Another additional note: The man that was the frontman for the press and had close relations with Natalee's family in the dutch investigation was named Peter R. De Vries. He got killed earlier this year by being shot in the back of his head while walking through the streets of Amsterdam because of another investigation he was a part of into a big crime ring. Peter R. De Vries got Joran's confession on tape due to an undercover agent. Sadly the tape wasn't admissible. Peter R. De Vries never stopped fighting for justice even though he knew about the danger he brought himself in. Most Dutch people know about him, he's a household figure. Just wanted to share his name so we don't forget that even though there are bad people in this world there are also many great people like Peter.
I still can’t believe he’s gone.. he was one of those guys who wasn’t afraid of anything and i just never thought this would actually happen to him. It’s very sad, he was a hero to so many. Rust in vrede Peter❤️
It’s definitely Girl Code not to let your friend go off with strangers……Especially if she’s been drinking. I’d rather she be mad at me for blocking rather than doing nothing and seeing her get hurt.
It was definitely a set up they charged one guy but he had two accomplices with him that weren't charged plus one wasn't even a us citizen Aruba officials would not cooperate with the mother of Natalie either her mom put up 1 million dollars to investigate how her daughter went missing but she was banned from Aruba definitely a setup
Agreed! I NEVER let my friends out of my sight when we were young (I was always the DD) We came together-we gonna leave together! Periodttt. My friends hated that back then but now...they appreciate that I was that way for them 💜
Her mother is a rockstar, she pushed thru and started an organization any of us can use to travel more safely in foreign countries. That's incredible. She has a heart of gold.
Missing people in Aruba is extremely rare, and its a country that only depends on tourism. This is why the island placed so much effort in finding her, both because it was extremely uncommon and it will affect the "one happy island," tourism motto we have.
Also, I’ve been to the island 5 times & I’ve always felt very safe. Arubans are so kind- like the afternoons I got lost when I got off the bus & couldn’t figure out how to get back to my AirBnB. A mom & daughter came by & asked if I was lost & gave me directions back to my AirBnB. There was only one AirBnB in that area at the time. They knew the white girl tourist had to be staying at this one place. Then I said “My friends son goes to this preschool” (where I got off the bus) and the Mom knew my friend & her son! That’s the Aruba I know & love!
@@cheri618 I was a student in “middle school” in Aruba that’s ages 6 to 12 and they closed the school so we can help search for her. Children searching for a potential dead body. It honestly makes me feel so awful when I people say we did nothing, while at 12 years old, I was helping out looking for potentially a dead body.
One time in high school, two of my cousins were hanging out at my house with me while our parents went to my aunt's house right down the road. We were outside and a car came around and one of my cousins started talking to the guys in the car. My other cousin and I hadn't met them before and they were acting like players. Before we knew it, our other cousin had hopped in the car with them and took off! I immediately called my aunt's house to tell her mom and she was getting worried because I didn't know names or anything, but then she turned up down there. Turns out she did know them from school and asked them for a ride down the road but didn't clearly communicate that to me or our other cousin. But for a few minutes there we were pretty scared, anything could have happened.
I was thinking the same thing! I know she’s grown but I’m 24 and my friends would rather me being a dude to our hotel than me to dip off with some unknown man
Honestly, you need to at least make an attempt, if someone had even come and intervened it really might have gone differently if people knew she'd be getting looked for the next day and that people had seen their faces, even if they couldn't convince her to not go.
Unfortunately unless you’re wealthy, attractive, or young, you can go missing and nobody will really say a word about it. You certainly won’t get national or international coverage. It’s sad that society inherently places different values on people’s lives.
🙄 ppl always jump to the OnLy iF yOuRe wHiTe AnD aTtRaCTiVe trope but in reality, Aruba is a tourist island. a tourist going missing, especially tourist from MONEY, it is bad for business. they have to solve the mystery or tourism, the island's main income, would take a nose dive
They never found her body because she was probably off that island before anyone even knew that she was missing. Human traffickers probably had a boat waiting and the 3 boys lured her to the beach under the pretense of “going to see some sharks.” A young, beautiful, naive, and intoxicated tourist is a prime target for traffickers. So sad. PLEASE be careful while on vacation in foreign countries. Never let your guard down and trust no one.
Can you just imagine the stress and anxiety of those teachers/chaperones that day realizing one student was missing? On your watch, a teenage girl was missing in a foreign country and now you have to call her parents, your superiors and the local police...
As a teacher (to kindergarten though, not seniors) that just made my stomach roll.. I can't imagine the sheer panic and dread anyone involved has felt ..
honestly anybody who has responsibility over kids that arent their own would be terrified, just thinking about if any kid i have ever had responsibility for got kidnapped or anything like that makes me nauseous. i can understand even better why the teachers got so upset when me and my friend went sneaking down sketchy back alleyways in fiji when we were 16 to find drinks 😅
@@femalevoice_ I agree 100%, but you can't possibly fully blame the adults here, it was a bundle of shortcomings from so many people -not just the teachers- and a terrible series of unfortunate events that led to this tragedy. Add to that the (sometimes) uncontrollable drive of a bunch of teenagers to "break the rules". It's just a tragedy honestly. The idea of doing your job as a teacher all year long for years on end, then having this chance to lay back and relax on a vacation, only to make one mistake that costs the life of one of the kids you're responsible for .. it's just so daunting.
Binge watching Bailey and took a tik tok break just to learn this case was actually solved. Jordan finally admitted that he killed Natalee and threw her body in the ocean all because she turned him down. So heartbreaking, but at least her family finally got true closure after all this time.
@@dans9596yes as a person who lives where she went to highschool at, it was really peaceful seeing this happen my aunt told me about this case a few years ago because i was born around when it happened so i didn’t know about
Seeing this resolved is what brought me back here to rewatch! It's sad but at least the family have answers and a bit of closure at least. It's just sad there's no body to have a funeral with
The most confusing thing to me is why a high school would bring a bunch of teenagers to Aruba to party in the first place. That's such a wild concept to wrap my head around these days
Taking high schoolers on trips, even abroad, isn't new but the lack of supervision I think reflects on the tax bracket these kids were in. They probably were very use to having long leashes and were considered "responsible" enough to drink and party and socialize independently. Which led to grave consequences in this case.
Some parents don’t let their kids go to prom because of how wild the kids can get- I suppose this is nothing new. Natalie was set up- these traffickers probably were prepared down to there every move to shop for blonde American white girls. Apparently they catch a higher price in human trafficking than most other demographics
Someone I know had the exact same kind of trip way more recently, and even then I didn't understand why schools or school organizations do the party trips either. She managed to get her stuff stolen from her after leaving it unattended on a beach, due to being way too naive. Luckily nothing worse than that happened.
I went on trip my junior yr ( 1998/1999) to Spain with about 10 kids in total with my art teacher and her friend. It’s still blows my mind how little supervision we had. We would be out all night at clubs/clubs during the night and had tons of free time during the day in Majorca, Barcelona and Madrid.
The crime reporters name was Peter R. De Vries. He was recently assasinated here in the Netherlands and sadly passed away. He helped so many people and truly deserves to be remembered as just that: someone who did whatever he could to get justice
I was living at Aruba at the time. The whole island was turned inside out for Natalie. Aruba is still a very safe island and I never heard of anyone missing besides Natalie. Regardless please take care of your friends and be careful.
Wait his father died? Also, since you lived there what was the general consensus on what may hav e happened? This is like that little girl that disappeared in Argentina? I think?
One of the most frustrating things about this case is that I don’t think Natalie’s parents will ever truly know what happened to their daughter and I think that brings Joran some sort of sick pleasure.
It wasn't Jorah, she got sold of into trafficking, its a thing that happens a lot on the Caribbean and latinoamerica, he is guilty of leaving her alone on the beach, everything else is made for media frenzy and to get money
@@natalierathbone4349 oh i am not saying he is an innocent fly, he did all of that for money, every single arrest got him interviews, a book and who knows maybe he was the one who sold her off, but since there's absolutely no evidence he knew he was gonna walk, how else could he leave the country and support a life in 2 differents continents, we could even speculate he kept bribing the police as a way to not expose a prostitution ring that involves higher officials, the back and forth announcements, the vague statements of police, I've seen it time and time again in latinoamerica, it's sad, and a horrible truth, please ALWAYS beware when you're vacationing on any Caribbean area, it just takes a minute to slip something on your drink and you're gone forever
What i find sad, is that "moneypower structure" of both families... Joran's family had a status in Aruba, aswell as Natalee's family in the states. I think ego didn't help in the search of the truth.
As a woman who lives in the Caribbean the first thing I thought was that they trafficked her, she's a foreigner who's beautiful young and intoxicated... which makes her a easy target😕. I've heard stories of men kidnapping girls and smuggling them to other Caribbean countries by boats. This case breaks my heart, stay safe ladies
Never let your friends go off by themselves. Always stick together as a group. How sad and heartbreaking that family went though trying to look for her. I hope they fine out what happen to her one day.

This happened the same year that my graduating class went to Cancun, Mexico with USA Student Travels. One of the options for our trip was the trip she went on. Aruba for 4 nights 5 days, or Cancun for 7 nights, 8 days. She disappeared at the same time we were in Mexico and I remember all of the people that went with us got phone calls from their parents, telling us to make sure we stuck together and kept an eye on each other because they were still searching for sweet Natalie. I remember praying so hard for her and her family. I’ll never forget that! ❤️❤️
Could you imagine being the parents of Natalie and hearing all these horrible made up things about your daughter and also listening to all these "fake confessions" over and over again. This is truly heart breaking.
That is heartbreaking and traumatic. I have to say her parents did everything in their power to find their daughter and hopefully that gives them a bit of solace. Nothing else they could do.
Not to mention the backlash that she is getting just for her looks and race? Its really disgusting that horrible things happened to this girl and people want to complain and make it about things that don't matter :( Imagine going through that trauma, then having race politics brought into it
@@mythicalnote1757 sits trueky horrible that happened to her. However as a society we must still acknowledge that people of color aren’t given big headline news coverage for going missing. No one was bashing Natalee just the media.
Human trafficking scares me to the core, one second you’re a free human being living your life and one second later you’re owned by someone and no one knows about you and you’re lost forever.
I'd hate to be those friends, it sounds like they saw her getting into the car, I can't imagine they really had any chance to stop her but I imagine they've carried a lot of guilt. Heart breaking.
Always stick to your group. I went to NYC in 2005 on a field trip, walked 15 ft from my group to a street vendor, and turned around to find I was surrounded by 6 men. One of my chaperones noticed and came over and got me. It can literally be any of us. I was 15.
i'm Dutch and I remember seeing the tapes of Joran's confession... I couldn’t imagine allowing my friend to leave with random men in another country. I also couldn’t imagine waiting until the next morning to look for her and ensure she was ok.
Here's to Joran spending 20 years in an Alabama prison just in time for Natalee's birthday 🥂 RIP to Natalee and I hope her mother gets some semblance of peace.
Agreed, I heard about the recent news. I wanted to rewatch the video to get all the details again. It’s a relief that he’s been caught, but the whole case is still sad.
As someone from the Netherlands, this story will never not keep me interested. I 100% believe Joran did it. To add an even more saddening ending: the reporter who did the tell-all was sadly assassinated this summer. He was one of the biggest reporters on Dutch television and had his own show for over 20 years.
I understand everyone was 18 on this trip but the adults did not do their job imo. At 30 I would never just let 18 year old girls go off drinking alone. We have a responsibility as older women to watch out for younger girls.
They were extremely irresponsible in a foreign land. The girls had to remain close, no one was supposed to leave with any stranger, especially in Aruba, we've heard back then already about Aruba and trafficking.
Yes! I was also thinking this same thing about her friends as well. I just find it odd that they watched her leave in the silver Honda with three guys they don’t know, and they just let her? I would never let a friend, or a distant classmate that I know by association leave like that when she’s clearly intoxicated. She was failed by a lot of people :/
yeah I would sue the school. adult chaperons but nobody chaperoned!! 🤷♀️ talking is fine but when you leave the premise into some strangers car. guess nobody thought stranger danger
Ma'am! Did you really just try to sneak in "it's my birthday" at the very end as if it's no big deal?! HAPPY FREAKIN BIRTHDAY to the Princess of Darkness! We love you and you deserve all the greatest birthday wishes in the world!
So Natalie friends saw her leave with 3 male strangers and none of her "friends" made a interceptio? Smh. (Girl code 1 on 1) we came together, we leave together💯
I believe this story is what stirred up the girl code culture. I don’t think women looked out for each other quite the same before this. I could be wrong but, even movies from the 70’s insinuate girls would let their friends run off with a hot stranger to get laid.
@@m.haynes In college in the Nineties we were all worried about roofies - "never let your drink out of your sight" and all that - and everyone I knew went out in groups and always checked in with their friends at parties. However old it makes me feel, this mentality is not new! LOL
I once tried to go home with 3 irish football players (soccer players? As an american idk which I'm supposed to say lol) and my girls wouldn't let me and I remember dramatically being like "but they have accents! Plz!" 🤦 it was humiliating and annoying and yet they didn't give up, and I didn't go. Not saying something bad totally would've happened, but you really never know..
THANK YOUUUUUUUUU!!! Even in my wildest party days, the rule was 'we come together, we leave together' ... That is the one thing I will NEVER understand in this case. No real friend would let any of their friends get into a car with 3 men , much less in a foreign country. With friends like that , who needs enemies?!
I feel like when most people do game sponsorships they’re like “it’s super fun, I’m on level 30” or something that doesn’t take much time to get to. But Bailey’s over here like “yea so uh I’m on level 822” and I think it’s hilarious
I was OBSESSED with this in college. Joran’s father was an extremely powerful magistrate in Aruba and it is well known that he was involved in helping Joran cover this up. Just another slimy justice system. Unfortunately he’s dead now so we can’t ask him about it.
at first I was like "oh this is a gabby petito type case". then the further and further on this story went, the more I was confused even tho I understood what was going on. everything seems like a mass misinformation issue, with a lot of suspicious activity from everyone involved

She was definitely thrown into the ocean via boat or something in my opinion. I don’t think tracking water currents would help in this situation because they could’ve driven the boat to any location, made sure her body would sink and threw her overboard. Such a sad story and I really feel for the family for not being able to get answers.
So sad that Natalee’s family doesn’t know what happened to their daughter. Then to have a suspect who keeps toying with the victim’s family is completely sick. I pray that this family finds peace.
I just hope her soul isnt being tormented. I hope that if she is still here, she is ok somehow, and if she has passed, she can at least rest. Such a tragedy
I was 18 when this all happened and had just gotten back from a cruise in the Bahamas with my high school choir. On the ship, I remember that my roommates and I had agreed to never go anywhere alone just to be on the safe side. When Natalie disappeared, I think it freaked all of us out.
Growing up in Alabama, this was a HUGE thing. I grew up less than 20 minutes from where Natalie lived and was about 11 years old when Natalie disappeared. Parents / local high schools are still scared to let seniors go on senior trips. Senior trips are pretty much non existent now in (atleast in mine / Natalie’s area) Alabama. Which I mean I get. It’s just interesting how big of a impact this has had on the community even years later.
It’s interesting to see the perspective of this case from someone outside our state. Definitely a different take than the one we saw locally. The drinking and the fact that she was allowed to go alone with 3 guys, just wow. Also her mom was talked about like such a hero around here (not negating what she has done) but yes she did kind of attack a place that literally shut down to help her find her daughter 😬
I grew up in Springfield, Mo where a disappearance after graduation night from a home struck fear in town. The Springfield Three mystery is still on many noggin's.
Bailey, will you look into the disappearance of my best friend's cousin Alexis Camry Scott and talk about it? I think it would highlight so many issues that are HUGE today. It's dark, but it's so important. She's still missing, so it's "ongoing" (they say), but we're trying to prevent it from going cold.
You definitely cannot blame the mother for accusing those flaming sacks of garbage at the press conference. Any mother would have done that. Any blind person can see those guys were involved.
I think all three did, with the way theyre trying to pin it on each other. I think they told the dad. It sounds like a gang r- unfortunately, then they dumped her in the sea.

I’ve noticed a lot of tourist areas also go above an beyond for Americans or anybody who isn’t from there because it makes them look bad for business basically.
It's nice that so many people helped look for Natalie but it's also a sad commentary about the grip the tourist industry has on places like Aruba. In similar tourist destinations, I doubt even a small fraction of the search effort would be given if a local suddenly went missing.
I left the bar with a guy in my early 20s around this time and my amazing friend checked his driver's license, got all the info from it, his phone number and license plate number. It made me feel really loved. Almost 20 years later and she's still one of my friends.
I think that the whole Dr. Phil thing is disgusting and very disrespectful towards Natalie. Making false claims towards a missing person (while not there to defend themselves) is just wrong, especially in an episode where her mother is supposedly being interviewed.
I know it's frustrating but without her body to reveal the truth, there's no way the law can convict him. But at least there's some consolation at least he's in prison for the next 30 years in South America from what I heard the last time he got sick and he got beat up like an animal.
Yeah it’s unfortunately SO much harder to sentence someone without a body because it has to be proven beyond reasonable doubt he did it and without a body that’s really hard
I've only heard one case not say that and I've been watching true crime for like 20yrs, like since I was 9 or 10! It was a long time ago but they were just like "they had some struggles and were going through stuff but they were trying to turn their lives around" every single other case is always "their smile lit the whole room"
I’ve always felt like people express themselves this way about people that are no longer here. Maybe the fact that they’re gone makes the memories of them that much more beautiful. Sort of “you don’t know what you have till it’s gone”.
I love when Bailey does stories that “everyone” knows cuz girl let me tell you! I’m Portuguese so trust me I do not know these stories! I love all of your episodes and stories but these ones always make me extra interested!
Same here I am from latin America but live in Germany so never heard many of these stories before! I was just last week in Portugal and it's such beautiful and warm welcoming country! ❤
I can tell you who dropped the ball here. Never let your friends go off with three strange men in a different country, especially when they're intoxicated. Natalee's friends failed her.
Especially in Aruba, where human trafficking is very high, if she was kidnapped she could’ve been across the world by the time they realized she wasn’t in her room. May her soul rest peacefully wherever she lays. What happened to her was very sad and I pray for her family.
I remember being 9 and seeing her story everywhere. While it's a tragedy I feel like it really set in what could happen if you're not safe while traveling. Everytime I go somewhere, I honestly think of her as a reminder.
At this point Joran is going to be almost an elder when he's finally free, so he might as well tell the actual truth. Absolutely disgusting, at least he's locked up

Interesting fact about the Dutch crime reporter. He was actually THE Dutch crime reporter. He solved many cases others couldn't, like the Heineken case, and always was a great confidant for victims & families. Many think he's better than police, which it probably why he was executed earlier in 2021 in broad daylight. He always denied protection because he'd have to adhere to all kinds of rules and "on bended knees is no way to live", and unfortunately they got to him. It seems to be all related to one crime-ring being under investigation & prosecution, but innocent until proven guilty.

Thanks to all of you. It's been a difficult, uphill climb, but I just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Trying to hold onto the special things we shared and, hopefully, continue to follow the things we dreamt about together. I truly lost half of myself the day he passed. Learning to continue on, slowly realizing that he's never going to be by my side again, has been difficult, but I also have to be a mom to my son who is trying so hard to step up and be the 'man of the house,' because he wants to protect me, obviously. But I also think, deep down he's terrified that he could lose me in the blink of an eye, he had never experienced the loss of a loved one before this. Sometimes I break down alone in my car or if certain things trigger emotional memories, but I just try to keep building the life he and I planned, even if he isn't physically beside me. Sorry, I'm rambling. Thank you for you kind words, everyone. It means more than you know.

I totally agree - I’d never let my friends go off like that! BUT they were young & were drinking & this was probably their first taste of freedom. They weren’t thinking straight. Hindsight is 20/20 but it doesn’t help change the past, unfortunately! I’m SURE they regret that decision!

In my personal opinion, based on Natalee’s body never being found and the constant dead ends when it comes to suspects or clues… I personally believe she was either kidnapped or sold into s*x slavery. She was a young girl that was beautiful, left either alone or with three young guys, separated from her friends, intoxicated, potentially on a beach, and was never found again. Joran’s story about trading her into slavery for money makes the most sense to me since her body was never found on the island or in the water and they spent over 2 months searching for her. Unfortunately with Natalee’s case, the media will never really know what happened to her, nor will her parents. That fact alone breaks my heart.
The dutch investigator is Peter R de Vries and he wasn’t interested in the views. He is our hero, and solved so many crimes and got people into jail and even OUT of jail who were innocent. A clue, they said she wanted to see sharks. So sharks feed at night, they could have took her where sharks fed the most and dumped her in the water. No trace of remains if sharks ate her.
In aruba it's not like there are sharks at bay , there are some like small sand sharks at where they supposedly were but not to the extent of the story the way it was told , in order for the shark theory to be true it would have been to take a boat and went out far ( that would have been also with a perdon that knows the water and knows where sharks are )

Yes! I wanted to write this, but couldn't find the words. he was so important!
Thank you for sharing. I'm going to look into it more now.
Peter R de Vries is the reason i got into true crime in the first place, still heartbroken about his death
Yes, I wanted to add this as well! Rest in Peace, Peter and Natalee.

It’s definitely Girl Code not to let your friend go off with strangers……Especially if she’s been drinking. I’d rather she be mad at me for blocking rather than doing nothing and seeing her get hurt.

Missing people in Aruba is extremely rare, and its a country that only depends on tourism. This is why the island placed so much effort in finding her, both because it was extremely uncommon and it will affect the "one happy island," tourism motto we have.
Bon Dia Dushi!! I love Aruba & hope to get back to the island soon!!!
oh wow. that must’ve been scary for people there at the time.
Right, I plan to never visit that island. There are safer places out there
Not to blame the friends at all but please don't ever let your friends go off with guys you've never met before
One time in high school, two of my cousins were hanging out at my house with me while our parents went to my aunt's house right down the road.
So true! Stick with your friends, especially when you’re out in an unknown place.
Exactly
I wish every missing person case would get this much attention and effort
Oh shut up
Unfortunately unless you’re wealthy, attractive, or young, you can go missing and nobody will really say a word about it. You certainly won’t get national or international coverage. It’s sad that society inherently places different values on people’s lives.
If private monet is involved, it would. Unfortunately we all don't come from that and people were on a treasure hunt.
She had very wealthy parents who were very, very involved in the investigation.
I can't imagine the sheer panic and dread anyone involved has felt ..
honestly anybody who has responsibility over kids that arent their own would be terrified, just thinking about if any kid i have ever had responsibility for got kidnapped or anything like that makes me nauseous. i can understand even better why the teachers got so upset when me and my friend went sneaking down sketchy back alleyways in fiji when we were 16 to find drinks 😅
well they should have done their job as adults. maybe now they will know better and be careful.

Her school went to aruba.. Mine went to france and germany. Does schools now still do that tho.

I understand everyone was 18 on this trip but the adults did not do their job imo. At 30 I would never just let 18 year old girls go off drinking alone. We have a responsibility as older women to watch out for younger girls.
Yeah
That's what I'm thinking. You don't have to 'parent' someone to help them make better choices. Especially if they're intoxicated.
You definitely cannot blame the mother for accusing those flaming sacks of garbage at the press conference. Any mother would have done that. Any blind person can see those guys were involved.
Turned out the guy did it
Joran is guilty AF. I remember when this happened. He’s disgusting and I think his friends helped him.
Agreed
Yea I don’t believe something else
I think all three did, with the way theyre trying to pin it on each other. I think they told the dad. It sounds like a gang r- unfortunately, then they dumped her in the sea.
Ryan from Buzzfeed Unsolved: There isn't some sort of "true crime extended universe" where all these different stories are somehow related
Bailey: So Natalee's mom started dating Jonbenet Ramsay's father
Ugh, I was waiting SO PATIENTLY for her to bring up their relationship. Lol
I LOVE Buzzfeed.
I’ve noticed a lot of tourist areas also go above an beyond for Americans or anybody who isn’t from there because it makes them look bad for business basically.
I know how that goes I'm from Las Vegas.✌😸
I do the same!!
Am I correct in assuming tourism is the main income for Aruba?
It's nice that so many people helped look for Natalie but it's also a sad commentary about the grip the tourist industry has on places like Aruba. In similar tourist destinations, I doubt even a small fraction of the search effort would be given if a local suddenly went missing.
When I travel people are waaaaay nicer to me when they find out I'm Canadian and not American hahaha
I left the bar with a guy in my early 20s around this time and my amazing friend checked his driver's license, got all the info from it, his phone number and license plate number. It made me feel really loved. Almost 20 years later and she's still one of my friends.
“I’m giving you the meat of it, not the meat and potatoes.”
So it’s the keto edition, got it. Man, I’m gonna miss those potatoes.
LOL
😂😂😂😂😂this comment just made my night! Bunch of creative and funny subscribers on this channel
This should've dropped when the video did... Absolute gold
😆😆😆😆
I WANT THE CARBS ! Give me the carbs !!!!
I think that the whole Dr. Phil thing is disgusting and very disrespectful towards Natalie. Making false claims towards a missing person (while not there to defend themselves) is just wrong, especially in an episode where her mother is supposedly being interviewed.
Amen!! I’m 100% okay with never watching Dr. Phil again after that!
Yeah I never liked him. He is not respectful.
The fact that this fool confessed and was seen last with her but never actually goes to jail for this ?!? Is mind boggling
Go watch the 3 deaths of marisol escobedo. Similar but more intense
Natalie’s case has been solved now. She wasn’t the only one he killed and he definitely isn’t serving enough time
@bailey should do an episode about the other girl he killed
@@kolbywood7740agreed!
It’s true, everyone in true crime is always labeled as “they lit up the room”.
I've only heard one case not say that and I've been watching true crime for like 20yrs, like since I was 9 or 10! It was a long time ago but they were just like "they had some struggles and were going through stuff but they were trying to turn their lives around" every single other case is always "their smile lit the whole room"
People would NOT say that about me
I’ve always felt like people express themselves this way about people that are no longer here. Maybe the fact that they’re gone makes the memories of them that much more beautiful. Sort of “you don’t know what you have till it’s gone”.
I heard people saying that if you have the “Dateline face” you better watch out 😫
If anything ever happens to me they better say "She was lazy and just wanted to sleep all of the time."
I love when Bailey does stories that “everyone” knows cuz girl let me tell you! I’m Portuguese so trust me I do not know these stories! I love all of your episodes and stories but these ones always make me extra interested!
Same I grew up in Brazil and haven't heard any of these.
Same here I am from latin America but live in Germany so never heard many of these stories before! I was just last week in Portugal and it's such beautiful and warm welcoming country! ❤
joran: my life is being ruined
also joran: * confesses to being involved multiple times *
Honestly I was thinking the same thing 😂
He was just trying to make money every way he could… at this point I wish they would torture him to tell the truth.
Believe him and throw him under the jail.
Guy yyy
I can tell you who dropped the ball here. Never let your friends go off with three strange men in a different country, especially when they're intoxicated. Natalee's friends failed her.
Especially in Aruba, where human trafficking is very high, if she was kidnapped she could’ve been across the world by the time they realized she wasn’t in her room. May her soul rest peacefully wherever she lays. What happened to her was very sad and I pray for her family.
Human trafficking is not very high in Aruba lol its almost unheard of. There are very little close to none missing cases. Aruba is 90% safe.
I remember being 9 and seeing her story everywhere. While it's a tragedy I feel like it really set in what could happen if you're not safe while traveling. Everytime I go somewhere, I honestly think of her as a reminder.
So…u like 2?! 🧐
@@yassrog huh?

She. Was. 9.
@ the time.
At this point Joran is going to be almost an elder when he's finally free, so he might as well tell the actual truth. Absolutely disgusting, at least he's locked up
Sadly he just seems sick enough to actually enjoy keeping the secret for life. I’m realllly hoping he will confess and ACTUALLY be truthful about what happened.
@@bridgetmonahan356 true. It's so sad :/
@@bridgetmonahan356 he's a narcissistic psychopath. Using the disappearance of a young lady to extort money from the utterly distressed family is nothing short of it. He's one of the worst kinds of people, he truely only cares about himself.
@@bridgetmonahan356 I honestly think there is some truth in each of his "stories" about what happened. Whatever happened probably did happen at the beach and it is very likely they either tried to force themselves on her and things got out of hand or it was an overdose and they panicked.
@Bridget Monahan Hopefully he doesn't make it out alive. But lives long enough to give some closure to the Hollaway family. We all know he is guilty. No one confesses 10 times and lies if they are innocent. He has no remorse and deserves to rot in prison. He obviously has issues.
They should compile all of his confessions and connect it. I think he is thinking that no one will believe him so one of his confessions MIGHT be true
Is anyone else feeling disgusted that people were profiting off of her disappearance!? And the suspects out of all people 🤢
Peter R. de Vries, (the Dutch crime reporter) deserves more credit here. He was a great investigator with even greater integrity.
Yes, he was better than the police here. He will definitely be missed!
Yes. He was amazing. Rust zacht, Peter.
I really didnt like it when she said "for the views". I feel like he was always doing the best he could. May he rest in peace.
@@behiyeherdem8760 Absolutely! He really really wanted justice for the victims and went to great lengths to achieve it. Being American, Bailey doesn't know all this, so she just assumes. Peter R. de Vries has spent years investigating this case.
Yeah put some respect on Peters name
Interesting fact about the Dutch crime reporter. He was actually THE Dutch crime reporter. He solved many cases others couldn't, like the Heineken case, and always was a great confidant for victims & families. Many think he's better than police, which it probably why he was executed earlier in 2021 in broad daylight.
He always denied protection because he'd have to adhere to all kinds of rules and "on bended knees is no way to live", and unfortunately they got to him. It seems to be all related to one crime-ring being under investigation & prosecution, but innocent until proven guilty.
Absolutely, Peter will be missed ❤ He had a great sense of humour too
Woah what is his name? I gotta look more into this

Woah, Bailey should do a video on this!
A year later after you cover this and the case is now solved. He finally admitted to it and didn’t take it back this time!
Natalie: *Goes to Aruba after graduation*
Bailey: “I got to go to the Cheesecake Factory when I graduated.”
Me: “I got to go to work when I graduated.”
Okay but I went to spaghetti warehouse lol
I went to Denny's and had pancakes and cocoa lol
I just want to add one little bit to this thread.
Me: “y’all graduated?”
i went to the beach in cali.
Yall went somewhere??
I would never ever EVER let my friends leave with a random guy they just met. Like go and exchange phone numbers, etc but we are going HOME.
Yes!!! WE are going HOME. You’re an awesome friend. ♥️
My heart breaks for her family. I hope they get the answers they so desperately need and deserve ❤️
I missed your videos! I lost my husband two months ago to Covid and we LOVED watching you together. This is the first time I've been able to watch you again and it actually helps me some.
I love you!
I'm so sorry for your loss 😥 hope bailey continues to bring you healing
I’m so so sorry for your loss. It’s wonderful that you can find something to bring you joy that you and your husband were able to enjoy together. I wish you happiness and peace 🙏🏻
💙💙💙💙
❤️❤️ sending love
I’m sorry but how do you let your “friend” go off with three random foreign men?? It may have been 2005, but come on they should’ve done better.
Edit: I’m glad some people agree with me! I wasn’t sure if I was being too harsh. I’ve also come to realize over the past days that the school should have been at fault as well for not keeping an eye on students, since it was a trip the school put together.
I’m 25 and with my friends we still have the rule of no one going alone with strangers. A hookup isn’t worth the risk
Exactly very scary. I mean not only is it three guys they are in a foreign country. Human trafficking? Like that was known about back then. So sad.
I totally agree - I’d never let my friends go off like that! BUT they were young & were drinking & this was probably their first taste of freedom. They weren’t thinking straight. Hindsight is 20/20 but it doesn’t help change the past, unfortunately! I’m SURE they regret that decision!
@@erinwooten7209 yeah I know. I’m sure they feel really bad, it’s just sad to think about if back then we had the knowledge we were taught right now, a lot of cases like this might’ve been prevented.

There isn’t anyone more guilty than someone that keeps inserting themselves into an ongoing investigation…. 👁👄👁

“I made that ish up. Lol. Jk. Send.” Obsessed with Bailey at this point.
Also this story is SO messed up. Like she didn’t even get to use her degree, live her life. So so sad.
Yeah I’d understand if it was someone useless to society like me but she was gonna be a doctor; she would’ve been saving lives, especially now with the pandemic…
‘It’s disgusting, it’s disgusting. You wanna punch him in the face’. Bailey for President.
I’ll vote for her!
So please don’t make him look like he did something for views. He just got killed this year and we are still mourning ♥️✨☁️

Ik wou bijna deze video niet kijken omdat ik in de comments las dat ze negatief zou zijn over Peter oof
It’s funny how people that have never met someone in there life is “mourning” them! To truly mourn, you have to know them. That’s just my PO.

Great storytelling.
And it's the last thing people comment on but this makeup look is beautiful too.
I love that all these people came together so fast for this girl and tried really hard but I also really wish this would happen with every missing woman case not just ones with money and certain class , this should be done with literally everyone who is reported missing , it would solve a lot of things

Yes! We went in July and I agree. Such a beautiful place and the friendliest people. They love their tourism industry and are very proud of how safe it is and how accommodating they are. Ours in the late 80’s-90’s were not quite as big & floofy as the scrunchies of today.
I always do the pop sound after she says nogin
I feel like a chunk of that generation’s innocence was lost with her. Such a shame that her family is STILL waiting 💔
Same. I'm 34 and around her age and it put a holt to kids my ages parents feeling comfortable with a graduation trip like this
It definitely changed the way parents dealt with spring break and graduation trips for sure! It was really the first time it was publicized that someone could go missing and never be found, and that we could think we know who was responsible and not be able to prove it. Put a fear of leaving the country into an entire generation.
I couldnt agree with you more. I was a senior in 2006. All of the horrific rumors and stories about her are things that still haunt me. It opened my world to things I never thought existed and wish I didnt know. No more senior trips and just celebrating being 18. Sad.
I was living in Alabama at the time, in Birmingham and im her age. It was so scary to see and hear people being so upset.

My grandmother was terrified something would happen to me like Natalie. I’m 36 now, married and a mother of two… it’s so sad Natalie didn’t get the chance to do the same
A clue, they said she wanted to see sharks. So sharks feed at night, they could have took her where sharks fed the most and dumped her in the water. No trace of remains if sharks ate her.
Yeah, that specific remark is worrisome
I was thinking the same thing
I scrolled so far down to find this comment
What about pieces of fabric the shark would leave behind?
In aruba it's not like there are sharks at bay , there are some like small sand sharks at where they supposedly were but not to the extent of the story the way it was told , in order for the shark theory to be true it would have been to take a boat and went out far ( that would have been also with a perdon that knows the water and knows where sharks are )
I definitely believe jordon has something to do with it but without the remains I think trafficking plays a big part in Universal travel 😢
