Cool of her to actually listen and understand his anxiety. My mother has dealt with hepatitis, cancer, and all the other health problems they caused. It's shockingly rare to find a doctor who hasn't been desensitized and just doesn't care anymore.
I know what you are saying. My mom had to have extremely vomiting producing chemotherapy for ovarian cancer. You don't know anything about PTSD either. It's not an anxiety disorder. And is caused by a life threatening event. I know this because I was diagnosed after my 2nd deployment to Iraq. I was hit by an IED and hurt badly. Too many people claim they have PTSD and are full of shit.
@@mickeybeahl2233 there are different kinds of PTSD. it doesn't have to be from life threatening events, just something severely traumatic which can change from person to person. it can be many things like sexual abuse, neglect, verbal abuse, physical abuse, having a severe illness, loved ones having severe illness, a loved one dying, near death experiences, witnessing death, witnessing other traumatic things, war, etc. don't try to invalidate others suffering.

Dr. Lee is such an angel. It is sad that the world we live in, this isn't the norm. She treats people with compassion and dignity, it is one of the main reasons I love watching her videos.

My father has extensive medical trauma from childhood, so it was even more stressful when he got his cancer diagnosis. We only found out because he randomly started acting drunk, even though he doesn't drink. He was so out of it that my brother and I were able to boss him (tell him to go sit down, drink water, basically parent him) around when he is usually the most stubborn person imaginable. His behavior, we later learned, was due to a brain tumor. He is receiving treatment at Sloan Kettering, and the medical staff has been excellent with regard to his medical anxiety. They even get him to joke around with them every once in a while, which is huge, seeing that before this, my father hadn't stepped into a doctor's office in over a decade. I genuinely believe if they had been dismissive of my father's medical trauma - he would have died due to not complying with the treatment.

@@HanMestov the audacity of you to patronise me when you've obviously not done a sec of research. The same WHO policies have been implemented everywhere in Europe, U.S, new zealand, australia: 1- hospitals were to not treat anyone over 65, so they took ill people from hospitals and placed them in care homes and hospices with very little care ( most of staff gone home due to false positives). They claim they had to do this bc soon there'd be ppl dropping dead in the street and miiiiilllions would die worldwide, which NEVER happened, yet these ppl were left to die of neglect, many of such simple things like dehydration. 2 - they used the PCR tests to cause hysteria, tests that aren't specific for sars covid 2 virus and that will ALWAYS give positive if you run more than 35 cycles, which was done everywhere. 3 - hospitals were instructed to claim EVERYTHING as covid death, if you had a car accident, went to hospital and tested 'positive' there with the shitty PCR test and you then died of the car accident injuries, you were labelled as a covid death. This is stated clearly in the CDC guidelines and there's multiple videos of CDC spokesmen and heads of state corroborating this. 4 - since there are no reliable tests tomdate you have NO WAY scientifically to be able to claim you're even dealing with anew disease. You only need to look at how the numbers of flu and pneumonia deaths almost vanished after the covid hysteria began. It doesn't take a fucking genius to understand why. 5 - There was NO EXCESS DEATH as expected of a real pandemic in most countries, in Spain for example, a country with allegedly one of the highest death rates, 26.000 people more died in 2018 than in 2020. I understand his frustration and fear, but I didn’t like what he said about Dr. Lee. She didn't squeeze you and tell you "see ya later". She took a piece of skin from you to run test on which is clearly more than any other dr has done for you. At least acknowledge that much.
I said the same thing. But I also thought.... If he said Dr Lee squeezed him and sent him home, which she obviously didn't, was he being honest about the other doctors actions? He might've had follow-up appointments that he never went to because he doesn't like doctors and thinks they're all quacks. If you had a bad experience with a doctor, say that. But if it's your phobia, be honest and say that. No one can fault you for your phobia. But we can fault you for telling half truths against someone else.
The other docs might have taken skin samples as well and he just never made it back in to see them. When people have that level of fear they make up stories in their minds to help them cope. Writing off all docs as quacks is a good reason not to have to go back and gets you sympathy from others. I’m glad he decided to stay and face his fear this time

@@mickeybeahl2233 lol youre not a doctor. Ive been diagnosed with ptsd as well by my doctor. Trauma can come from any sort of big event that changed you in any way, like the loss of a loved one, abuse, or like you, war. Ptsd stands for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, not Post Traumatic War Disorder. Lots of people can have it, it's not a competition to see who has the most trauma. Also sorry that you've experienced trauma in your life. But sohave other people, like my mother. She had medical ptsd because she almost lost two of my older sisters at very young ages because of heart problems they were born with. @@wolfboything I know damn well what it is. ONLY 15% of people that suffer LIFE THREATENING EVENTS cover the criteria to be diagnosed with it.

As someone who suffers from contamination OCD and anxiety/phobic disorder, it really warms my heart how willing she is to accommodate his mental health needs. It's way to often that you find medical professionals who just don't care.
I cannot imagine being so scared of doctors. This had to be the hardest thing for him. I also can’t imagine how horrible this pandemic is for him. He may seem like a jerk but I don’t think he was. He just wanted the thing off of his arm, but he was scared and uncomfortable. @@HanMestov the audacity of you to patronise me when you've obviously not done a sec of research. The same WHO policies have been implemented everywhere in Europe, U.S, new zealand, australia:
1- hospitals were to not treat anyone over 65, so they took ill people from hospitals and placed them in care homes and hospices with very little care ( most of staff gone home due to false positives).
Basically stop being a retard and wake the fuck up. Go research The Great Reset, understand the interests behind the WHO, the WEF and that they're using a fake pandemic to 'reset' the economy and take away our rights forever.

FLAT OUT WRONG, A LIE. I'm a recovering (sober/clean for 6 years now) alcoholic and drug addict myself, and can assure you, smoking my cigarettes were easily one of the very best tools in my arsenal to fight off anxiety and withdrawals, and especially NOW, in my maintenance program of staying clean and sober. i am working in a 12-step program, the same ones everyone knows about.... and even though I was already a smoker when I got sober, I learned through reading our literature and from others, that drinking a lot of coffee, soft drinks, tea or smoking/dipping are all perfectly fine things to hold onto, vs. the alternative, which is to use/drink again. I personally liked Leonard. He makes sure he doesn't get sick. Respect
Yeah true, never heard of diseases caused by smoking cigarettes...
@@alina.b. true lol he contradicted himself. And he’s making fun of Jews at 6:36 by using his mask as a kippah! So basically Jesus Christ Lopez respects smokers and racist .
@@ledsabbath3298 I didnt hear him say anything racist about Jews?
@@ledsabbath3298 you’re reaching with the jew one 😐 he doesn’t even bring up Jews or reference to Jews in any way.
And yet he smokes.
See I like how this was done. He's afraid of doctors mainly because they're often associated with those that are sick/ill/infirm. So they made everything as clean, sanitary, and masked and gloved as possible to alleviate that fear of things.
That's above and beyond the normal for doctor offices. I know I keep going to my appointments because they often try to schedule me when there's less overall people due to my issues with anxiety and social issues because of it. Same with my mental health counselor, appointment times when it's generally less people (max 3 or 4). They make the effort because they can. Makes you appreciate those in healthcare that do that extra to help someone like Dr. Lee and her staff.
So glad he was very brave to have this procedure. His friend was a wonderful support for him. Dr Lee knows how to quell patient's fears.
The thing i liked is how dr. Lee handled it. And she was not at all irritated by this. Respect💝
The pain in his eyes when she told him he might have skin cancer
Then goes outside to smoke a cigarette
Leonard hears a cough and runs out saying: "its the plague!"
well, in 2020 u d be probably right!
I would think that Leonard would quit smoking.
Yeah you're right
He hears a cough and runs out to light a cigarette? Wtf
@Thy Staff and how many other problems have those survivors had from this 'cough' did you know in children if it is bad enough it causes their organs to inflame and fail? Or it can severely damage lungs and hearts and cause lasting damage that the normal flu just doesn't do. As someone who works in a hospital and how many people I have seen within the ICU and how many end of life rooms from people of all ages who have gotten covid. That comment is extremely insensitive and you should be ashamed of yourself. I also hope no one you know including yourself gets a bad case of this. Have a good day
Plague is black spot not Brown
Leonard is certainly one of a kind...Thank goodness!
i feel so bad for these peoples like seriously it make me sad :'(
Dr Lee was so professional yet kind. The patient was so frustrating but he needed her help.

Sounds like this guy might have a severe anxiety disorder. I have general anxiety disorder, which means I worry about everything in general. I hope he's able to get some medication and/or therapy. Poor guy must be terrified right now.

Severe Anxiety Disorder is SAD.
He’s a hypochondriac, that’s for sure
@@adlirez hypochondriacs are worse. I think he just has some type of anxiety. Hypochondriacs literally cannot go outside their house fr
If he was a hypochondriac he wouldn't run of hospitals.
For everyone who says why does he smoke. If you don't remember smoking is addicting. For many, it gives them a sense of relief. It's hard to stop doing something so addicting.
Seriously! Come on people
Nicotine is not very addicting, but the habit of smoking is. At least it’s one of the easiest addictions to heal from.
@@wickedwonderland9831 I would say depends on the person. Some people are more prone to addiction than others.
Nicotine is totally addicting, but the effects last only 5-7 days once one has stopped smoking. It’s the emotional addiction that is the hardest to break. His mental state, I believe, will prevent him from quitting. I commend ANYONE who is successful in quitting! I smoked from ages 30-40. I went through an insurance paid program and fortunately was able to be successful - only 2 out of 30 of us were. I was ready to quit though. Plus I worked for a large downtown Dallas law firm and the city was going non-smoking in all buildings, except government ones. I was NOT about to stand outside in rain, snow, and ice to smoke! My husband continued to smoke but not in my presence. He wasn’t a particularly nice guy so that gesture surprised me. We did end up divorcing though!
Right I have had the habit since age 16 and am now 59
Brave guy, he's obviously got severe anxiety around doctors and germs so doing this must have been a huge deal for him.
Anxiety? Dude probably has straight up Iatrophobia (fear of doctors)
@@KlavierMenn partially right. he seems to more have a fear of catching something from a doctors visit. he may have had someone he knows went in for a simple procedure and catch something that caused the person to pass away.
@@rogueelement1176 It's still Iatrophobia. It is a scale of how bananas you go when you see a doc. My aunt has tremors and dislike to even mention doctors, because she saw her father and mother wither in a bed, from cancer in a time that such a thing wasn't even possible to treat. So, she, subcounciously relates the death of her parents to doctors, and thus fears them
@@KlavierMenn if that were true with the gentleman in the video he would not have even seen the first doctor that accidentally coughed on the instruments. he was wearing a mask at all times even outside up till the point he lit his cigarette and after that the mask went back on. the doctor seemed to see it as germaphobia. on first examination she put on a mask, grabbed a fresh pair of sterile glove and began to examine him. to ease his fears even more the medical staff put on full protective gear on the doctors orders when they went to do the procedure. i'm sorry to hear about what happened to your aunt. i lost my father to cancer.
For such a nervous man I find it amazing that he watched the procedure! He's braver than he knows!
he has mental sickness as well..She is such an angel..makes everyone feels calm..
“I’m treading carefully, I don’t want to scare Leonard...”
*5 minutes later*
“You might have skin cancer”
I think in part that was to communicate the seriousness of the manner. She didn't want to scare him away from doctors but it was something he needed to know and would jave likely influenced his decisions regarding chip going into the future
You are so good, Dr Lee. You're a blessing to sick people that needs comfort from a doctor like you. I have been too many doctors who scared me the most that sometimes I fought with them. But you are different, Dr Lee.
.....because he needs to know.
Well, you can’t just be a doctor and just not tell a person what they could have.
@so ju lee hahaha!!! lol!!
Dr. Lee is so patient. Its not easy to work with someone who have no trust towards what you’re doing and she did amazing!! Love her so much for this.
I just lost my grandpa to Melanoma. Seeing her treat Leonard with such care makes me really wish my grandpa had this as well.
The “chip on my shoulder” thing is actually quite reassuring. He can stay positive in a bad situation. Good guy.
He probably smokes because it helps him destress from having anxiety some people don't have to be so mean just because he he's scared of having cancer or dying doesn't mean he's going to have perfect health and take care of itself everybody has those anxieties and they still continue to smoke and do things we shouldn't do
Not being mean or rude (I am very scared to get sick from like cancer or something) but like..if he is scared of getting like, cancer or something, he shouldn't smoke then..but I do feel bad for him

I'm so glad Leonard has a friend to help him with anxiety.
I wish you the very best of life, Leonard.
I think it might be for dramatic effect, but I’m not sure.. just a thought
He's obviously traumatized from his previous dr. Interactions
I said the same thing but then I told myself he just doesn't trust doctors so he'll always look for negatives even when there aren't any.
The other docs might have taken skin samples as well and he just never made it back in to see them. When people have that level of fear they make up stories in their minds to help them cope. Writing off all docs as quacks is a good reason not to have to go back and gets you sympathy from others. I’m glad he decided to stay and face his fear this time
Wow! A+ to Dr. Lee for being so great with this poor scared gentleman. I was glad that there was a good diagnosis for the lump, as well. I am a big fan of Dr. Lee--she has the best bedside manner!
My grandfather was exactly like this. Unfortunately, his lump wasn't benign, and he died when I was little, just before the turn of the millennium. Glad to see people like Leonard now have places they can reach out to and get understanding. I thank Dr. Lee for her kind consideration to her patients, and I hope he made a speedy and full recovery!
