For those of you who don't know, Shaolin kung fu is one of the oldest and hardest forms of martial arts. A lot of MMA and other martial arts originated from Shaolin kung fu. You may have seen many MMA fighter vs Shaolin Monk videos on UA-cam. Shaolin masters can develop crazy abilities like iron fist, extreme flexibility, and the ability to run on water.

As an advice for mediation: You should never try to ignore noises that may disturbe you, you can switch you attention from your breath to those very noises or any other sensation you're feeling, but simply don't get attached to those sensations, noises or thoughts, just observe them, don't get involved and don't continue them, just observe them for as long as they want to stay and then return to your breath.
What you try to resist, persists. It's very important to remain mindful and be conscious when the mind wonders, but then redirect it to the breath. It takes time but you're very fortune to have such a great teacher to teach you, I learnt everything I know from reading books, since I live in a country, where no one is interested on eastern philosophy.

It's not about ignoring or blocking. If a thought passes just dont focus on it. You can let it go and just pass by. It's like if you were at the bottom of a lake and the thoughts and sounds were fish. The fish won't bother you so dont bother them

I've only twice ever mediated until I hit that "zen" state, or I call it, putting my brain into the "nothing box."
You explained it perfectly. You can't ignore stimulus, but you accept it until it becomes part of your being, and becomes white noise (all senses). When you finally achieve that perfect state, as soon as you come out of it, the peace is exhilarating. 30 min of good meditation feels like a perfect night's sleep.

Almost every day I get anxiety because I always stood out to the whole class , and not in a good way. I suffered a lot. I couldn't stop thinking of the past and worrying about my future. I felt so stressed in my life. But today I learned something. I learned to accept what's happening. I learned to accept what was, what is, and what is to come. Meditate. Let the process flow like water. Eventually it will end and start a new. It's only a matter of TIME.
    Thank you Hafu.

When it comes to meditating, it’s natural to have a mind that’s always racing. It’s natural. You’re too focused on NOT trying to think of things so much that you’re not able to meditate. It doesn’t matter the amount of noise pollution you have, it’s about being there in the present, in the now. I understand that it’s not something you can accomplish on one day but taking the time to meditate is all the practice you need. Good luck my friend!

Why we didn't like Judaism then? - welp jews sent Jesus to death and the early christians couldn't forgive them, but they just what they're priests said they should do. Also didn't believe in Jesus.
Ashari (and Sunnite I guess? Pls do not kill me) - Well I guess they had very different rules then us, it was more brutal and unfriendly, but that is just the problem of the thing that we call holy books. I have been practicing meditation a lot throughout the past 4 years and I can genuinely tell you meditation is not hard. The hardest part of meditation is understanding what meditation is.
The best technique I have found for learning to start meditating with an unfocused and restless mind is where you simply acknowledge the thoughts that come into your mind and let it pass you dont need to ignore it. Most meditation practices are about being in the moment not worrying about the future or examining the past. It is natural for thoughts to arise so instead of ignoring them it is best to just acknowledge it and allow it to pass. You can even in your mind think to yourself. I acknowledge the humming of the fan. I acknowledge my fear of not being good enough.
Also not all meditation is focused on clearing the mind and being void of thought. Meditation can really be for anything.

If you find yourself too restless though simply try again later if you have to but usually I just need to acknowledge or even count my breath

When i was a teenager i dream of becoming a shaolin monk and there was one shaolin monk who visit in our country and teach us basic shaolin monk exercises. I gave up my goals of becoming shaolin monk because china is too far from my country and i was a high school student at that time but i still doing what has been taught to me until now especially the mabu ( horse stance )

a good way to calm your mind is thinking of standing in front of a completely white wall without any bricks or anything...just a plain white wall and then you'll focus only on this white wall. this can help not thinking about your surroundings and actually calm your mind.

this is actually irritating. stop trying so hard for the camera and give him and his practice respect by actually immersing yourself into it. talking during the meditation was ridiculous. and the headband to 'measure your brain waves'? come on... common sense, dude.

The headband was fine since it gives him a visual benchmark for his progress in mental tranquility, but yeah him talking during the meditation was irksome, I wish he'd fully immerse himself a bit more

    • @Bones911

I agree. And it is sad to say but this is for the camera. This isn't him going at it and self improving for self improving. I am happy that someone wants to better themselves. But at the same time. It is a shame when you disrespect master. I know mine would've beaten me if I ever interacted with him the way this guy did. I hope he improves himself and his attitude towards his superior.
