The agile offroad RIP makes a huge difference, we just took a trip 300 miles and drove on a typical gravel dirt road to camp for the night, it was night and day from the stock suspension, the biggest improvement from my perspective is the van feels planted on the road and it virtually eliminates the sway, it was windy while were were driving and normally the cross wind assist control would have been going off like crazy, didnt activate once which is a huge blessing since it makes u feel like your gonna wreck. The fox shocks and coils up front soak up the bumps and the van truly handles so much better!!!! Highly recommend it if your in the market!

hi Dan, what spec are those AO RIP kit for your 2wd 170? I just had 5400lbs leaf springs w/ 200 coil springs installed at a shop. Feels stiff and heavy from the hefty leaf springs. Did not improve my ride. It is mostly empty though, building it out now. thanks

I am not sure what the coil spring rate is, i also did the 5400lb springs, but that was done after the build out and a scale weight to make sure the spring rate was good and the front bilstein coils were matched by AO to pair with the rear springs. I can imagine empty or barely built it would definitely ride harsh, it will make a huge difference once its built out especially in the sway category

Thanks for sharing. Looks like a lot of work! I'm looking fwd to upgrading my 2021 Sprinter suspension to Agile Off-road too. How's the ride now? And, can you comment about your solar panel install setup? Looks like unistruts laterally holding the panels. How are the struts holding the panels? Thanks again... great progress.

Thank you, as suspension lifts go this one wasn’t too bad but yes alot of work in the driveway. It rides great now, stops the sway completely and absorbs the bumps really nicely. As to the roof, i used unistruts in the main roof channel and then unistrut cross bars to hold the panels the panels attach to the unistrut using some renogy z brackets bolted to unistrut nuts which work great! 10000 miles an no issues. Thanks again for the question

Any images or videos of what the van looks like with the new tires? What size wheels and tires did you go with? Whats ize wheel and tire can you fit? Sorry for all the questions :)

Nothing yet, I ended up moving to colorado from virginia so we left the old tires on it for the trip, we plan on putting on the same size as the spare which is a 265/75/16 they fit good with the lift and we are sticking with the stock mercedes steel rims, thats the biggest tire we can fit on the van without fender trimming. If you have the rip kit on a 4x4 or awd sprinter i think it can take a 285

@@ramblingambition I drove to Colorado from NJ 13 years ago with just my snowboard, a bag of clothes and my car. I never went back lol. Still love it.
How close to the stock Mercedes 4x4 does the kit get you? I don't love how tucked in my sprinter 1500 wheel base is. Im looking for something more aggressive.

@JohnDrach thats awesome, I had planned to move out to colorado in the early 90’s after college and well it took me 30 years to make but I love it out here, the folks from agile told me the rip kit and i got the 5400lb rear springs, would bring the van up to stock 4x4 height and It has even loaded

I have the same 2WD van. I installed new struts but was still pounding the sumo bump stops when hitting potholes at high speeds. I'm considering doing the coilovers as well in hopes of solving that issue. How do you find it's changed the ride in the front?

The coils make all the difference, it dampens everything out so the front end is nice and smooth, worth the extra for them, I may even at some point add agiles aux fox shock to the front to dampen the bumps out even more!
