  • [4K] Experience the stunning sights of South London from a unique POV.
Take a virtual journey with me as I experience the London Tram for the first time! Starting at Beckenham Junction Station and ending at Wimbledon, this video captures the smooth ride and beautiful scenery along the way. As the day was sunny, I also decided to film the return journey from Wimbledon to Beckenham Junction Station, giving you an all-around view of the city on tram.
Did you know that the London Trams, previously known as Tramlink and Croydon Tramlink, is a light rail transit system serving Croydon and surrounding areas in South London since 2000, making it the first tram system in the London region since 1952? Managed by London Trams, a public body part of Transport for London (TfL), and operated by FirstGroup since 2017, the system boasts 39 stops along 28 km (17 mi) of tracks, on a mixture of street tracks shared with other traffic, dedicated tracks in public roads, and off-street tracks consisting of new rights-of-way, former railway lines, and one right-of-way where the Tramlink track runs parallel to a third rail-electrified Network Rail line.
Tramlink is one of two light rail networks in Greater London, connecting Bromley, Croydon, Merton, and Sutton, with eastern termini at Beckenham Junction, Elmers End, and New Addington, and a western terminus at Wimbledon, where commuters can easily interchange for the London Underground. Fun fact: Tramlink is the fourth-busiest light rail network in the UK behind the Docklands Light Railway, Manchester Metrolink, and Tyne and Wear Metro!
Whether you're a transport enthusiast or simply want to explore London from a different perspective, this virtual ride on the London Tram offers a unique experience that is sure to delight and educate.
