isn’t always a reliable method. There were plenty of times I bought systems that the seller assured me worked and when I got home they did not!
I think my problem isn't how much they under offer but rather the fact that they could probably still under offer to the point that the seller feels they just got an amazing sum for the items. Like this is what $400 or so of stuff? I'm sure being offered $100 for a bunch of old game junk would feel amazing to someone not even questioning $30. There's no reason only one person needs to walk away feeling amazing just to squeeze out 1/3 more profit or whatever. It's like being a lawyer who specializes in DUI defense, sure you might make good money and occasionally you'll help an innocent person in the process, but is it really worth being a scumbag to make a bit more than just doing a less scummy version of the same career path?
Yeah if you have to defend yourself about what you paid for then she definitely knows she underpaid lol. Its all about morality in the end for me. I would of definitely given $100 knowing what i saw in the box which would still put you in the profit. She could of looked stuff up before buying. Or even gone back and given them more knowing what they are worth now. Like Emceemur bought that bag of gc games for $40 when $50 was already a good deal. Turns out Gale of Darkness ended up work when he said the game didnt work in the comments.
Yeah I mean if they’re gonna say the seller should have done his research before selling, then why doesn’t that same logic apply here? She should have looked stuff up before buying
Imagine walking into a garage sale with my kids and seeing that SNES and games. Oh my gosh what a find?!! Kids are excited. Got $20 allowance. Dad covers the rest. Guy at the sale gives the kid a deal. We go home and have many years of enjoyment out of a console. ORRR walk into yard sale. “Oh look a pile of money!” “I’m a gamer wink wink” “CHRONO trigger? What is that?” “Screw you kid if you want it it’s $250 on ebay”.
If you’re gonna rip people off at least own it. Stop pretending you’re a good person who was ignorant. If she felt so bad do a video going back there and give him some more money.
Just the SNES game collection she got almost seems too good to be true because all of the games there are worth playing and some of them are among the most highly regarded and sought-after games on the console. I probably would have offered $300 for the SNES and games without being able to test the console and maybe even go up to $400 if I could test the console to see if it worked and I was allowed to open up the game carts to verify that none of them are repros. If that Chrono Trigger is an original copy, just that alone is worth $200. I'd still be getting a deal because the SNES stuff she bought is probably worth at least $500 if it all works, is all original releases, and is sold for the higher end of going resale prices. Though all of those games with an in-game save feature probably need their save batteries replaced at this point, which would probably cost $8 for the needed batteries because you can get a pack of 6 CR2032s for that price, but will also require a screwdriver that can open SNES cases and soldering equipment for the procedure, which will make it more costly if you don't already have those. If you don't know what you are doing, you can also destroy the game, so the average collector might be better off having someone at a retro game shop do it for them even though it will cost more. Because I'd have to do that myself is why I wouldn't offer more than $400 even if the console works and the games are legit originals. Though a lot of resellers probably don't take that into account when selling retro games, a 30 year-old battery probably won't still be working or will soon be dead if it is working and selling old games with dead or dying save batteries for the top going prices is ripping buyers off because they're going to have to pay more to actually play their games. Most games with in-game save features are unplayable without being able to save because they are too lengthy to finish in a single sitting. You could try playing a 30+ hour RPG in one sitting, but if you experience a power surge or if you're playing a difficult RPG in which you might die, you're just SOL. Imagine someone trying to beat a brutal game like The 7th Saga on the SNES without saving, that might be one of the most soul-crushingly difficult challenges in gaming.
Just to poke even more of a hole in her “ignorance”. She supposedly only priced the Mario RPG and two consoles into her $30 bid, since those were the only items they owned and she planned on selling. You’re telling me she knew exactly what games they didn’t already own while at the sale without also knowing how much they would eventually cost to collect? Every person into retro games knows Chrono Trigger is a $200+ game. $30 is an egregious offer for RPG, a wavebird receiver, and both consoles to begin with but the rest is sickening.
She also said Chrono Trigger was a good game. Not sure if she meant it’s good as in expensive or good as in good but the whole situation seems phony to me.
The fact she made that part is hilarious and what’s even more funny is her reasons are bullshit. Like stop acting like you’re poor you clearly aren’t if you have all these games.
Yeah, I think Chrono Trigger without a working save battery is worth at least 100bucks alone. Couple of screws, and and a watch battery and magically it works again.
I’m a scumbag seller and I would offered $100 expecting a counter. Also you order cheap cords for any consoles to sell them. And why keep the games if you’re a seller just sell
If resellers are going to be resellers. People must do it at market value. Not jack up prices for personal gain. Resellers are just as bad as Dkoldies. Some Resllers are just as bad as Joey from DKoldies based on their knowledge of video games. Because they don't know the actual value of the actual game. For example, Mega Man X1 is common so that goes for $40.00 - $50.00 range. X2 goes up for in the $200.00 range. And X3 goes up for in the $300.00 range. I heard that DKoldies also swap out the boards of cartridge games so it reads the wrong game then what the label says. Resellers probably does that too. If you are going to buy anything from resellers or Dkoldies, buy disc games, not cartridge games.
When she first saw the Chrono trigger, she put the Zelda on top of it and then switched it to under it, immediately I was like, oh she knows and wants to protect the label, then when she put the stack down and one over the Chrono trigger it just felt like she didn't want him to see it. The way she said okay, she sounded excited to me. I could be wrong and reading into too much but it's just interesting, prospective human behavior.
I was thinking that too and I pointed it out the first time I recorded the video but forgot to bring it up the 2nd time around. Still bummed that I had an error the first attempt at recording
If the seller said no $30 is not enough she wouldn’t of just walked away. I think she would of started crying going $35, $40, $45 and building all the way up to $100 knowing Chrono Trigger is in there. I just googled what Super Nintendo games are worth the most and photo of Chrono Trigger pops up first at the 15th most valued. Bubba Ray would of sent this chick thru a table not carrying she was a girl after hearing her bullshit excuses and lies
You can't blaming 100% on the reseller you have to blame part of it on the buyer because they are foolish to be paying the stupid prices but if the buyers will go on strike and say they're not going to pay those prices anymore they'll put the resellers out of business and it will stop that nonsense
I highly doubt she will keep those games for long. Why list the prices on the screen if you are planning to keep the games? I’m tired of scalpers, greedy resellers taking advantage of people.
@@steviefreakinc ah got it. Either way i was bustin your stones. Its funny she said she doesnt mind paying for games for the collection but did the exact opposite. Lol
@@ChumbaWumba That’s what y’all usually say about me. There’s no wrong behaviors in this at all. It must just be that Heckin Steve is a jealous fella. So jealous that he continues to make videos about resellers for a damn near year. I mean hey, if you want to believe I’m jealous, go for it bud. Thanks for watching and that’s a cool username. I had their cassette back in the day.
The only real reason the snes wouldn't work is if the power port on the back is broken. They dont die. Now the GC, thats a different story. The laser goes bad all the time. And that's worse than a bad snes power port. I've done the repairs...if i was buying all that to resell, I'd give them 150$ in a heartbeat.
I'm a collector first and reseller secong, i mean that in the best way possible. As soon as i saw CT i would have offered $100 at the least especially because they didn't have a set price in mind
@@TheBridgesYouBurnit's happening right now dude, the crash. The market is absolutely flooded because people are having to ditch their collectibles to make ends meet. The prices of nearly every game or gaming item are falling off hard, and that makes the demand fall even more, because these resellers no longer view video games as a wise investment, they have to buy lower and price lower or they are sitting on the stuff as the market continues to fall. The ass is falling out on the market as we speak. Most the games people actually want to play are all over ebay, and cheap. I seriously doubt the demand ever catches back up to the supply in a way that prices begin increasing again instead of falling off a cliff. Too many people have to dump their collection bc food is 200% and gas is up high which makes everything more expensive, and everyone is working longer hours for their money to purchase less stuff. Many people don't have the time to enjoy the games even if they wanted to. I guess we will see how it trends in the coming months, I don't see prices recovering, and that's actually a good thing.
Sadly this happens a lot at garage sales. People say just give me an offer and be fair. And you cant help yourself and take advantage of good people, and lowball. She did exactly what you were saying steve'. She wanted the stuff she needed free. Thats why she offered $30. Its very obvious!!!
I would never let that go for $30. Maybe I'll take $100-$200. A loose super Nintendo system is regularly $80, the gamecube is at $30 without controller and cables.
Imo if the person accepts the offer instead of countering it that tells me that they were ok with that price is it shitty that they got away with it? Yes but do i wish i found all of that for 30 dollars hell yes
Tell you the truth even if you asked the people do they work they can tell you anything to sell it and the it doesn't work i bought a fat PS2 for $10 bucks at the flea market getting ready to play GTA vice city and the disc drive won't spend sucks I was looking forward to playing that game now I'm trying to sell it along with another fat PS2 I screwed while cleaning for parts asking $50 for because i am hoping i can put that money torch a Playstation 2 slim
If you arent a reseller trying to gouge the market which is why its as bad as it is, offering 30 dollars for that stuff if you purely just wanted it all to enjoy and play then i think thats okay. But jsut to turn around and then sell the stuff for the current stupid ass market value makes you a bad person
@@steviefreakinc I can definitely understand that, but man the prices for these things are so overinflated even offering half of what the "market price" is sounds awful
Honestly, I’m extremely pissed with her whole attitude in the entire video! She is the most entitled reseller I’ve ever even heard of. I think she should have payed more for the lot. I think she lied about everything in that video. If she got it for $30. Then I think she should sell it for way under market value. I honestly think she should have payed $150 for it. She knew everything.
Why would she feel the need to defend herself for the majority of the video when she was okay with $30? She says, she wants to keep games and sell for a profit? The world doesn't work that way. She thought Super Mario RPG was worth $50 and she never heard of Chrono Trigger? I really don't believe that. Especially since she's in the business of selling retro games. She goes on: "I got to test them, I have to consider packaging in my price, I got to list them, I got to make money. I'm keeping them for free while making money on top of it." All I see are lies and excuses on top of excuses! I know she knows what Chrono Trigger is! Come on now!
can you do a video on retro rick finger fin'g all the games, stacking, throwing, dropping. it's on the video before his last on retro life, he also stacks consoles in his newest video on retro life. and he also stacks all his games on the ground on the n64 find from a while back on his regular channel.
@@steviefreakinc n64 ground video is from 2 years ago on his retro rick channel, it's titled I'll never get a score like this again.. would go well with his video before the newest on the retro life when the turbo slams on the floor among other things before that.
@@steviefreakinc this is why I sail the seven seas now, bought most of my stuff pre pandemic when 40 bucks for a GameCube with everything was “expensive” back in the day haha
I’m tired of these resellers being dishonest damn well she knew all those lol specially if she has a gameboy wallet she knows too much about stuff like that
Heckin' Steve new subscriber and I disagree with you. The seller said make me an offer so he didn't get ripped off. He accepted the offer, end of story. You took it to another level saying she ripped them off when that is clearly not the case. The seller could have asked for more cash after the buyer made the offer but the games and the consoles meant nothing to him.
If a kid wanted to trade his rare Charizard for a common Pikachu card does that make it fair since the kid agreed? No of course not. So why is this fair? Older people are ignorant about this type of stuff and a lot of them can’t use the internet to research prices. Or if they can, they may not have the time to. I mean there’s 100s of things for sale there.
@@steviefreakinc Prices can change on the turn of a dime. If somebody trades a Charizard card or a common Pikachu card that's on them and yes it would be a fair trade if they agreed to it. With the advent of WATA Games and the graded game market overall many retro games are way overvalued in my opinion. Market manipulation exists in video games right now. People shouldn't be looking at their video games as if they're holding gold when it's just pieces of plastic and cardboard at the end of the day, collectibles. However if people will pay absurd amounts of cash for a video game why not sell it to them? Many people got burned investing into the graded game market by paying $100,000s of dollars for these sealed games and they know they're underwater in their investments as Pat the NES Punk has pointed out. There are countries experiencing a video game crash right now as of February 2022, take Russia for instance with sanctions due to the war, physical games and online sales have been totally cut off. Other countries include Kaliningrad, Ukraine, Israel, Baltic States in Europe, Kosovo, Serbia, Armenia, Azerbaijan. Another video game crash can happen in America and people could say it's happening in the graded video game market to a larger degree. Let wider war happen or an oil embargo and priorties will shift on the turn of a dime, things that we cannot control. Prices will fall for entertainment/video games.
LOL crying over $30 if the consoles don’t work. She knows damn well you can sell stuff for parts. Also, getting 6 games literally for free and still trying to justify her reason why she offer $30. Just be honest and say I’m greedy as fuck and want more income at that point. These are the same resellers who won’t even test the console and list them on ebay have been tested.
Great video again mate, people like this need exposing - I cant believe the front she has putting her video out there and not to expect some kind of backlash! Well said though Steve, I hope your video finds its way to her inbox!!
That was Emceemur and I’d say he’s definitely in the running for the worst but I still believe that SeeDonuts has had the biggest find where he got $1000+ worth of games for $30
@@steviefreakinc yes I remember that one I don’t understand why these resellers can’t offer a fair price for stuff and still make a profit it’s sickening
I didnt see the chrono trigger till later. I woulda offered 150 minimum lol. heck dude I paid 50 for final fantasy 3 , donkey kong country, and super mario all start super mario world combo
I don't think there's a moral obligation to give people "fair value" for something they are trying to sell. It is on the seller to do their research. All is fair unless the buyer deliberately is lying. No different than going to a garage sale. One person's trash is another person's treasure.
Well if it’s the seller’s obligation to know what a fair price is, then why do a lot of resellers haggle on the price when a seller sets it? That’s rhetorical by the way. At the end of the day, I wouldn’t trade a common Pikachu card to a 10 year old kid for his Rare Holographic Charizard because I know that it’s wrong. Kids don’t know any better and old people don’t either.

@@steviefreakinc Keep doing it bro steve!
I’m a scumbag seller and I would offered $100 expecting a counter. Also you order cheap cords for any consoles to sell them. And why keep the games if you’re a seller just sell
resellers are allover gaming stuff like flies on crap. they all know what its worth.
Exactly dude
30 bucks. Bruhhhhh that seller got so ripped off. They should have gave him more. How ridiculous 🙄. I swear resellers
@@steviefreakinc that sux. Was probably mad good. That must have been a low key sad ass moment.

Yeah the classic “I better pretend like I don’t know what I’m doing so I can get this cheaper” lol
That Chrono Trigger uslly worth a pretty penny for a used game let alone that Zelda
Let's not forget, while he/she whatever it is is saying they didn't know anything about this game they also suddenly want to "keep it" fin'g idiot
She even said it was a good game lol
If I was there, I was so out bid her to make make her pay more
You can't blaming 100% on the reseller you have to blame part of it on the buyer because they are foolish to be paying the stupid prices but if the buyers will go on strike and say they're not going to pay those prices anymore they'll put the resellers out of business and it will stop that nonsense
Haha you always got me laughing.
Thanks for laughing Kurt!
it's vile.
I highly doubt she will keep those games for long. Why list the prices on the screen if you are planning to keep the games? I’m tired of scalpers, greedy resellers taking advantage of people.
They’re probably already gone by now
So you would have given full value for the games and consoles? I doubt that! She didn't take advantage of anybody.
@@blitzkrieg1174 I say in the video if I was a grimy reseller I would have paid $75.
Heckin , now whos the scammer.. $75? I would have given them $100. There is at least 3 times the value thare. Guess im more generous 😂
I was saying I’d offer $75 if I was a grimy reseller. So that would be a low ball for me. And she went way lower so that’s worse lol
@@steviefreakinc ah got it. Either way i was bustin your stones. Its funny she said she doesnt mind paying for games for the collection but did the exact opposite. Lol
@@steviefreakincso you’re mad that the seller said yes to her offer? That’s crazy, sounds like jealousy.

I had their cassette back in the day.
How is she gonna claim to be a “collector” and rock a Gameboy wallet and not know Chrono Trigger was on SNES?!
That’s what I’m saying
Chrono trigger I’ve sold for 250-300
The only real reason the snes wouldn't work is if the power port on the back is broken.
If she was a good person she would have given them $200 or more for that lot and still turned a good profit
Curious what these resellers will go for when nobody gives a shit about video games and things become dirt cheap again
Probably Funko pops or some other hobby that’s having a good time. That way they can ruin that shit too
There won't come a day when people stop giving a sh!t about video games though, let's be real. lol
I actually like your reaction. SUPER SINCERE! Gives me lots of respect

Sadly this happens a lot at garage sales. People say just give me an offer and be fair. And you cant help yourself and take advantage of good people, and lowball. She did exactly what you were saying steve'. She wanted the stuff she needed free. Thats why she offered $30. Its very obvious!!!
It’s a damn shame honestly.
I would never let that go for $30. Maybe I'll take $100-$200. A loose super Nintendo system is regularly $80, the gamecube is at $30 without controller and cables.
33
33?
I partially agree. If it was me I would have offered more. Probably $60-$100. To keep of course
Yeah it's quite lame of her. The whole situation
I'm keeping them for free while making money on top of it."
All I see are lies and excuses on top of excuses! I know she knows what Chrono Trigger is! Come on now!

Lowball Laura over here😂
