    This year we roasted a 15.6 pound turkey in the bottom oven. I hope that dispels any concerns about the ability of the oven to handle a decent size turkey.

    We have the single oven version (LG6337), and we are delighted with it. Ours has a gas convection oven, partly because we would have had to rewire our house, including a new service panel, to use an electric oven.

    I had the same issue on how to self-clean, not knowing how to change top vs bottom oven. What you see initially is the bottom oven. That oven has 2 elements and the icon shows them both being activated. To switch between ovens, press the + or - button. This will scroll through the time settings for cleaning which range from 3 to 5 hours. Once you get to 5 or 3 and keep going, it will switch to the top oven. You can then decide on it's cleaning time. Hope this helps!

    The LG website says 18,500 BTUs for the high-powered burner, so slightly better than what I mentioned. You can also adjust the oven temperature setting 35 degrees up or down if the setting seems to be inaccurate. For instance, if the oven isn't actually reaching 350 degrees Fahrenheit, you can use advanced settings to change that default setting for more accuracy. The highest temperature you can set in Bake mode is 550 degrees Fahrenheit. You can also set the oven to Celsius or a 24 hour clock, which makes it quite versatile. More function settings are available by pressing and holding Start Time for 30 seconds.

      The oven comes with one sliding rack, but I purchased the second sliding rack directly from LG on their website. As long as you have the oven model number you will be able to find the rack that fits it. As for the oven itself, I still really like it, although I think the way the oven dial works can be a bit unusual at first if you're not used to it. Very happy with the self-cleaning function, too, but I wouldn't bother using the shorter Easy Clean function.

      Does your oven have an oven knob like mine? If so, you will notice that there are settings for the upper oven and lower oven. First you turn the knob to the first oven you want to set and choose a setting like "bake" and enter the temperature you want and then press Start. Then you turn the knob to the other oven and set it to "bake' or whatever setting you prefer and set the temperature for it and then press Start. You'll see both ovens are now preheating to reach the setting you selected.

      You can set each oven temperature independently, so, yes, you can set one to 350 and the other to 500 if you choose. I do notice residual heat from one oven enters the other oven, so if you are using the upper oven for one thing, you wouldn't even have to use Proof or a warming temp. for the lower oven.

    Hi, thanks for your review. I have a question I hope you could answer.
    My question is regarding the gas connection on the back of the range which everyone seems to be complaining about because it's flush with the back of the range instead of it being pushed in so the back of the range can go flush with back wall. • @LuisPerez-vy6bz
      @LuisPerez-vy6bz 3 роки тому

      Jorge, I was trying to add a picture of how my gas line was done, but we ran it from the top of the attic down towards the back of the stove. We literally went all the way down towards the bottom and we added a Sioux Outlet Gas Box that flushed to the drywall and is practically millimeters above floor our tile to avoid the actual gas valve from pushing the stove outward, since the bottom part of the stove has a good 4-5” inch area that is specially designed for the gas valve that comes out of the ground, wall, or lower side of the kitchen cabinets. From there we just connected the gas line from the stove to the new gas valve and we were able to push the stove an inch off the wall and it flushed fairly well too. Worked out nicely. 👍🏼

      @@sajithpb It really depends on how your gas supply line is installed. I don't think there is a particular clearance stated except in the manual they show about 2.5" for the electrical outlets behind it, so that might be the minimum clearance that they recommend. You may have to check their site for more details. Mine is 3.5" away from the wall and sticks out about 4". This doesn't bother me, but it might in a tighter kitchen. For the LG LTG4715ST, what is the difference between the convection bake and convection roast modes?

    • @sacadosify
      @sacadosify  3 роки тому

      Here is what LG says: "Convection baking uses a fan to circulate the oven's heat evenly and continuously within the oven. This improved heat distribution allows even cooking and excellent results using multiple racks at the same time. ... The Convection Roast feature combines a cooking with the convection fan to roast meats and poultry." Sounds like the roast function is better for one item in the oven - usually for roasting meat.

      I haven't cooked a turkey in it yet, but I'd say the oven cavity has about 10" to 11" of space from the bottom rack, leaving at least an inch of clearance from the top heating element, so you can estimate the height of the turkey you plan to cook along with the pan you plan to roast it in and decide from there. Here are the interior oven dimensions according to LG: Oven Interior Dimensions (Lower) W x H x D: 24 13/16" x 14 1/4" x 20". Hope that helps.

      It should. Just ask LG. If you are using the gas at the time of a power outage, you can continue to use the cooktop, but as a precaution you can install a battery operated gas leak detector near your range. In the event of a disaster, you have to shut off your gas line anyway.

    Hello has your scratched easily when cleaning it?

    • @sacadosify
      @sacadosify  3 роки тому

      If you clean it as intended, it should not easily scratch. The best way is to use the Self Clean setting (available on the electric ovens). Read the manual on how to prepare the oven. The Easy Clean setting really doesn't seem to do much. If you have to clean by hand, heat up the oven to about 200 degrees Fahrenheit, squirt water into oven cavity, let oven cool to touch, then lay dampened paper towels or absorbent cloths over stubborn charred bits of leftover food. Wipe oven cavity and stains with cloth or sponge after about 15 minutes. If you still have blackened areas, you'll want to use the Self Clean setting. If you don't have the Self Clean setting, you can try using a sponge that has a slightly abrasive pad on one side. The oven comes with a pad, so I would use that one and/or find a pad that is similar and not too rough. Hope this information helps.

    How do you use the electric oven?

    • @sacadosify
      @sacadosify  3 роки тому

      I use the top one for broiling meat, fish, vegetables, etc. and baking things like cookies, pies, pastries and pizza. It heats up fairly quickly. The lower oven works well for roasting, braising, proofing and baking bread and baking cakes, cookies, pastries, pies and other things that might not fit in the smaller top oven. They both maintain a fairly consistent temperature, although they might cook items a little faster than an oven with a larger cavity. I don't use the lower oven convection and haven't really found a need for it, since everything comes out of the ovens evenly baked. The fan in the lower oven can be an annoyance when baking at high temperatures, but it's not something I'm concerned about. The oven is well insulated, so the room doesn't heat up in hot weather. I've found 450 degrees F in the lower oven perfect for baking bread in a Dutch oven. I should mention that I've used the Self Clean cycle several times now and am impressed at how well it cleans the oven.

      We always purchase an extended warranty. Appliances these days aren't made to last like they used to. My husband used to work in appliances at a big box store, and he quickly learned that the manufacturers' warranties are frequently insufficient. He got nothing for recommending extended warranties, but always did so.

      LOL! I showed the complete range right at the beginning of the video. It's a slide-in, so the sides don't matter. You can view my unboxing video that shows the back side of it.

    Lynn, you crack me up! It is a beautiful stove. You come off as some trust fund baby hillbilly. Based on your review, I’ll buy two of them!
