    I know this video is a couple of years old but had to comment. Just left the Kia dealership saying it will cost just under $500 to do this on our 2011. I’m not a certified mechanic but know my way around cars pretty good so after watching this video I feel pretty confident I can do this myself. Thank you for posting this!

    Best video on this. Love how you show the 3 holes for the airbag. Every other video I looked up didn’t explain that part well. Thanks for this!

    thanks bro, just followed your video and was able to 1. do the job 2. save 200-400 AUD in the process. just one thing: careful with those plastics, when you pulled the bottom part of the steering wheel base you also forced the dashboard plastic and created a gap there, you can see the gap in the video.

    Good news: I just received a letter from Kia that they will cover replacement of the clock spring on 2014/2015 Fortes under warranty up to 15 years after the vehicle was first sold, with no milage limit. if you have already paid to have your clock spring replaced, there is a form you can send in to Kia to receive reimbursement.

    This is a perfect tutorial. Thank you for everything. It was costing me WAY too much to get it replaced. My dealership wanted to charge me $160 for diagnostics (I already told them what the issue was) and an additional $360 to replace it. Imma do it myself now. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼💕

    • @roberts.1604
      @roberts.1604 4 роки тому

      Hey hopefully you figured it out by now, but I've heard if the light was on prior to replacement, you need to have the airbag light code reset if you have one of those scanners or at a dealer/garage. I'm not an expert or anything but if you got your horn back that's a good sign that you successfully replaced the clockspring and the light just needs reset.
