I am not sure if it would fit the specific Aztec themed setting, but I'd probably go for a celestial warlock whose patron is a couatl. They are criminally underused celestials in my opinion and would give nice opportunities to reflavor warlock spells/abilities.

The Radiant Citadel is such a neat locale. Not that I'm going to be running it per se, but these character ideas are really cool. Really dig the Crystal Dragonborn Aberrant Mind Sorcerer.

I love the idea of being an Undead Warlock who is based on day of the dead iconography. I think being a spirits bard or phantom rogue based on this would be amazing too. Maybe that's your party composition.

One idea I’ve had for a while is a group of four elements monks based off of the Chinese Four Animals. A red aarakocra specialising in fire, a blue dragonborn using water, a white tiger-like tabaxi using air and a black tortle that uses the earth diciplines, all trained by the same ki-rin. Whether as a whole party or played seperately across multiple games, I think this would be a great fit for Yongjing. The only problem is finding a reason for characters of these races to visit Yongjing. It’s a good thing the Citadel exists.

You should make one of these for ravenloft/Curse of Strahd, it's one of the most popular official adventures and a really unique setting compared to usual high fantasy dnd. My first time of playing CoS, our party hadn't made characters with the exact setting in mind and they felt really off.

Having been waiting for this book, when it was revealed for the last adventure setting is based on my homeland of Venezuela (I cried a lot). My GF and I thought of so many character concepts, mostly from the three Latinx based settings. She's got a Harengon, Folkhero, Way of Mercy Monk who is from Atagua as she trained to be part of the Green Doctors.
For me, I have got a ton that when a chance arises for me to play or be the DM, I at least have a wealth of them to use as possible NPCs or a character I will get the chance to run with.
For San Citlán I thought of a College of Spirits Bard, Reborn flavoured as the "Olvidados". A Luchador Path of Ancestral Guardian or Path of Zealot Barbarian, their rage powered by the passions of former champions or roaring crowds of the people.
For Tletepec (You did a really god job on pronouncing the names!) I have been in love with a Rune Knight, whether as a Genasi or Tiefling, serving as a Shaper of Obsidian of using the magics/powers of the Rune and Giants to help their people from disaster.
For Atagua it would be taking heavy inspiration from the monster of the Whistler, of a multiclass of College of Whispers Bard with Aberrant Mind Sorcerer, who is a Kalashtar that is bonded to the horrific nightmare terror that is this whistling monster.
I've got so many but these were the ones that I enjoy thinking of and sharing here.
    ♥♥♥

When I brainstorm character concepts for radiant citadel campaigns I always come back to Horizon Walker. There's about a thousand quest setups and plot hooks you and your DM can collaborate on when your character's subclass is built around giving you access to the one way to enter and leave the radiant citadel without using the concord jewels.
The citadel leaders are filibustering each other and all the concord jewels have been shut down. You're one of the half dozen or so people who knows where all the portals to other planes are and you need to go to the place and get the thing that will get all the politicians talking again.
The brass dragon citadel leader has hired you to find a route through any number of planar portals that leads to any of the lost 15 worlds. You may have to leap frog across two dozen different planes to get there, but the multiverse is full of portals. You will find a way.
Every planar metropolis has a Horizon Walker outpost/speak easy. You either run the one on the Citadel or you get paid on the side be the currier between Sigil, the Rock of Braal, Strixhaven, and the Radiant Citadel.
The Shield Bearers sent you on a rescue mission to one of the planes connected to the Citadel by the concord jewels. You rescued the hostage/package/bounty/baby Yoda/baby Hutt/etc... but the concord jewel was blocked off, or left early, or the locals holding baby Yoda hostage did something and now you're stranded on one of the planes. Luckily, you know the portal route that will eventually get you and your party back to the Citadel. Unfortunately one of the planes the portals along the way go through is undergoing civil war, and another area between two portals on another plane is full of undead. Now the rescue mission in escorting a floating egg through 3 different war zones.
There's so many Horizon Walker specific plot hooks you can do in the Radiant Citadel. All it takes is a little forethought and haggling with your DMs over the number of portals you know about before the campaign began.

There are a ton of awesome martial arts builds I'd love to try in these, whether an escrima fighter protecting the bakunawa or a caporeista rescuing folks from lava floes. I think I'd want to de-Shaolin-myth-ify the higher-level monk abilities, though.

I am about to play a Kobold a Horizon Walker Ranger / Battlesmith or Armor Artificer that is a Named Aloha (or Al for short) because you never know if he is coming or going. He is a seeker of Kurtulmak (or Kurt) the which is a mix of Acolyte/Urchin background. He is known for miss crediting any religious saying to Kurt the lost god or the god that was tricked into getting trapped or lost by GlitterGold. The straight man of a comedy duo he is fun to play. He is known for his malfunctioning bag of holding he made. The bag will hold up to the 500 pound and weighs nothing more but it grows in size as he fills it.

@@TheClericCorner I try to do that with all my characters. Also I like using gods and racial mythology with all my characters. I also like mixing it up. I have a Orc/Elf (half or stats) that is a redemption paladin of
Corellon Larethian and a Dwarf druid that became a chosen of Luthic (Orc goddess known as the mother bear) by carrying around a rune of home which is shared from dwarf giant and orc which is one of Luthic holy symbol options. In a game where you know cleric magic is real then way would you not look for help.

While I appreciate the effort, I think this video has way too many spoilers for the individual adventures for me to actually show to any of my players. In my case, I had to tailor each and every gazetteer (lore dump) in the book to be spoiler free for my own players so they would have a similar resource to draw upon. Even so, some of the RP heavy classses, such as clerics and warlocks, have little to go on.

I actually got two characters in the back-burner that might fit in with two of the adventures of the "Radiant Citadel"
For "Written In Blood", I have an idea for a character named Maravilla (Spanish word for "Marigold"), She's a Pact of the Chain (Psuedo-Dragon) Undying Warlock based on Tim Burton's "The Corpse Bride" whose father, whilst practicing his wedding vows, slipped his wedding ring on what he thought was a root of a branch but was in fact the finger of a now ressurected, hopelessly romantic lich named Sebastiana (As in Doña Bella Sebastiana ("Beautiful Lady Sebastienne"), one of the names of Santa Muerte). Not wanting to upset the lich, he promised her the hand of his daughter. Thus, a wreath of Marigold's grew from the sides of her head as a reminder of the pact.
For "Between Tangled Roots", I have an idea for a character named Long-Ma, He's a Draconic Bloodline Centaur Sorcerer who, due to one of his parents being a dragon, has the lower half of a dragon. And I can sorta see the Bakunawa either being Long-Ma's draconic parent or a distant relative of his & he joined the party in hopes of saving part of his family.

15:33 Also, this whole "Elixer of Life" reminds me of the Jade Rabbit of Chinese Mythos/Folklore, they're job is pretty much what you said but for the Chinese Goddess of the Moon, Chang'E.
And this gives me an idea for a Earth Genasi w/ Harengon Ancestry named Yù (Chinese word for "Jade), an Alchemist Artificer/Clockwork Soul Sorcerer who's actually the lead of a team of alchemists to brew the Elixer of Life.
