That’s the technique for getting unintended bits of green reflection out of the green screen effect, or filtering it so it looks like a natural reflection. It’s the same thing they do in the movies, but live. Once they set it up for this shot, it stays the same unless lighting changes, in which case the spill would need to be tuned again.

I was going to be an English teacher in Japan but decided that if I was going to do that I'd have to wait until I've finished my transition bc their society is very gendered, and they hold very strict ideas of what men and women look, act and sound like. If I were to go when I did I wouldn't be able to transition and I'd only be able to be myself in my own apartment, lest I'm seen by my students around town who tell their parents who then complain to the school staff. So I'd rather wait until I can legally step into my own skin before even considering something like that.

I actually appreciate the fact that Hasan acknowledges that as a tourist you can't see the problems in Japan. He could have easily just be in full fanboy mode, but he did a great job at offering an objective viewpoint. As he said, the train system works pretty well - however, despite the stereotypes trains are late regularly (less than in Europe, granted), especially during rush hours . Living in Japan is actually quite pleasant, but obviously the work culture can be pretty brutal. I'm lucky because I can speak and read Japanese, however I can imagine how hard it must be for people without at least business level Japanese to assimilate.

I was going to be an English teacher in Japan but decided that if I was going to do that I'd have to wait until I've finished my transition bc their society is very gendered, and they hold very strict ideas of what men and women look, act and sound like.
If I were to go when I did I wouldn't be able to transition and I'd only be able to be myself in my own apartment, lest I'm seen by my students around town who tell their parents who then complain to the school staff.
So I'd rather wait until I can legally step into my own skin before even considering something like that.
Ethan did such a good job listening! Felt more balanced and like Ethan was actually listening and not just looking for a moment to make a joke. Love Ethan's silliness but I feel like sometimes it wouldn't match Hasan's vibe when he was trying to talk about something serious.

The reason they can have raw chicken sashimi in Japan is because salmonella only really exists in the US. Our poultry farming practices are so grotesque here it’s no wonder. Chicken and eggs are pretty safe in other countries.

I actually appreciate the fact that Hasan acknowledges that as a tourist you can't see the problems in Japan. He could have easily just be in full fanboy mode, but he did a great job at offering an objective viewpoint. As he said, the train system works pretty well - however, despite the stereotypes trains are late regularly (less than in Europe, granted), especially during rush hours .
Living in Japan is actually quite pleasant, but obviously the work culture can be pretty brutal. I'm lucky because I can speak and read Japanese, however I can imagine how hard it must be for people without at least business level Japanese to assimilate.
I only watch this like once a month and I love seeing the studio get bigger every time lol

The age of consent is always exaggerated. 13 is the federal minimum that can be set. The actual minimum age of consent is 16, and almost all prefectures have it set at 18. There are plenty more pressing issues in Japan lol

I grew up near harpers ferry and had several field trips there. It's funny to me that Ethan has never heard of him, since I learned everything about him and his raid on harpers ferry multiple times as a child. It makes perfect sense. Just interesting to think about the knowledge we might take for granted or assume to be common that isn't.
