Garrity may have been a chancer and a scammer, but I liked the affection he gave towards his dog. He also refused to take money from a woman who was petrified of her deceased father in law returning, showing that he has SOME morals.
@@ExplorerDS6789 I recommend. Strong moral undertones, an examination of mass hypocrisy, and a metaphysical bent, with the big twist at the end!! Good cast, too.
It was neat to see a number of Actors who'd appeared in previous TZ instalments pop here, with Stanley Adams playing two roles, Jensen and his ressurected brother.
i love this one, since most people would be "bring back my loved ones" not "Oh hell no, they sucked...I'll pay you to bugger off" and the twist at the end, was delicious
For some reason, your comment made me think of "the power to read minds". I've told people before that you wouldn't really want that power. You'd be able to hear your family and friends negative criticism of you in their heads. You don't always want to know what your parents and your siblings and your spouse and even your children are thinking of you in their heads, lol. They could be mocking you or cursing your name at various points while interacting with you, lol. For example, someone might be saying "boy, he's a cheapskate" in their minds, haha.
I loved the early part of the episode where Garrity vocally revealed his talent, and the bartender dropped his glass in shock, then the camera does a close up of Garrity's face. The look on Garrity's face was awesome. It was a look of confidence and maybe a drop of arrogance.
I only found out that the Mr Garrity and the Graves episode existed like 12 years ago. I think it's one of the 10 or 12 most underrated Twilight Zone episodes. Channel Awesome should make a Top 13 underrated episodes list when this is all over. Could this episode have atleast been a partial inspiration for Zombie films with everyone rising up out of the graves at the end and coming back to life? Man, I loved this episode.
I loved the twist ending in this episode! And the fact that everyone in town had something to hide. The only thing I don't understand is how did Garrity's partner, who was disguised as the bartender's brother, was able to disappear into thin air after Garrity was paid to put him back?
I guess I'm in the minority. But I believe charlatans are not as bad as the people who fell for them. If you trust a complete stranger and give them your money: you deserve it.
I noticed that the cemetery is named “Boot Hill”. That’s the _same name_ of the cemetery right next to _Phantom Manor,_ the Disneyland Paris counterpart of _The Haunted Mansion._ I don’t know if the Imagineers named their cemetery Boot Hill as an homage to this episode, but it’s a cool coincidence or Easter egg regardless. 🙂
A very solid and deeply entertaining beginning to the show's final five instalments, thought from what I've heard, it's not exactly an indicator of what's to come.
One of my favorite episodes! I do agree about the disappearing part. One little line could have sufficed. I think of the townspeople as believable in that they are neither all good or bad. .
Reminds me of a Kirk Douglas tv movie called Draw about a legendary lawman hired to rid a town of an infamous gunslinger. Similar ending minus the supernatural element.
I got a kick out of the ghosts coming out of the grave at the end. It reminds me of the Haunted Mansion at Disney or Michael Jackson's "Thriller."😎 Four episodes left. I'm pouting. 😶
The ending kinda ruins it for me... If it was like the video suggested the con man getting his comeupence it would be perfect. The idea that the dead coming back and some of them being bad to "take revenge" is not a good ending.

A great episode with a very surprising supernatural twist ending that you don't see very often.
Agreed, though it scared me when I was a child. It reminded me a little of "The Last Rites of Jeff Myrtlebank", since both deal with resurrection.
In this story, everybody is a deceptive scumbag, nobody's innocent, and I LOVE it, ❤😂
Kinda reminds me of Clint Eastwood's High Plains Drifter. A lot of bad people in that town, even though they pretended to be good.
@@brandoncameron2686 good movie. Took me a bit to realize he is a ghostly spirit!
So, it's like a western film noir? Brilliant.

I like the fact this episode changed up the consequences, as the main characters are not affected by what happens because they leave
I agree, I liked the twist that Garrity really COULD bring back the dead, but not even he realised it.
It would've been an extra funny end of he saw them rise from the grave, then shrug and ride off like, "Not my problem"
@@AresAlpha Either that, or give a cheeky wave and saying something like "Have fun, folks!" before riding off.
Not only one of the best of Season 5 but one of TZ's best westerns!
I totally agree ❤

I remember loving this episode the first time I saw it.

This has been an amazing month! Thanks For this ❤
Everything works for me in this episode. One of the best in the entire series.
The Good, The Bad and The Undead .
Nice.

The scene of the dead people walking towards the town reminds me of Night Of The Living Dead
Maybe Night Gallery can get done next year
Or the 80's TZ.
I'm hoping for TALES FROM THE DARKSIDE! They filmed enough episodes to last at least 4 Octobers!😂
@@JoseMorales-lw5nt 94 episodes, so 3.

Am I the only one to notice that the resurrected people are walking AWAY from the town and not TOWARD the town?

01:08 - I personally find that reaction to Garrity’s claim “I bring back the dead” hilariously appropriate.
Cavender isn't coming this time.
At least Rod Serling feels the same way about charlatans that a lot of people do.

@@samus88 Manipulations are still manipulations though. So calling them out as such is still justified.

Boot Hill was a cemetery in Tombstone, Arizona. It's also a common term for a lot of makeshift gravesites in the Old West.
This must have been a 😎 Gravely Funny episode
Been waiting for this one for a bit. Definitely one of my personal favorites
Well, Happiness is doomed.
Awesome The Twilight Zone episode!
This is it! We're into the final five now!
I found it interesting that he kept charging everyone $500. Wouldn't that be like the cost of a house or something in the old west?
I wonder how is it that that townspeople had a lot of money to pay off Garrity?

Dead at High Noon.

And now we are even closer to 'The Bewitchin' Pool' 😮💨
You a... taking lead from Fever Dreamland Theater er what?? Dude literally just did this episode as well.
This was a fun one.
~_~
I agree that this would make for a good series in and of itself
“I can bring back the dead,” he said while smoking a big fat cigar.

I know John Dehner as the charismatic snake oil salesman Colonel Harvey from the Andy Griffith Show! "Good for what ails you!"
I found this one of the few TZ Episode really really funny
And I'll add: theres a similar tale in "night gallery" called "professor stringfellows rejuvinator", I think, but much darker. ❤
Not the first TZ episode to be set in the Wild West but the twist makes it more supernatural which I don’t see very often
Love that everyone's such a scumbag in this episode! The twist is great too!!

Just needed Michael Jackson to come on at the end and have them all dance to Thriller.
First in the twilight zone
Oh gawd, why that thumbnail?
The ending kinda ruins it for me...

Eh, those townsfolk will be fine. It's the Old West, they have guns.

Acting like this is carny nowadays. You gotta be real serious. These seem like real people acting instead of acting people being real.
